What is your 5 year plan?

Yo bros and brositas, I had too many beers tonight and decided to chat here;

WHAT IS YOUR 5 YEAR PLAN?

Yacht, Super-car, mansion? Playboy model? Pablo Escobar-size IM empire? TELL ME!

Not a 5 year plan, but I do have a 4 year plan to save $40,000, aiming to save at least $10,000 per year, reviewing my progress each year to see what areas I need to improve on in terms of reducing wasteful spending.

Last year I finally paid off my car loan. It was a 5 year loan that I took up after starting my first full time job, and it cost me around $480 AUD each month, so the $21,000 car I bought ended up costing me over $30,000 in repayments. Car loan... never again! And for most of that time, I was living in a house I bought with my (now ex) boyfriend, so I had additional expenses such as council rates, water/gas/electricity, Internet, home insurance, etc...

I now live with my parents, so with the car loan paid off I'm able to save more money. After doing my tax return last year, I realised that my student loan had been increasing by around $700 per year (due to indexing/interest) and was now over $35,000. So in four years time that amount may rise to around $40,000.

I'm not required to pay back my student loan unless my income is over a certain amount which isn't going to happen anytime soon, so other than the amount to be paid increasing year after year, there's no urgent need to pay it back. But I hate being in debt, so if I'm able to reach my goal in 4 years time, I will either pay off my student loan, or use some of that money to buy a new car. I will then review how I went with my savings goal and make a new long term plan. I really miss having my own home, so that will probably be my ultimate goal.

I often think about the future and here is my plan:
Get married, only once. Throw a fun party.
Become a parent without losing my identity.
Get (and stay!) completely out of debt.
Write a Novel.
But a house in NZ and get a promotion on Max Contracts, I am currently working there as recruitment specialist for more than a half of a year.
