Actually, I thought that was good performance. First half was mediocre but he was able to build the momentum thanks to what to Kaori who he is playing for.

I wouldn't say his performance was very well though but I give him credit for completing it and was able to do so without stopping again. Nice. Oh and that woman at the end is an important character. "Mr. Mediocre". :>

Emi all fired up, Kousei finding some resolve, and Takeshi totally shaken up. Anyway, I dig how they used violins for Kousei, drums for Emi, and pure piano sound for Takeshi. Crazy fun. And that focus on watches. Nice touch.

Nice episode. I really need the next few episodes for it to really surpass Nodame in my personal ranking, though.

Such a whirlwind of emotions. The feels were so intense. Had tears streaming down my face in the latter half. Probably brought about by how Arima finally overcame his mother, and the reason why was because of Kaori. His song was like a musical love letter.

Don't know if I'm just a crybaby or not, but so many tears were shed.

For future reference, if you ever post something that needs spoiler tags, you should give more information on where the spoiler comes from.

E.g. "Answer from the manga" or "manga comparison" or "manga spoiler" rather than just "recent ep".

Wonder when we see violin playing again, even though it isn't the focus.

I like the little girl kid that seems to be at many of the concerts. Maybe she be the next generation of competitive musicians.

I was actually legit worried that he was going to stop playing symbolizing him fully giving up. (even if he try again later). So the director did very well in that regard imo for me to actually 'believe' in the tension.

I'm really loving the two rivals. Emi and Takeshi really complete the musician range of character types, and I hope they get more involved in the story. Takeshi's reaction as he got up an left was so heavy imo.

That after-credits scene. man, Kousei sure has a lot of ladies in his life.
