This is the first drawing of college age Haruhi. Ito didn't provide a drawing in the novel and the manga covered that portion this month.

Wait. Wasn't college age Haruhi supposed to have long hair?

Just "longer than [Kyon] remembers."

So if the manga already showed collge age Haruhi, that means it has pretty much caught up with the novels by now. What are they going to do about that? a break? original content? (if so, will it be considered canon?)

They have done a few single-episode stories that are outside the books that were pretty decent. i would expect more such episodes.

The manga is published in English and is available from Amazon.com for less than ten dollars per volume. Asking for "free" versions on this board tends to be frowned upon . . .

Maybe they'll go on hiatus with their story? I'm not familiar with the manga publishers, so I don't know if they are apt for that...

They might do original side stories.

7/7 came and went. Though I suppose it is no longer as important a date for marketing after all the story arcs associated with it are over. I guess the next important dates are New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day.

After a few months of working on and off, trying to find time to get to it, our little translation group has finally finished a full English translation of the short story from Haruhi Hyakka, "Random Numbers." You can read it via PDF here. It's certainly not the most amazing story in the series, but it's cute and funny enough, especially if you've been missing Haruhi since the release of volumes 10-11 over two years ago now XD Enjoy~!

It came with the lastest artbook, Haruhi Hyakka, released recently.

Do we have another Haruhi story scheduled? I read in the past that would have one original story by Tanigawa and a "side story" about a student of real world dreaming about Suzumiya sitting next him...

There's a short story by Tanigawa (and illustration by Ito) scheduled in the S. WHITE anthology releasing in September. Also releasing on that day is a novel entitled Haruhi is not in my Classroom which has no direct relation to the franchise and is written by a different author. I wouldn't get my hopes up for the novel.

That was just artwork done by different illustrators. It's not really a crossover.
