Spoiler for Pornstar!Vivio pt. 12:
~**~
Vivio opened her car door and got out, reaching behind her seat to get the bag of consumables from a fast food joint along the way. 'Hope she likes tacos...' She jogged briefly to get out of the cold weather and went inside the store, getting greeted at once by Syn who wasn't even looking at her. The blue haired girl was stocking a shelf full of different styles of shirts and arranging them in order. Vivio walked up behind her and reached forward, grabbing Syn's bra strap and pulling back lightly before letting go, making it snap back into place with a loud pop. The girl yelled and turned around, one hand reaching out to grab the person's neck but stopped short when she saw who it was.
"Vivio! For the love of-" She trailed off and turned around angrily. "I was going to hit you!"
"Wow, bad day?"
"Horrible." Syn shoved a shirt onto the shelf and growled. "One thing after another."
Vivio felt bad that she had played the prank and lifted up her bag to show the peace offering. "I brought you some lunch?"
Syn turned and looked at the bag and gave a soft sigh. "Thank you. Really, I was going to work through my lunch because I can't afford anything."
"If you need to borrow some-"
"No." A shaking of the head. "I don't like borrowing money. Besides, you said you were tight as well."
"I did another job, I just got paid." She followed Syn behind the counter and into a break area for employees. "Is it okay if I'm back here?"
"Yes, I think. Saharet-san is nice. Now...What goodies did you bring me?" Syn eagerly opened the bag and started taking things out. "You get enough?"
"Hungry." Vivio snatched what she wanted and opened it. "Eat all you want."
Syn shoved the food into her face and and chewed a few times to savor the taste. "Mmm, I love these. I'd much rather get junk food than spend a thousand-some yen to get something from a sit-down restaurant."
"They're good sometimes." Vivio mused. "But generally I like fast-food. I can cook so my lunches are generally not healthy."
"How do you stay in shape?" Syn licked her fingers after seeing that they were shafted on napkins.
Vivio laughed. "I go to a gym for aerobics, the place I work for pays for it. Twice a week, Tuesday and Friday nights. Besides that, I like to jog. It's nice to just listen to music and run. One of my mothers was a really big fan of morning jogs so I followed."
"I want to see something you've starred in." Syn took a long drink from her straw.
"I really feel embarrassed about people I know watching..."
"Mou, at least tell me what they were? You never talk about your job." Before Vivio could reply a new person walked into the break room.
"Syn, I thought you were going to work- oh hello." Saharet looked at Vivio. "you're Syn's girlfriend, right?"
"Yes," Syn answered.
"We're just dating," Vivio answered at the same time, kicking Syn lightly under the table. "I'm sorry to come back here un-announced."
"It's fine." Saharet waved it off, the chains on her jeans jiggling from the motion. "Anyway, Syn can you work late tonight? Laith had to cancel his shift."
Syn looked positively sick at the thought but nodded anyway. "Sure, be glad to."
"Thanks," Saha waved at them and left.
When the coast was clear, the girl face-palmed. "Great. I just want to scream."
"Why is your day so bad?"
Leaning back in her chair, Syn took another long drink. "It'd take forever to tell you, but mainly it's just idiots. You would not believe how many stupid people come in here... move things around, make a mess, and I have to straighten it all back up only to have it moved again."
"I'm sorry to hear that... tell you what, how about you come over tonight? I'll... give you a massage."
"You know how to massage?"
"Not really, no." Vivio laughed. "But sometimes I really feel like I could use one after a long day so I thought I'd offer... what do you say?"
"Do my feet too?"
Vivio laughed at the odd request. "Sure, I'll rub your feet."
"That would be great after standing all day. When will you be home?"
"I need to deposit my check after I leave here, then I'm heading home, so whenever."
"Okay then." Syn looked at the clock. "Well, I need to get back to work."
Vivio started gathering their trash and looked around for a wastebin to toss it in, being spared the trouble when Syn took it to toss across the room into the trashcan. "I'll see you later then."
Syn spoke out as Vivio turned. "No kiss?"
The blond looked behind herself and stuck out her tongue. "You wouldn't want a kiss until I brush my teeth."
Syn laughed. "Silly, I don't mind taco breath."
Vivio grinned like a cat. " I'll give you a kiss tonight, if you behave yourself."
"I always behave!"
Vivio walked to the door of the store with Syn in tow. "You tell everyone I'm your girlfriend."
"I want you to be."
"Maybe I would be, if you asked." Vivio waved and closed the door before Syn could reply.

