Hello,

can anybody explain me the meaning of "tochuu" OR "tochū" from the OP "Tabi no Tochuu" in english please?

"Tabi" and "no" are clear but himself Jim Breen let me down with "tochuu" since some years from my beginning of the fascination of the japanese language.

The tabliture for guitar transcribed by the fan is on Web.
She (he?) says that there is partially a strange point.

tabliture:
ttp://hikarizaka.web.fc2.com/tab/tabi_no_totyu.zip
(Since the file name is Japanese, it may not open, unless it renames to an alphabet name.)

The video by which she (he?) is playing it:

uhh it's been three months but i thought i might as well answer this for anyone who was wondering and for Tamatebako.

well 'tochuu' stands for in the middle of something or during, an example is 'shobai no tochuu' where shoubai means business (similar to shounin merchant) so in the middle of business. In fact in episode 10 when Lawrence goes to meet the head of the Loewen trade union he said the same thing.

ok well i kinda went off the point there anyway,
'no' means belonging to, so 'ore no namea wa....' is my name is...

'tabi' is a journey or trip(also means a type of Japanese sock but in context it means a journey)

sooo in the end 'tabi no tochuu' directly translates to,
*drum roll*
middle of journey or journey's middle or during a journey.

Sorry if this isn't the right way to get around double posting.

Ok so after the peak of immense pain from wisdom tooth surgery and swelling of the jaw i decided to transcribe some of the ost's of Spice and Wolf since i wasn't able to find any midi's made by fan's online so i decided to start with the violin accompaniment to "Yume no Mani Mani".
If anyone wants the violin midi or sheet music give a shout or if someone already has it can they save me the trouble of transcribing it?
I'll start on the main part after i've done the violin.

I counter this with a german fandub when it's already dedicated to me.. by my Mimi-chama (feat. Daimaiju): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xsLqscxHs8
She has also made a japanese version, but her prounounciation isn't the best, so enjoy this one =D

The artist of OP/ED for Spice and Wolf II was announced.

The artist of Opening theme song is Akino Arai.
(Yakusoku, Utsukushii hoshi/Once Upon a Time [Windaria], Natsukashii Umi/KURAU:OP, Kin no Nami Sen no Nami/ARIA The ORIGINATION:ED)
Akino Arai's Discography

The artist of Ending theme song is ROCKY CHACK as well as a first season.

Probably, OP is quiet soft music like a first season, since Akino Arai is an artist with many musical pieces of the quiet touch.
Since Akino Arai is one of my favorite artists, I welcome this selection.

According to official blog, ED seems to be music opposite to everybody's expectation in a good meaning.
What? Rap? Rock? Heavy metal?

After the first Rocky Chack song, I really doubt I'll be surprised. Anyway, I'm too lazy to hit wikipedia, has Akino Arai done any other anime ops/eds that I'd know?

I collected OP/ED of the anime which Akino Arai sang and composed.
I think that these are all.

1986
Windaria (movie):Main Theme/Yakusoku [Singer]---Debut single EP!
Windaria (movie):ED/Utsukushii Hoshi [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
1998
Outlaw Star:ED1/Hiru no Tsuki [Singer/Lyrics/Composition/Arrangement]
Outlaw Star:ED2/Tsuki no Ie [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
1999
Ayatsuri Sakon(Puppet Master Sakon):ED/Kanaete [Singer/Lyrics/Composition/Arrangement]
2001
Chikyu Bouei Kazoku(The Daichis - Earth Defence Family):ED/Hana no Katachi [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
NOIR:ED/Kireina Kanjo [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
2002
Tokyo Underground:ED/Kakusei Toshi [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
2004
KURAU Phantom Memory:OP/Natsukashii Umi [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
2006
ZEGAPAIN:OP/Kimi e Mukau Hikari [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
2008
ARIA The ORIGINATION:ED/Kin no Nami Sen no Nami [Singer/Lyrics/Composition]
2009
Spice and Wolf II:OP [Singer/Lyrics/Composition (Probably)]

Akino Arai offers many music to other artists in the same way.

1990
Record of Lodoss War OVA:OP/Adèsso e Fortuna - Hono to Eien (Singer:Sherry) [Lyrics/Composition]
1998
Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight (TV):ED/Hikari no Suashi (Singer:Chie Ishibashi) [Lyrics/Composition]
Gasaraki:ED/LOVE SONG (Singer:Tomoko Tane) [Composition/Arrangement]
2002
Chobits:ED2/Ningyo Hime (Singer:Rie Tanaka) [Composition]
2006
Gedo Senki (movie):ED/Theru no Uta (Singer:Aoi Teshima) [Lyrics/Composition]
2007
Stigma of the Wind:ED1/Hitorikiri no Sora (Singer:Saori Kiuji) [Composition]

Besides these, she is also composing the music of image songs or sound track.
It is interesting that almost all music is an ending theme.
I think that the anime which the view of the world resembles is Windaria, Record of Lodoss War, and Gedo Senki.
In these songs, I like Windaria, Gasaraki, KURAU, and ZEGAPAIN.

Oh Akino Arai is doing the OP, that's awesome news. Also if you're going to talk about Akino Arai music than you have to mention her Macross Plus songs. "Idol Talk", "Wanna Be an Angel" and her most famous song in "Voices" are all great stuff.

Although the music of Macros Plus was also wonderful, since music was written by Yoko Kanno, I excepted these.
In the same way, I also excepted "A Tree of Palme (movie)" and "Dragon Quest Saga: Emblem of Roto (movie)".

Ah, since I forgot NOIR, I added it to the list.

Hmm, the only one of those I've watched is Record of Lodoss War. Although I didn't much care for the first op, the second one had a much better one. (I think the first one was a tad bit too... soap opera.)

/facepalm

The reason I loved the first OP so much was because it was a waltz
I love Akino Arai, but I was hoping more from Kiyoura Natsumi...

Surely.
The music of almost all Akino Arai has a sad atmosphere, is slow tempo and has whisper voice like this.
KANAETE

They may be the so-called healing music and may not be suitable to an opening theme.
The rumor of an opening theme or an ending theme will be heard since first episode will be premiered next week.

There is a advance screening of the episode 1 in the Hororon festival II which will be held on May 31.
If the episode 1 has an opening theme, the rating will become clear immediately.
