More like a routine inspection on Londo Bell's part but really an excuse for Bright to stop the conspirators from firing the Gryps 2. Besides, those mobile suits defending Cheyenne base attacked first, giving another reason for Ra Cailum to disarm those mobile suits for defying Londo Bell's orders.

I think Riddhe said it best: "Is this a perfected Newtype? You always rush into things. Nobody wants an outcome like that. Just having the possibility is enough."

Like Haak said, the politics actually makes a whole lot of sense, unlike Sunrise many other mecha series (thank you Harutoshi Fukui & Yasuyuki Muto for your writings on this). The execution is beyond superb and near perfection (thank you Kazuhiro Furuhashi for your direction, the animator team for the mesmerizing action, and Sawano for your repeated but fitting awesome music). For characters, I’d say most of the “good guys” really became likable in this episode. Even Riddhe manages to redeem himself in my eyes (maybe even better than Hayden Christensen’s Vader). Oh, and did Gundam Unicorn just confirmed that our beloved newtype-trio Amuro-Lalah-Char are dead? They’re ghosts now so what else could it be beside a confirmation of their deaths? At least that will give closure to one prominent topic of debate from CCA’s ending.

And the mecha-porn, oh my gawd!! I won’t repeat what everybody has said about Unicorn duo & Neo Zeong. So I’ll just address the scenes involving other mechs: the Silver Bullet (not sure what variant) debut animation is nice but it just had to fight Frontal in Neo Zeong of all opponents. The result is absolutely clear: complete ownage by Neo *sigh*. Zaku III got some nice action! It’s nice that Sunrise included one of the most neglected official Zaku line from UC. And...oh hey Zeta Plus A1! You managed to get stomped by Jesta but at least you get to move and do some transformation, look at your buddy S-Gundam who’s still waiting for her animated debut . Gustav, you’re promising for future UC saga, but now you still got owned by the Jesta. Watching ReGelgu got one-shot is just sad. Sleeve's Bawoo, Ga-Zowmn, and Schuzrum-Galluss, you all rocks (even though you got destroyed in the end).
I heard somewhere that someone theorized that Char and Amuro transcended space and time due to the psychoframe phenomenom which pushed Axis away lol, and Lalah being dead have never been in question ROFL

As for the S gundam, didn't it already debut in animation during build fighters? (well technically the Ex-S)

He used his authority of Londo Bell to force an inspection of the base, primarily to gain access and stop the colony laser from firing. The guarding suits took action first and were promptly shut down

As for being captains, Bright is Londo Bell's commander (his designated post/job), and he has his own command ship to captain. His official rank is still Captain though

Sorta like the Diva's captain the the third arc of AGE, she is still technically ranked as a Lt. but she was put into the role of being the captain for the Diva, and was referred to as such though that was not her actual rank

I got watery eyes when I saw Marida smiled at Ridhne after he shot her.

Somehow, the battle between Banagher and Full Frontal felt weird. Neo Zeong got destroyed with just a touch of Unicorn?

I think the fight between Unicorn and Neo Zeong is like a page out of Hokuto no Ken. The thick armor of Neo Zeong cannot withstand punch, kicks and chops from unicorn and even when through space and time and dissolved into dust.

So it finally ended after so many years...

I admit i spoiled myself with Laplace already, it took just too long to finish/wait for the ending.

Alot of metaphor in this ep. The animation was awesome, but the fights lacked "drama". The highlight of the EP for me is when Marida died.

LOL yeah. Lalah is as dead as 60s hairstyle. I just kinda include her cause she’s "part of the package" of our superior Newtype-trio ghosts, LOL

Isn’t that a roundabout way of saying “Yup, they’re dead”? If what we’re seeing now (Char's ghost & Amuro’s ghostly voice) are called “transcending time and space” then might as well call whoever died in UC and became ghost as “transcenders” . I don’t think so. To quote that psychic kid from The Sixth Sense: “I see dead people .

I did mean S-Gundam. You know, the one with the less fluff. And I thought Ex-S debut in GBF is kinda lame. It doesn’t move much (if at all) IIRC.

After rewatching again, i notice Unicorn 3 I-shields, haven't they already exploded when Full frontal use his psycho-field attack? But after Full Frontal disintegrated, Banagher just called 3 shields again?

The thing that exploded was only the Beam Gatling attached to the shield, the shield should be able to withstand the explosion

so i'm assuming those characters shown at the end listening to Audrey talk were characters from the original series? its been wayyyyy too long and i don't recognize any of them (so i could be completely wrong about them being important characters).

man, Marida's role in this ep was heartclutchingly sad i also enjoyed the new drawing of old gundams.

See now, one can draw lines between Frontal being a " Vessel " for Char's ghost, Seeing how the Sinanju was just a vessel for the Neo Zeong. Mind = Blown.

Other than that, after rewatching the episode about 500 times, some parts really stand out, like the final battle between the RX-0's and the Neo Zeong. it's really really underwhelming how it just turns to dust. I wanted some epic scenes like the Sinanju moving around in episode two and some teamwork blowing the Neo Zeong apart piece by piece.

Marida's scenes where perfect, we could've used some more detailed background story on Angelo though, so people who havent read the novel knows why Angelo is so attached to Full Frontal and why he screams out " i don't want you to see " before he gets clawed. As it is now he is simply a fanatic with a Full Frontal fetish and a pretty boy look.

Only Kai Shiden is from the original series. Everyone else were characters who appeared in previous episodes of Gundam Unicorn, including the owner of that diner Audrey went to on Earth.

For those of you wondering about the little scene with Char/Amuro/Lalah/Frontal, here is what Fukui has to say (from the latest interview in Gundam Ace):

Secret Story 2 When Char, Amuro, and Lalah appeared in the end, was that a rescue?

When Char and Lalah appeared at the end, it felt like a rescue.

Fukui: That wasn’t a rescue. When Char turns up at the end, he’s coming to reclaim something he lost. Frontal was created to resemble Char, but although his soul was supposed to be empty, something was dwelling there. That might have been that person’s ego, or it might have been the grudge that Char was holding. In the last scene of “Char’s Counterattack”, when Char’s soul is dispersed, it’s not strange to think that part of him consented to die peacefully, but another part might have been unable to consent to dying and remained in the world as a kind of grudge. Then, after having his grudge appeased by Banagher, and after reclaiming that part of himself, he was asked by Amuro “Are you sure?”, and he was finally able to move on to the next life. The novel was still partly showing restraint, but the movie project went this far, and they even got Shuichi Ikeda to perform the voice, so I think it was right to go this far.

So why do people fight, anyway?
Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

Looks like they stayed true to the novel and Marida was not allowed to live.

I was never happy with this arrangement. *Sigh*

Really, do we get any sympathy points from the author? She was kidnapped and sold for sexual slavery. Forced to go through abortion numerous times before puberty and later had her womb surgically removed against her will. Exactly how much crap does the author want happening to this woman? Yes dammit, I did hope the OVA would somehow amend that 'fact', so she may LIVE in peace.

Ridhne, if you would do us a favor, shoot yourself. Actually wait, go shoot Yaoi boy and then yourself.
