Judging from the three other series whose character data I have handy (Da Capo, Kanon, Shuffle!) the SHnY girls are in the average range for height, thought they are closer to the shorter end of the scale. (They match up best with the Da Capo group) I also thought for sure that Yuki was the shortest SOS Dan member - it is hard to believe that Mikuru is a full 2 cm. shorter! By comparison Mikuru is shorter than Ayu from Kanon and Miharu from Da Capo, and is only 1 cm. taller than Primula from Shuffle!. Closest comparative match-up in terms of height and build would appear to be Nerine from Shuffle!.

Kyon is taller than Junichi from Da Capo and is in the middle of the average range for RL Japanese boys his age.

It's hard to believe, but if that is official character data in the picture that Noppapana posted earlier then it is true! Since this is an image thread, I'll post the related data as an image.

IMO, Mikuru does not appear to be as short as she is because - with the possible exception of Itsuki - none of the rest of the SHnY crew is very tall either. The opposite sort of perspective applies to Ayu in Kanon: she looks very short because the characters she is usually seen with are mostly taller than average.

I don't think anyone has said that the future Asahina in the picture is wearing high heels. That could add the cm for a bit of the hight growth (and the lack of numerical hight above the head)..

Guys, can we move this extended conversation to one discussion threads? May I suggest the thread for Episode 2 (a.f.k. count), as Mikuru's small stature (as well as her cuteness and breast size) was addressed directly by Haruhi and Kyon during the second half. Thanks.

I think they were just lazy and didn't want to draw new, standing-up-straight pictures for the characters, so they reused the official front view pictures. The heights are official for the characters when they are barefooted.
