Sangatsu no Lion [anticipation]

Uwah - it's finally, finally happening!

http://t.co/6fSoFCWDlU

I really need to start writing articles suggesting adaptations more often! I was thinking maybe Umino-sensei was insisting on ending the manga first, as there were no other obvious reasons I could think of for this not to have happened already. Of course, this could be a sign that she's planning on wrapping it up sometime soon - maybe to coincide with an anime ending.

About f***ing time!

Best news of the decade.

Kasai Kenichi + J.C. Staff + noitamina please. Honey and Clover is my favourite anime of all time so I would like that exact same staff setup (and style) back!

About time. I wonder what studio though? Maybe J.C. Staff but I'm still hyped for it.

It's beyond obvious that it would be J.C. Staff, preferably with Kasai or Nagai Tatsuyuki, but we'll just have to wait and see.

And most likely on the noitamina timeslot. Honey and Clover was the debut anime on that timeslot so it makes perfect sense they would want the next big thing from Umino to be on it too.

Except it's usual that when a NoitaminA show is announced, it's NoitaminA announcing it.

I was like a few chapters into the manga before I stopped for some reason. Maybe I should pick it up again.

Same here. I want to say its because scanlation stopped on it for a good while before being picked back up again, but by then I was no longer invested in it. I don't think I'll revisit the manga though, so that the anime material will feel more 'fresh'.

I know what you mean. I dropped it at first as well before picking it back up. I think it must be something to do with the seemingly "aimless" nature of Umino's writing that makes it difficult to grab hold of at first. But somehow it just clicked for me after taking a second stab at it.

Though now I'm just going to wait for the anime in the hopes that it reaches the end so I don't have to bother with sporadic manga translations (as well as being more partial to an animated form).

There are dozens of mangas with young kids in it. Just click the link in the first post and you'll find a description.

As for the manga, I remember reading several chapters quite some time ago and it was decent. Not really sure what to make out of it but I remember it having a good story and interesting characters.

Probably this is the official twitter for anime project :
https://twitter.com/anime_3lion

Just curious, did they follow Rena because she'll be in part of this anime (as seiyuu) or just because she's a massive fan of this manga ?

Hmm, I heard Shaft is going to adapt this and may air on NHK.

Shaft? That's very, er, unorthodox, considering what I've heard of the manga (haven't actually read it yet...).

But if done well, this could be a fine example of them diversifying.