...I demand a change. I canīt be working under that do... errh wolf.
With driving assignments decided, the group was ushered into the awaiting modified Evac Transports in the Vehicle Factory. The four Scout operators had their own transport due to consolidate all the equipment needed to store the data they hoped to retrieve from Eden's Advance Labs. The remaining workers were split between the last two to operate the new Microwave Lynxes. Inside she found the vehicle gutted with operation consoles set up on either side. Each console consisted of three monitors and a console with steering wheel and other necessary controls to operate the Lynxes.
"Alright, listen up," came the voice of the mission head through the speakers in the transport since he has taken up station in the other vehicle. "The consoles in front of you have been set up to replicate the set up in the cabs of the Lynxes. They are the same standard used in other vehicles except with an additional section for weapon operation."
Glancing to the right-hand side of her console, Nanoha noticed the addition mentioned. A joystick with trigger and several button on its base was mounted next to the steering wheel set up.
"All Lynxes have been installed with recognition software with the profiles of the two known Eden weapons in them. Should your Lynx enter firing range of one of them, it will automatically engage the target leaving you free to concentrate on driving. However, should the software fail, the turret can be manually operated by engaging the 'Manual' button and using the joystick to move the turret and trigger to fire. In both modes a targeting cursor on your screen will indicate where the turret is directed. When it changes to red it indicates it has locked onto a target and will remain focused on that target until it is destroyed or canceled. All vehicles are currently set to follow us. They will be brought under your control when we near Eden. Until then, familiarize yourself with your console."
The speakers went dead with an audible click. leaving the four of them. With a shrug each picked a console and sat down to inspect it. Nanoha looked over hers and noted the close resemblance to the controls in a ConVec or Cargo Truck. Thankfully whoever had designed the set up also installed the adjustment components functional. Having done it numerous times, it took Nanoha only a few minutes to get the control to where she liked them. What she did note was that the chairs were a bit more comfortable than what she usually sat in to drive.
She then turned her attention to the foreign weapon control. Part of her didn't want to have anything to do with it while another wanted to do whatever she could to find answers. An LCD display between the steering wheel and joystick contained trivial bits about the Lynx it was connected to like power, weapon power, reserve fuel levels, and estimated integrity. The three screens were active, displaying a panoramic view of what was in front of the vehicle as it sped along with the convoy. From her guess the three cameras looked mounted just behind the protective window of the cab. The rust-looking New Terra dust was kicked up as they drove forward, blowing over the front of her Lynx.
For the next few hours the four talked amongst themselves. The topic thankfully left their current situation and became more casual with the usual small talk and complaints about work. A slight jerk of the vehicle alerted its occupants that they had arrived at their destination. Nanoha look a glance outside one of the windows and noticed it was past dusk already. That would mean they would be going in at night.
"For safety reasons we have stopped a few miles short of the Eden. The rest of the distance shall be covered by the recon vehicles. It will also give you an opportunity to get used to operating the Lynx."
