Just ask the author
"So they're not first cousins right?"
"oh of course they are, that's what makes the ending so freakin hot!"

For you maybe, but for myself and a lot of other people it made no difference if they were first cousins or totally unrelated.

It was a joke
But if you seriously think incest is an alright option then ok...either way I figure it should be Nyuu or Lucy, at least for any new anime. That way you get both endings in different medium.

I'm not sure what PastPrime tried to say, but in my case, I don't care if she's his cousin, the one I wanted with Kohta was Lucy/Nyu. If Yuka is his cousin or not, it doesn't matter, she shouldn't be with him in the first place

I wonder how many votes the petition needs for them to consider a new season.

Cousin couple It's not uncommon for cousins, even first cousins to marry each other. In most of cultures and legal systems marriage between cousins is not considered as an incest.

I assume most feel that way. Not only did it never seem to me that Yuka was a good match for Kohta, but I just didn't really like her character period. Probably one of the only characters of Elfen Lied that I disliked, manga and anime. She takes Jealousy to a whole new level.

Good point, what kind of girl beats the living crap out of the guy she loves. I mean honestly, that's a somewhat abusive relationship. God knows what she did during their intercourse to produce a kid .

mmmm... I think I saw it somewhere else... I think... in almost 50% of all the animes I saw I'm not sure if Yuka is one, but tsundere characters do that, often.

Elfen Lied? Lol, you gotta see some more stuff out there before considering this show the best anime ever. In my opinion, I don't think there is any best anime out there, all are equal, but some are just terribly drawn or written. I guess it is a matter of opinion, when one comes to the belief that the anime they have watched left a great impression upon them.

I second this, but it's obvious from my title rank that I am a big Elfen Lied Fan ( I even have my own fan club on this site )

Elfen Lied was my favorite anime for some time after first seeing it, much like Neon Genesis was when I first saw that. Around two years ago though I watched Mushishi and now thats my favorite anime. I think favorites in many cases can change depending on your mood and current interests/addictions in a particular style and storytelling. And of course there are just shows that all around great and draw in viewers of all kinds.

I just like it because I can sympathize with most of the characters (except Yuka), which is something I can't really say for other shows or movies I watch. I like it how the series really shows the dark side of human nature. I still wince at little at the puppy scene. The last episode still almost makes me want to cry. All still happening even though I have watched this series a bunch of times. I have to say with all those things that this is grade A material.

Agreed. The characters and the underlying theme of the show is what really makes it stand out. Well that and the inventive decapitations.

Ok, I have to reinstall fallout 3, but I gonna make a Lucy character. For any of you guys who played Fallout 3, any good recommendations for what clothing, stats, and so on should I get for her?

Finally made the character, will post screenshots in the fan club picture book thing.

Really tried to like it, but wouldn't catch on no matter what - just came across as another generic post Evangelion cheap philosophy / pulp pastiche. Am I doing it wrong perhaps?

Funny, I didn't like Evangelion that much. But this from what I hear is a love it/hate it series. So don't feel bad about not liking it.
