dam suddenly Shinichi suddenly became ikemen. did the anime ever mention he is plain looking or good looking? i wonder if it is because of the parasite or because he took off his glasse. and lol spider scene
So Murano is not only one special. Girl who became MC's girlfriend early and with the 2 new girl appearing mean she have a high chance of dying haha. |

Why would the Parasyte be so obsessed about infecting humans? They can infect animals like dogs, yet that parasite considered himself as much of a failure as Migi who didn't take over Shinichi's brain. Why would they be so obsessed about eating humans? They get nothing special from us nutrition wise (they already have a human digestive system, so they should be capable of producing any special proteins, and Migi proves this). What evolutionary reason would the Parasyte have do these specific things*? Honestly? These guys look more like some kind of purpose built self-aware biological weapon than a natural species. Though even that train of thought only raises more questions. *especially considering that hunting humans will become much more dangerous if the humans ever find out what's going on. Unprepared civilians are easy prey. But a dedicated paramilitary force hunting down infected would not be.

Yeah, I have to think these things are artificially created. By who and for what purpose I'm less sure.
Will say the ending for this episode definitely had good energy going. Can certainly understand how much Shinichi wants to take down that parasyte. Having killed his mother, nearly killed his father and walking around as her....even if he wasn't being affected by this unity with Migi he'd probably be out of his mind with rage. Wiping that thing out and letting his mother rest in peace is of utmost importance. I kind of wonder how long she might stay at large. I guess this showdown is bound to happen. He won't stray from his father until he finds her. On the human side I'm most worried for Maki's well being. Seems like someone who could get caught in the cross fire. Once his dad goes back home he wouldn't be coming out this way so wouldn't normally see her again. Here's hoping she makes it through ok. Seems like a nice girl.

The most obvious idea would be they're a biological warfare agent dropped by an alien species to establish a beachhead before a full scale invasion. However, that isn't the kind of answer this show would give - at least, I don't think "full scale alien invasion" is a place it ever wants to go. What if they are a relic of the past? A weapon that WAS prepared by invaders who long left or died out for unrelated reasons and is now aimlessly attacking, unaware of their masters' departure. That would fit nicely and even if found out it wouldn't leave us to deal with the actual invasion, just with the weird existential condition of sentient creatures who no longer have a reason to exist yet have a drive to do so.

The panspermia theory takes care of how migi's kind came to earth, and while I don't think the issue of the parasites' reproduction is relevant, it's certain that we haven't seen (or maybe we will not see) the end of a parasite's natural life, so we don't know if they'll ever achieve sexual maturity to reproduce through sex organs or whatever. I personally think they'll just explode into spores when they want to reproduce.
The "kill all humans" mindset they have though is a different matter, it looks like it was pre-programmed into them by some other intelligent species. I don't think there's another species on earth programmed to kill anything that comes its way, almost every other life on earth only kills other organisms for food or reproduction, maybe they'll discuss more about this later I hope. As for the next episode, looks like they'll be introducing a rather important character. I wonder what will happen to that girl though, looks like she will be killed or taken over, after all, this isn't a harem series (unless we consider migi) and shinichi already has murano |

He/she was just too cute. Even though Migi has no genders, I always thought of him as a "he", until they got Hirano to voice "him"... Nothing, nothing can beat the relationship between a boy and his right hand... |

And I thought shinichi had it tough already, having his hand eaten by something. I should've seen that one from the start!
Maybe he's using his other hand while migi is observing for "educational" purposes? Shinichi is still a healthy young boy after all lol |

Not going to lie, the new Shinichi look at the end of the latest episode is awesome. Even his voice got a little deeper. The fight in the latest episode was good too.
The scenes involving Migi dividing itself though....

dang, pretty standard conclusion to this arc, but still intense imo.
I liked that Shinichi didn't hesitate TOO much in getting rid of the enemy parastye. He reacted to the scar on the hand, but that's been be focused on a lot, so it makes sense. Other than that, he was ready to do what needed to be done. I'm looking forward to developments with ESP girl. And man, that last shot. I can't handle bishonen Shinichi. His badass level is off the charts now. Every girl in the series is going to be chasing him now, as if they weren't already.

I wonder if the parasytes inside his body are giving off some kind of badass alpha pheromone that makes every girl go all "I want his babies" in their head whenever they smell it. XD |

It's awesome that Shinichi found someone in a situation just like him. Now he's got an ally in the truest sense. I wonder if Uda will ever undergo the same changes Shinichi's experiencing right now.

Suppose the only thing I wish was better was different music for that showdown. Honestly I think the build up song from last episode before it ended had a bit more intensity to it. Not bad, but was just left thinking that maybe a different track would have worked better.
But nice that he can put his mother to rest and I agree with Uda that it was better he take that finishing blow. Even though this is a monster, most of it is his mother's body. Better for someone else to take the painful role of ending it. And wow Shinichi is full blown alpha male lead now. All the girls want him . Of course I'm just glad that Maki got out of this unscathed. A little heartbreak isn't the worst thing in the world.

I guess it's kismet that Shinichi's 'mother' died on the edge of a cliff again.
In this episode Shinichi proved that even when Migi's hibernating, he's still far from being vulnerable. He's more than capable of going against a full-fledged parasite that's taken control over a human host. If anything I think this episode presented evidence for the fact that the real dangerous beings are the ones who still have their brain intact and who work in tandem with their partner. Every time a parasite underestimated a hybrid they've met their comeuppance with complete impunity. And it's not just Shinichi, who's physically enhanced. Migi leveled up as well as he can divide his temporary individual form making more copies of himself, although it comes with a catch. In the process, it divides its intelligence with each successive copy it makes and it grows smaller in size as well (meaning the smaller it is, the stupider it gets). Now he's back, with a new slick hairdo and a swagger to go along with it. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next. Maybe lie low for a while? Beat some bullies into submission and bag some babes along the way perhaps? I wanna say that the worst is over but knowing Parasyte, I'd say it's just getting started. |