Sitting at her console, Nanoha noticed the display on the LCD screen changed to read 'Manual' indicating that the Lynx was now under her control. She took a breath and gripped the vehicle. The headlights illuminated the ground in front her as she eased on the accelerator to get a feel for it. On the screen the ground slowly passed by as she picked up speed. While it was no different than driving any other vehicle, it lacked the vibrations of the uneven ground, the sound of rocks bouncing off the metal hull. She probably shouldn't complain since the remote operation would keep her safe should her Lynx get damaged or destroyed but it just didn't feel complete to her.
The recon party drove on for another hour in the darkness, the only illumination being from their own lights and the single moon above. Each display did have a topographical map on it to indicate their position as well as the other vehicles. Soon they saw the lights of their former home coming up upon them. It was time for the mission to start.
"Your maps have four Advance Labs marked on them that we believe are intact enough to collect data from as well as our planned route to reach each one. However, that route can change depending on what resistance we encounter so stay alert. Remember, the Scouts must be kept safe. Without them we have no mission."
With that they sped off into the colony. The four Scouts took center in the haphazard formation, reducing their speeds to match that of the slower Lynxes. As they had been told, the colony was still powered which lit up the entire area and gave them a much longer sight range than just their headlights. However, that could also mean the rogue units could also see them, depending on how good their sensors were. Nanoha watched the structures as she drove by. Many were familiar to her from when she lived here and others were foreign, obviously created after the colony split.
Incoming enemy units.
The computer announcement surprised the girl, making her go stiff for a moment. They had been spotted which meant they were going to engage in combat. She was going to have to fight, even if it was by remote control. A trio of dots appeared on her map, indicating the location of the Eden Lynxes. The Scouts stopped and followed behind the Microwave Lynxes as they turned to engage the threat. A red beam of light shot from one of the enemy Lynxes impacted the ground, barely missing one of them. She spun her wheel to the right, taking her Lynx around the side of the three Lynxes. The firing cursor jumped to her left screen and turned red. Next thing she knew the targeted Lynx rocked as a large scorch mark appeared on its armor.
She had fired. While she had not pulled the trigger, she had still indirectly fired at an Eden unit. Her Microwave Lynx continued to circle the three other Lynxes and fire. The others drove erratically, hoping to dodge the oncoming fire. Then one of the trio had its side blown wide open and fell on its side. Plymouth had claimed its first 'kill.' The remaining two were quickly dispatched by the greater number of Plymouth units. With the last threat done, they paused for a moment to let the situation sink in.
"Let's get going people. We have to get the data before the labs degrade any further."
The commanding voice broke them out of their trances. Hands on their wheel, they resumed their trek to the first lab. They would encounter four more Lynxes on the way which were quickly destroyed. In the distance they could make out the familiar shape of an Advance Lab.
Enemy Guard Post detected.
A quick look to the left showed a large laser turret mounted in the ground next to the Advance Lab. While not mobile like the Lynxes they fought so far it looked stronger and more armored.
Incoming enemy units.
Four red dots appeared on the map, approaching from their right.

