IIRC green particles are simply the most efficient form of GN Particles, since they're the byproduct of the actual complete package.

Ultimately, I don't really see any issue with the Exia using a GN Tau Drive: by this point, Celestial Being can't really afford to be picky with how they're powering their mobile suits. The Raphael in both its original and Dominions forms already uses Tau Drives for power, and unlike with the red Tau Drives the orange Tau Drives used by the ESF are a lot safer in term of exposure.

​Well if we are basing it on the Metal Build ad video that I posted, they kept on using green. We can't take it as 100% in-universe confirmation (HG Raphael boxart uses green, which isn't the case in-universe) but given nothing directly contradicts it, it is a safe assumption for now.

Can't they go back to Jupiter to make the safe, GN Drives?

If they make ships powered by GN Drives and GN Condensers, they can Trans AM repeatedly to get there faster.

Budgetary most likely. Even at the time of the movie they had to reuse tech from Cherudim and Arios since they couldn't build brand new Gundams from scratch.

It seems that GN Drive Taus appear to be much better in terms of energy density. As two example compare operation times of Tau machines versus the GN Archer which had to recombine with Arios after not very long to recharge. 0 Gundam Type ACD also lasted extremely short as well even though it was just standing still and shooting.

We know that you can make GN Condensers as the main powersource but likely you'll have to reserve even more energy than usual. GN Drive Tau MS by contrast can keep fairly well with Originals without the much shorter times of Condenser machines.

I suspect the only reason the Ptolemaios faction never used Tau Drives before is because they never had access to them, which is why GN Condensers are used. Now however a reawakened Tieria (or his clone he left behind, Laetitia) access to Veda and apparently made Raphael himself, and they got that one GN Drive Tau from GRM Gundam they found in Celestial Being colony ship too.

I'm also curious whether Dynames Repair III used a GN Drive Tau.......or even whatnDynames Repair II looked like.

- They are already doing the Trans Am acceleration/deceleration thing for space travel, that is why they were able to make them the two new GN Drives used by 00 Qan(T) in two year plus period. They just needed to go to Jupiter and activate the five "lights" GN Factories seen in the S2 final credits scene and begin working.

It is also the reason they can zip around Earth, Mars and Jupiter fairly easily in the movie in just the span of months.

- There is no longer extra danger from GN Drive Taus after Season 1. Now, Original and Taus are exactly as safe as each other. The only advantage of Original Drives is that they have a higher output and can continuosly operate.

- We already know that Celestial Being were really strapped for resources Post S2, which was given as the reason had to cut back on Zabanya and Harute's frame developement to focus on 00 Qan[T] and the new reactors. This resource strap may be a reason they are not making any new ones, and after the movie is likely a lot worse.

- However they should have at minimum one GN Drive left from Zabanya, two if Harute's GN Drive unit survived Harute being blown up. It is possible this last one/two are being priotized for some other MS units.

- Using a GN Drive Tau is likely way cheaper and easier. It won't be a new policy either since they're already using Taus for Raphael, Raphael Dominions and GRM.

it took 2 years to create 2 GN drive. so budget and time is an issue. besides if they want to create GN drive. might as well create new Gundam with it as opposed using "repair" version

The Exia Repair IV blurb does mention that there will be a 6th Generation of Gundams, so they're probably already trying to get more GN Drives, while the Repair versions are there because they do need stopgap mobile suits in the interim.

In addition, Celestial Being also needs to assign seperate machines on Earth and space now because they have a much harder time transporting them between the two.

For example, Dynames Repair and Exia Repair III were assigned to Earth in the movie's time and Setsuna used the latter to travel on Earth, while using 00 Raiser Repair and NGN Flag in space. So they should require some extra machines for faster counterterrorism responses.

Would be interesting whether they are going for more GN Drives or not in story, or whether they will just incorporate more Tau Drives. We know they used some Tau Drive machines at least, because they deployed Raphael Dominions in the Innovator War.
