I thought that too, but I'm not so sure that this series will be like that. If done right that can be funny, but I expect another "cute girls do cute things" -series, like Ichigo Mashimaro, Binchoutan or Lucky Star.

Anyway, I can't wait for July.

Dude I think this is the audio file I downloaded once where this cute little imouto type character tries to teach you English and than screeches at you if you get it wrong. How are they going to make an anime out of this? I can just imagine a lot of cutesy stuff and lots of weirdness referring to legendary anime lines translated into Engrish and spoken as such.

I heard Tamara Yukari speak serious engrish in Moetan. It will a painful 30 minutes.

Wait, since I was born in Hong Kong and knew 成語動畫廊 last around 5 minutes, why should Moetan last longer than that?

If everything fails, go with Lucky Star route and it "should" work.

Maybe it'll be some kind of 4-koma thing with gags about Moetan trying to teach Japanese of varying degrees of learning ability English. That's about the only thing I can imagine that would have anything to do with the source material and still work as an anime.

On the other hand, I think I'm starting to see what Kaioshin's been on about with moe taking over enslaving us to mediocrity...

5 minutes of Moetan has more otaku jokes than 1 episode of Lucky Star.

The fun thing is listening to the joke in Japanese (or read it) to see if you get the joke/reference, then read the (most probably wrong) English translation, then listen to the mangled Engrish pronounciation. One joke works 3 times in Moetan.

That's awesomely good news
I didn't think there'd be an anime somedays out of it, but I'm very happy about it, especially since it looks really cute from the anime webpage already^^ (plus they seem to be going to use the original Moetan book artstyle more or less which I prefered to Moetan 2)
Actually it seems like POP is gonna be doing the cg for the anime (well at least I see POP in it though I can't really read what it says but I can assume it means this )

I just went on the website. The loli on the left seemed to be providing a panty shot, but upon closer look it's just extremely tight fitting clothing. Also kind of revealing in the upper regions too. Is this moe or just loli in this case. Can something still be moe if it's sexualized?

You just check the book and see what you think of it and yes it has panties shots I think.
Also both girls are actually the same girl I think <__<

Considering Ink-chan transforms into Moetan (the 2 girls shown is actually the same girl before and after the transformation) chances are actually kinda high it might be a magical girl anime.

While looking around I happened to find a Moetan winamp skin for those interested, and yes all the images are coming from the Moetan book, even the panties shot one.

Ink-chan travels the world with her magical-girl skills bonking misusers of the English language on the head and bringing Ruv-u to the world....... or not.

The imagery is just full of cute ... (I can't help that some people see what they want to see ).

The big pic by Thany demonstrates the wonders of art style and how it create the appearance of "agelessness" depending on the context.