Okay, I need to ask you guys something. I was thinking over chapter one of my fic, and for some reason this little detail has been bugging the heck out of me all day.
Originally I planned to have Nanoha be fifteen when she meets up with Fate, Yuuno, and Hayate again, to keep true to the timeskip in A's. However, lately I've been wondering if maybe I should push her age up to seventeen, since that seems to be a common age for her in AU fics and fics focused on her pre-StrikerS anyway.
I'm not totally sure. Fifteen would be easier to write in accordance to canon, I think, but seventeen seems really popular by fanfiction standards. What do you guys have to say?

This is strictly my own opinion and even then I diverge from it at times: It essentially boils down to yourself.
If the fic itself sticks to canon for most situations (timeline-wise) then I would recommend going with canon. However, if any other age suits you better, go for it, I don't think most people in FFT would see that as a problem.
However, choosing an age due to popularity might not be the best solution. You are the writer, not popularity in itself.

Well, you can always go rebel and put them at 16 XD. Talking seriously, depends on the direction and ypur preference. Dont make decisions out of popularity.

Thanks. ^__^
I don't know why it's bothering me so much. I originally wanted to keep her at fifteen since it's easier on me canon-wise and serves, in a way, as an alternate ending to the events of A's. I guess I've been reading too many fanfics.
Still, I wanna see what other people say before I decide for sure...
A) Engage the Guard Post first
B) Engage the enemy Lynxes first
C) Change to Fate's PoV
From earth I appear. Of fire I am made. To serve my sole mistress, my master.
I might be powerful and I might be the king of dragons. That does not mean I do not serve my mistress in times of need.
I swore an oath with my mistress. To protect. To serve. I have never broken that oath. I never shall.
As long as my mistress demands it, I will protect her. I will not fail. I will always stand ready.
You have called me once again my master. I shall yet again arise. Arise, from the earth. Arise, with flames amongst my side and fire inside my sole being. Behold, my mistress, the power of dragons once again.
I am Voltaire. King of the dragons and your servant.
From earth I appear. Of fire I am made. To serve you, my master, my mistress.
Tired. Bored. Wanted to write something. And Voltaire don't get enough love.
I like it, there isn't anything about Voltaire in the thread, and it was really sweet.

Hmmm, almost got Vivio to talk about her job, but of course timely interruptions.

Which is easier for you? I doesn't matter to me personally. It's your story. Remember WWYD (what would you do) not WWUD (what would a unicorn do).
Vivio panted, laying back against the cushions of her pillows and closed her eyes weakly as she recovered. A few moments passed by before she took a deep breath and let out a small giggle. "Wow," She exhaled the word before slowly twisting the bottom of an object next to her. "That was amazing...." Moving forward, she crawled along her bed to where her video camera was on it's stand and smiled at it. "Thank you for the request, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did." She gave a playful wink and blew a kiss into the camera before reaching up and clicking it off.
Now free of being recorded, the girl started to clean up the small mess that she made. Her body was wiped lightly with a towel and the bedsheets were quickly stripped down to go into the washing machine. As she walked through the living room, she jumped lightly when a knock came on her door. "Wh-who is it?"
"Syn!" A voice sang out on the other side.
'Crap!' Vivio quickly shoved her sheets into the washer and ran back to her room. "J-just a second Syn! I'm, um, just out of shower!" She scrambled to get her camera stand down and placed her camcorder into it's case after removing the memory stick and placing it on her desk next to her laptop. After hiding the case in her closet she grabbed her disregarded clothes and put them on, almost falling over while trying to zip up her jeans while walking at the same time. "Coming!" She smoothed out her clothes and took a deep breath before opening the door to allow Syn inside. "Hey!"
"Hi," Syn looked at her curiously. "You get dried off that fast?"
Vivio repressed a gasp, realizing that her shower lie was completely obvious since she wasn't wet. "Uhm, I got dried off and did my hair but wasn't dressed."
"Oh, you're the type to walk around naked in your house?"
"Just got off work." Syn moved to the couch when Vivio patted the top of it and sat down. "I don't want to go home to an empty place soooo hi. You mind?"
"Not at all!" Vivio laughed nervously. "I was just cleaning."
"I can help?" Syn stood back up and smiled when Vivio frantically motioned with her hands. "Oh come on." She moved around Vivio and started going to the bedroom. "Let me see your room? I can clean it for you."
"No!" Vivio almost fell over chasing the girl.
"Nice room." Syn looked around and quickly turned to Face Vivio when the girl dived on the bed and shoved things off the side between the bed and wall. "What was that!?"
"I tripped!" Vivio kicked her leg out, knocking one more thing out of sight. "I- I hurt my leg and... I tripped!"
Syn looked at the girl oddly. "Okay... You're not hiding anything are you?"
"NO!"
".......I see." Syn smirked, moving to look under the bed and almost getting tackled by a frantic Vivio.
"Let's go get food! A date! leave, let's go now!"
"Hahaha, okay. That was easy." Syn was dragged by Vivio, grinning at the red tipped ears of the blond. 'I wonder what she was hiding from me?'

