So Squadsight is a default skill all sniper has now, but is no longer as OP as it was in EW. Also, instead of the old stationary vs mobility type sniper with one skill for gun damage, now the stationary and mobility type snipers seems to merge With Death from Above.

Yeah, but the ability to potentially hit every enemy in sight could be incredibly useful, especially if you're trying to peel off overwatches.

At least they the class name isn't lying. Truly a sharpshooter class. Deadly in super close. Deadly in Super range. If there is an OP pistol, the attack damage on individual enemies with the pistol would be a sight to look at

These mods are currently slated to be available at launch on February 5, 2016. We’ll have more information about the content of these mods soon.
Now I'm wondering what mods they'll be making...

More unfair options to make the game more "challenging". And if you played Long War, you know how sadistic can be Jhonny Lump's mind (specially his b*ner for the heavy floaters).

This needs to be modded in as the game's OP:

YouTube
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Also, there'll be more XCOM 2 streams by Feral Interactive and Firaxis later today.

The three Day-1 mods that Long War Studios will be releasing:

1. Submachine guns, provides extra mobility and stealth at the cost of reduced damage:

2. Muton Centurion:

3. Officer system that allows any soldier to gain a new additional set of abilities, at the cost of being able to deploy only one per mission:

Also the mod tools they just displayed.... I don't think I've seen any game with mod support this extensive before

Here's a summary from NeoGaf:

-LWS doesn't know what the limits are for modding
-Multiple levels of mod functionality
-XCOM ModBuddy is the mod program we're going to use
-You can give Bradford's gun to people if you mod it into the game, might have suppression ability
-LWS mods have been localized into 10 languages
-XCOM ModBuddy has multiple ways to distribute mods (Steam, Zip files)
-XCOM 2 editor has tons of content, none of the game content can be used in it.
-There are packages dedicated to character customization.
-7000 props provided for map creation
-Particle effects can be edited
-2400 maps in XCOM 2, including cinematic maps, rooms in the Avenger
-Recommended beginning mods are simple
-Assets: 1900+ script files, 2400+ maps, 7000+ environments, 4000+ materials, 10,000+ textures, 2000+ sounds, 3000+ particle systems, 600+ character assets, 600+ animation sets
-Animals are particle effects
-Mod templates included
-Dev mode will be unlocked for modders: dev console via SDK, map debugger, LOS debuggers, fog of war debugger, marketing mode (no UI/icons, free camera movement)
-Firaxis used mod tools to solve bugs
-Hot seat mode allows you to control everything
-Replay mode comes with stock game, lets you replay events from your saves, works with SDK
-Modders can mod multiplayer, multiplayer supports more stuff from singleplayer

-3 types of maps: plots, parcels, PCPs
-Plots tell game where to load things, changing plot layouts creates new levels
-Parcels: small, medium, large, contain structures and are complicated to make
-PCPs (plot cover parcels): handle cover on roads
-Some missions are restricted to some plot types to ensure variety
-Plots are designed to contrast with each other
-Maps can be switched between biomes on the fly in the mod tools/game(?)
-XCOM 2's real time lighting means that you can make time based equipment
-Tactical Quick Launch mode is debug mode that can serve as skirmish mode (build maps, pick your soldiers, set the enemy forces)
-SDK documentation included
And here's a good article showing screenshots of the modding stuff:

So after Beaglerush 12+ hours stream on the review build, I've noticed quite some good bits of info:

-Aside from the Blacksite, destroying a Codex trough the skulljacker event will take 2 bars off the Avatar project counter.
-Plasma Grenades are OP, those things reliable destroy ANY cover.
-There's a way to do a new version of the Beaglerush Maneuver
-The Meme Beacon WILL save your bacon, so always carry at least two of those things
-Deadeye is useless (currently Pure Sniper build for the Sharpshooter needs a buff)
-Building one armor/weapon unlocks them for ALL soldiers

That's not really the "Beaglerush Maneuver" per se though, seeing as the basis of said maneuver is activating overwatch from concealment by having a soldier out in the open. The Kill Zone tactic on the other hand also technically allows the same benefits, but from behind cover. Much like how you wouldn't call a Spaghetti an "Udon" despite both being noodles with topping, the Kill Zone tactic isn't the Beaglerush Maneuver.

On the actual tactic itself, while it is more effective than the Beaglerush Maneuver, it also requires soldiers to have the Kill Zone perk, and the only class that can reliably get that are Sharpshooters.

Actually Beagle himself mentioned early on in a reddit post regarding that issue that Deadeye is most useful for high-ranked snipers who already have tons of aim from aim bonus stacking, i.e. stacking all the bonuses from height advantage, scopses, PCS, Tracer Rounds, etc. basically where your sniper already has so much aim that the Deadeye penalty becomes negligible.

In last night's stream however, he hasn't actually reached that point yet (his highest-ranking sniper only reached Captain rank, and he didn't have all the aim stacking he might've had due to his early-game bad luck).

So Deadeye is pretty much the kind of perk that only pays off in the late game.

I actually pre-ordered this game and feel fucking confident. I usually have some doubt but I have utmost confidence about it after hearing everything about the game. I know that pre-ordering game is not the smartest thing but for once I will give in.

I did as well. Normally I feel the same way about pre-ordering, but in the case of XCOM 2 I made an exception because I enjoyed the first game and I've seen so much of the gameplay for the sequel that I have good confidence that it's going to be great. And since I planned getting it day one anyway, I might as well just preorder since it's the same thing in the end.

So the Devs will have their very own Character Pool you can use for free, featuring... well, the Devs themselves.

Here's an album of the full character pool for those interested.

I'm probably going to spend half as much time making up my character pool as playing the campaign.

And as an X-COM tradition, you watch them die in their very first mission from a critital hit through full cover.

XCOM 2 has a campaign? I thought it was a dress-up game

My friend already died in the game.

Aside from my friend, Yoshinori Ono died as well.
