I have very low expectation on the mystery side of things, hope characters will be interesting enough to keep me hooked like other Kyoani series. I am well aware that characters are up to source material, but for me personally, I find most series animated by Kyoani contain quite a handfull of interesting and likable characters. Coincidence? Maybe, but hopefully it will not be disappointing.

New website, which should host all the news regarding the anime from here onward. Today's news is that Lantis has announced a net radio, "Kotenbu no Kuttaku" which starts April 20 with the first episode featuring Satomi Sato(Eru) and Daisuke Sakaguchi(Satoshi). EDIT: http://d.hatena.ne.jp/nanamibeya/20120302/p1 Looks like the show starts airing April 23 with 21 episodes?

In addition, there are only 5 published novels. 21 episodes gives 4.2 episodes per novel if needed. If they decided to only animate 4 (which remains a possibility for reasons I won't spoil), that would be 5.25 episodes per novel (around the same for Haruhi). 21 episodes also allows Kadokawa to sell 7 BD volumes of 3 episodes, though we cannot count out the possibility they'll sell 10 volumes with 2 episodes and one with one.

Really not a fan of Kyoani character designs these days. They moeify things too much to the point where they look like chipmunks and therefore not cute... to me anyway. I still think Haruhi (2006) had the best character designs and was also when they were somewhat "revolutionary" in visual quality. Now everything is, with a lack of a better word "K-onified." Guess that's what happens when K-on is your flagship title now.
Oh well... at least I will get fluid animation. Kyoani always delivers in that. Also, hoping it will be something like Bungaku Shojo in terms of the substance : moe ratio... |

I pretty much agree to the two previous posts : it will be better if Hyouka will be animated by a high-profile studio (P.A Works, Production I.G...) and will have manga character design rather than being made by KyoAni and have K-ON!-like character design that does not fit this one at all, even though it looks cute to me.

I donno... I just want to see some goddamn versatility in KyoAni. Give me a grim dark action or a mindfwak or something. And a different artstyle. If they can't give me that... then at least give me a FMP and/or Haruhi sequel |

This is not a studio well-known for that kind of content. This isn't K-On's art style either, even if it looks similar. |