"I used to not." Syn replied easily. She stopped her walking and made Vivio pause as well to allow her to look into the windows of a store. "I work in there."
"Really?" The blond moved past Syn and went inside, pulling the blue haired one after her.
"H-hey, don't go in!"
"You wouldn't have brought me here if you didn't want me to see where you worked." The words struck home and Syn had a rare moment of being silent while Vivio looked around the semi-large clothing store.
A new voice made both girls look to the side where a woman greeted them. "Back already, Virage-san?" A woman stood in front of them with a smile. A French accent was noticeable in her language and a furry jacket covered most of her body.
Syn cleared her throat and stepped forward. "Vivio, this is Saharet-san, my boss. Saharet-san, this is Vivio, my girlfriend."
"Oh!?" The woman smiled.
"News to me," Vivio shot the girl down with a grin. "Two dates doesn't mean we're dating."
"Aw come on," Syn insisted, getting a laugh from her boss who had to edscuse herself to greet another customer. "You know you want to."
"Maybe," Vivio evaded her while looking around at the gothic style clothing with a mix of interest and curiosity. "You like this kind of clothes?"
"Sort of, not really." Syn dropped the topic and instead simply followed her friend around. "You should try some on."
Vivio hummed. "So you brought me here to see me change clothes?"
"Yes."
"Well... okay." Vivio turned and smiled at Syn. "Pick something out and I'll try it on."

"Okay," Vivio took them and smiled. "Where's the changing room?"
"Over here," the two walked to the back of the store and split up. Syn sat down on a stool and waited patiently while listening to the sounds of clothes rustling around the corner and out of sight. A long silent moment passed before Vivio poked her head around around the corner.
"This is kind of embarrassing..."
Syn laughed to herself and shook her head. "Come on, let's see!" Her smile widened at the view of the girl before her. Black and white striped stockings covered the girl's legs to her mid-thighs where a leather miniskirt took over. Chains looped from the front center of the skirt and went around her side before connecting at the back. The white camisole had a thorned rose design on the front and was covered by an open button up long sleeve that was dark black with green and red glitter on it making up more rose designs. Finally a studded collar went around Vivio's neck to complete the outfit. "Hey, not too bad!"
"I feel funny in this." The blond blushed but still twirled for her date. "You like this kind of stuff afteral."
"Only on others." Syn took in the sight and felt herself blush softly when Vivio started posing for her. "Hey... you're pretty good at that."
The green and red eyed girl let out a small giggle while striking another pose and blowing a kiss towards Syn. Turning, she went back into the changing room and got back into her normal outfit, handing the other back to Syn to replace. "Enjoy?"
"Do I only get one show?"
"For now. I'll pose for you later if you want."
Syn smirked, taking vivio's hand and walking with her out of the store. "I'll hold you to that."
The air rushed around them once they were in the cold again and Vivio moved a strand of hair behind her ear. "What do you want to do now?"

Spoiler for section 2 (B):
Syn thought about the question for a moment. "There is a really good icecream place near here? My treat?"
The blond covered her giggle with her free hand. "It's freezing and you want ice cream?"
"I thought you would be the type to eat cold things on a cold day."
Vivio pondered the statement. "Really? What makes you say that?" A small nudge made Syn start walking to the ice cream parlor. "Are you trying to say I'm cold blooded?"
"Maybe," the teasing tone came back, getting a laugh. "You have a cute laugh."
Vivio blushed yet again. "Really?"
"Yes... and the way you blush so much is adorable."
"Mou!" Vivio looked away. "Stop it, you're embarrassing me..." She felt her hand being held just a little tighter and her heart skipped a beat. 'I've never been hit on like this before... She's honestly flirting with me... It is so much differnt than when acting...' Syn cocked her head to the side with a silent question as to why it suddenly went quiet. "Thank you."
"For what?"
"Making me smile."
Syn rolled her eyes and got a laugh while guiding her friend into the ice cream place. "I'll buy, just don't get a big one..."
"Want to share one?" Vivio raised an eyebrow. "Not afraid of getting cooties?"
"I'll give you cooties." Syn pinched Vivio's side playfully, getting a yelp and a laugh. "What do you want?"
"You pick."
"Flavor then?"
"Mix."
Syn made eye contact with the person behind the counter. "Give us a cookie dough ice cream with fudge and caramel." A few moments later, and almost broke Syn later, the two sat across from each other at a small table with the ice cream between them.
A.) Feed ice cream to Vivio
B.) Take turns eating it

