Anime looks can be achieved in real life. We once believed most comic book looks couldn't be achieved in the big screen without looking ridiculous either, and now we've got years of freaking Rocket Raccoon and Groot and even Wolverine's weirdo hair as successful parts of our mainstream pop culture.

It's just, well, unless you are talking about something like Akira, most well known manga characters just don't look Japanese, and Japanese companies just won't hire us filthy gaijin. That doesn't guarantee a Western production will nail the looks either if they're not giving a crap, of course (hello Dragon Ball Evolution, hello Ghost in the Shell).

I'll give them this time around the actresses look better than they did in the live action TV series. Mind, they still look much older than their supposed age, something the TV disaster managed to convey better, but then again, let's be honest, most Negima girls had super adult movie star looks unfit most realistic 14 or 15 years old. I'm actually rather impressed by these Haruna, Madoka, Kaede and Chisame, who all nail the poses and attitudes of their manga selves at least here. The worst ones by far are Ayaka, Makie and Sakurako, who remind me of that Simpsons episode where Homer's evil toupee takes control over him. Those wigs just look like evil plastic creatures out to snatch bodies while forcing unnatural expressions on their hosts.

Also, Cute Girl Chamo. That just ain't right.

... my God, these have to be the laziest designs for Pactio cards ever. They didn't even bother to give the actresses extra costumes to wear for the pictures, what a disaster.

That's one lazy design, costumes aside, the cards don't even have a background except a rectangle with their name on the side. It's just poses and white background for the rest, seriously, even normal photoshoot have background you know

In its defense, the actual Pactio card designs for Nodoka and Asakura pretty much has them sporting the winter school uniform.
