maybe it's just me though

I don't know who Mei is
but in chapter 3 (somewhere around page 30 or onwards), Mea was inside Rito's dream and she saw "it" and called it a "beast"

Regarding Yami, well more explicitly, they need to have seen Rito's tower to be included in the group.

Here's to me hoping for more story and a Lala focus some time soon... I personally don't find Momo interesting as a lead, although on the other hand Yami is great for the lead.

Unfortunately... the focus on Lala is over. It's Momo and the other girls like Yami.

It kind of makes sense considering that she confessed her love to Rito and he in turns told her his feelings as well. It's going to take awhile considering that he screwed up his confession to Haruna in the prequel and said it to the other girls in the area.

Lala is just waiting on the sidelines until Rito or Haruna make a move, which leaves more development for the other girls.

Most agreed. They were fun for a while but old fast. The original TLR series got boring for me 3/4 into it, actually.

Haruna likes him, so she's in the bag. It's all about the other girls. And there's plenty of them. Genius move, being able to write mini-arcs for each girl and all.

True, but that's the reason why probably Yabuki shifted main girl protagonist.

Given Momo's character the ecchi level of TLR-D went up a notch which is not a bad thing on my case.

I don't believe Haruna herself is clumsy, especially with that mayonnaise incident towards the end (whilst they were still in each other's bodies).
