Of course. He became Yukino's family stool, he lost his charm, that's what I (and others) liked from him.

While I won't deny this series was hurt by the hiatus, I feel that it was hurt by the horrendous pacing and drama even before that. Early on in the series when there was character drama, it was at least resolved within the the volume or the next one on top of being padded with dark humor that still lightened the mood. For example, when Hachiman shut down Yui and gave his "I hate kind people" monologue, it was resolved in the next book. When the cultural festival mess started in volume 5, it was resolved in volume 6. Meanwhile, ever since book 7 (or the S2 anime content), Hachiman's self-loathing and the Service Club tension lasts for over 2 books before they ever resolve it, and Hachiman is too busy being a martyr to poke fun into the series like he used to in the initial half, now third of the series. When he messed things up during the Kyoto trip at the end of volume 7, they would not make amends until after the Christmas arc at the end of volume 9. Now since the Christmas arc ended and we ended up getting into Yukino's family drama, we've come yet again into this spiral where there's little respite from the drama because Hachiman is too miserable to crack as many jokes as he used to, but now because of the long hiatus, we also don't have a payoff like the Christmas arc. Sure, we always knew Hachiman was a flawed character and that he would eventually have to pay for his mistakes, but the charm that he had early on in the series when he was making jabs at his fellow classmates has been greatly diminished now that he's too preoccupied with his own drama. The series is named "My Youth Romantic Comedy...", but the comedy part from our main protagonist has been sorely missing ever since the Christmas arc ended. |

Yukino in the cover for the last vol, nothing surprising there. I just want to see how this ends because the writing went down the toilet long ago, add to that the constant delays and you end up with this.
There are only 2 options here, 8man either ends up with Yukino or alone. Either way sensei was always the best girl. |

Yukino looked like she either waved goodbye or hello. Either way, I’m guessing he’ll end up alone. But I don’t mind or care if he end up with someone. At this point, just wanna know the ending, whatever it may be.