Spoiler for section three (B):
Syn picked up the spoon in the treat and scooped some up. "Dibs on first bite." She put it in her mouth and licked it clean before handing it to Vivio. "Yum."
Vivio shook her head in amusement beofre taking a bite herself. "Ooh, it is good." She got another small bite before handing the spoon back to her friend. "They could have at least given us two spoons."
"Probably thought we would feed each other."
"Ew, no. I swore that I would never, ever allow myself to do that." She took the spoon back after a few moments and got another bite, even breaking some of the waffle cone bowl to go with it. "Thank you for the treat."
"You thank me too much."
Vivio blinked, holding the spoon in her mouth for a moment while thinking. "Do I?"
"Yes. Yes you do." Syn reached forward and plucked the utensil from teh girl's mouth and dived back into the cold treat.
When their snack was completed the two walked back outside and shivered in the wind. "I should have worn a jacket or something."
Syn hummed softly while walking alongside the girl, finding her hand being taken once more. "Sorry I don't have one to offer you."
"It's okay, it would be funny anyway. You're really tomboyish you know that?"
"So I've been told." Syn sighed out. "I know I am, doesn't really bother me but it's annoying when my mom tells me to be more lady-like."
"How so?" She pressed on for more information.
Syn clicked her tongue while thinking. "Just to wear more makeup, meet a nice boy, settle down, get married, have kids..."
"And you're hitting on me."
"I put on makeup for you too." Syn leaned closer so Vivio would have no choice but to notice the slight eye liner on the girl.
Vivio giggled, breath starting to fog as she exhaled now. "You're trying really hard."
"I like you, you're fun."
Vivio gave a heart felt smile at her. "Thank you, that means a lot."
Syn looked forward again and started walking towards the rest of the strip mall.

Spoiler for section 4 (D):
Vivio shivered again, walking a little closer to Syn as they made their way past the final store. "Not a very big mall is it?"
"Not really, but it's nice. It makes for slow days at work." The girl looked down at the shivering one next to her. "It's getting late, we should head back before you catch a cold."
"Yeah, it's a little chilly." Vivio walked alongside Syn back to the car and got in once the door was opened for her. "I won't thank you this time." To answer her the door was closed and a tongue stuck out. Once the heat was turned on, the younger blond put her hands over the vents and bounced her legs in an attempt to get some kinetic energy to warm herself. "Is there a cold front moving in or something?"
"Yes," came the reply. "They were talking about it at work." The reply got her a hand to hold and the trip back to Vivio's apartment building was made while listening to the radio with random comments along the way.
As Vivio stood in front of her door she looked over at Syn and pondered the next step. The blue haired girl was standing in front of her, holding both her hands, and looking down into her eyes.
A.) Try and kiss Vivio
B.) Try and hug Vivio
C.) Smile and wave

