What costumes or military/battle uniforms do you like the best?

And what are your least favorite costumes?

What are the most practical and least practical costumes?

Favorite costumes:

Hei's costume consisting of black trench coat and kabuki noh mask (Darker Than Black). That kind of costume really suits him, and is fitting for his namesake which means black in Chinese.


Archer's sleek red-coated costume (Fate/Stay Night)


Saber's battle costume made of blue garment and steel armor (Fate/Stay Night). Saber looks very regal, majestic and commanding in her costume like this.


Ohgami Ichiro's white battle costume from Sakura Taisen anime. Ohgami looks cool in that costume.

Favorite battle/military uniforms: There is a difference between an uniform and a costume. A costume is worn by individuals but uniforms have to be look the same like in a group, especially a sentai group from Voltron or Voltes V.

Valkyrie-fighter pilot uniforms from Macross. They look cool and stylish. Dress uniforms from Macross are stylish as well.

I liked the girls' battle uniforms from Sakura Taisen 2 and 3 video games/anime. They were too good for Sakura to wear.


most practical costumes:
Hei's costume is very practical which would allow him to blend in with the shadows while undertaking espionage missions


least practical costumes:
Saber's armored costume, which incudes a big long armor-plated skirt, which might limit her manueverability in a battle.


It would make sense for characters who spend most of their time underwater to wear light clothing that offers little resistance when they are swimming. Anyone who wears a long cloth cape that would have gotten soggy and dragged them down and high-heeled boots that would have made walking difficult enough, let alone swimming.

I decided to go with something a little more recent. Im going to have to say i love the uniforms of The Order of the Black Knights. Really they are just badass and cool looking. Kallen looks great in black, a mini skirt and boots not mention C.C.'s new black outfit with big ol slits and her boots





Another fairly recent series Ergo Proxy got to love the dark gothic uniform



Then for some old school Id have to say Iria


Iv always loved the uniforms of the starforces in Crest/Banner of the Stars

The artworks is superbly done and the armor Sumi Keiichi draws are spectacular.

At first place we have Code Geass. I just love all designs concering that show.

On close second we have Nanoha StrikerS. I mean just the regular uniform on Fate looks fabolous.

I love the Gallian uniforms from Valkyria Chronicles. The Darcsen camouflage pattern really looks great.
