The official website for Junji Ito "Collection", the television anime of manga by famed horror author Junji Ito, revealed on Friday that the anime will have three DVD box sets with four episodes each for a total of twelve episodes. The second and third DVD sets will each include unaired episodes, titled "Tomie Part 1" and "Tomie Part 2," respectively.

Guess this means we’re going to have to wait for the Home release to see Tomie?

WOWOW channel rated the anime as R15, like a comparison, Gantz 0 and Blade of the immortal live-action are classified as PG-12, and whoever watched these two saw how violent they were.

I'm surprised how well the anime style fit for this show.

I've only read some of the author's works but this anime so far really makes it flow. Souichi is a peculiar character that will catch viewers' attention. Even his voice is noticable and not to mention, he kinda has a prankster personality.

Fun stuff.

Feels like a mixture of dark humor and supernatural-thriller.

I wish the final segment with the doll was a bit longer but otherwise, this has my interest at the moment.

The Op songs upbeat tune is slightly jarring when comparing it to the images for the opening.

That was... weird. But in a good way. Pretty much what I expected in fact.

Even though the doll segment was very short, it left a deeper impression on me than the first story. Probably because it was pure horror.

First part felt like a dark comedy where the punch line is that the creepy kid that pulls pranks is really just a creepy kid that pulls pranks.

The doll part was definitely disturbing. I wish that it was longer.

How much of Junji Ito's work are they adapting? Will we get the 'Drr...Drr...Drr' moment?

this second episode was much better than the first, this time I could feel a real sense of terror.

The first story was a bit lame, but I found the second one fascinating. The idea you could get stuck in a nightmare for what feels like hundreds of years is horrifying. Can only hope the girl's dreams will be happy ones.

The theme? of episode 2's Part B was very interesting. How the guy's body evolved as his brain/spirit/soul spent years and years... evolving? Hmm...

I enjoyed both of the stories this week. The second one was really effective. Couldn't help but feel for the guy during the part where he called out to Mami due to his long dreams.