Spoiler for Section 5 (D):
"I had fun tonight," Syn began while looking down into the girl's eyes. "I'm glad you let me stay, I don't want to be home alone tonight."
Vivio rubbed Syn's palms and nodded at her. "I'd ask you inside for a while, but I have to do laundry before I can get in bed so I won't be able to entertain you any." She noticed the depressed look that was quickly covered. "But... How about this?" Moving up on her toes, she gently kissed the girl on her lips. "For treating me to a nice night."
Syn reached up with one hand to touch her lips, a lopsided smile appearing on them. "Anytime... I'll see you later?"
"Yes," Vivio nodded at her. "I'll come visit you at work sometime too?"
"Please." The two looked at each other a moment more before Syn finally moved away and waved lightly. "Bye then."
"Bai-bai." Vivio waved back and waited until Syn was in the elevator down the hall before going into her apartment. turning on the lights, she smiled to herself and started to start her sheets to get clean. "I kissed her... hehe, she is a horrible kisser."
After getting her laundry going, the girl made her way to her bedroom. Laying down, she recovered the earlier hidden objects under her bed and cleaned them before stashing in her designated drawer for them. Her shirt was taken off, followed by her pants and bra before an extra long and baggy Tee was slid over her body to cover it. The girl sat down at her laptop and plugged in the earlier discarded memory stick to upload the video to her computer. "Let's see... Alright, he paid me already." With a smile she tapped the keyboard and confirmed the sending of her recent video to the fan and was rewarded with a pleasant beep to confirm that it was received.
"I have that, but thanks to my dates with Syn, I'm still a little behind... and rent is coming up." She spoke aloud while typing at her keyboard. "Maybe I can get lucky and pose for a magazine..." After entering in her username and password at her company's website she checked her notices and almost pumped her fist up in excitement at the opening. "Rent and bills payed!" she typed in her name and confirmed her contract. "Tomorrow at noon."
Now with her business taken care of, Vivio closed her laptop and moved to gather the dirty clothes laying around to prepare her next load. "Maybe I should visit Syn tomorrow after my shoot..." Her tongue licked her lips subconsciously and a happy thought made her giggle to herself. "I'll do that... She's really a nice girl."

This PS!V is a little more mature. No hentai or lemons, but more so than my normal stuff. AKA Vivio at her job and speaking about it a little. Why I chose to put this in is because it shows how Vivio thinks about her job and her confusion about real emotion.
Spoiler for Pornstar!Vivio pt.11:
"And we're done!" The voice came up, pleased, at the short photo session. "Good job!"
Vivio smiled and called out her good jobs while someone brought her a robe to cover herself with. Once her body was hidden she made small talk with her friend that did the shoot with her. "That went really fast, I'll have time to get some food before meeting with Syn."
"Syn?" The man asked curiously, opening the door for Vivio to let her into the hallways of the building. "Who is that?"
"Oh, that girl I met when we all went to the bar a while back, remember? I took her drunk butt home and let her sleep on my couch and we became friends."
"So you're bringing her lunch?" he nudged her. "Sounds like you have a crush!"
"Oh please." Vivio nudged back and allowed him into her personal dressing room to get dressed. Disregarding her robe, she went to her small shower section and turned on the water while her friend simply started putting his clothes on. "We just met... a week ago? Maybe two?"
"How many dates?" He pondered.
"Three." Vivio started washing her hair with the soapy shampoo. "Are you not going to shower, Space?" She teased him by calling her friend by his stage name.
"The wife is waiting for me at home." He sat down to put on socks and then his shoes. "I promised I'd take her and the little ones to an amusement park once I got money for this shoot." A knock came on the door. "Speaking of, mind if I answer?"
"Go ahead." Vivio turned so her back was to the door and started finishing her rinse. She heard her friend get their paychecks and cut off the water once she was clean. "How much?"
"Two hundred for me, four for you." He handed the check over. "That's sexist."
"I'm a star," Vivio reminded him, sticking out her tongue. "Don't complain, a few of my fans would kill you if they heard you complain about getting paid to sex me up."
"Tell your fans they can have you, your ass is all bone. I'm going to have a bruise."
"Hey!" Vivio swatted at him. "My butt is cute!" She looked back at it while pulling up her underwear. "I'm so going to post that on my webpage, get you some hate mail.
"Meanie." He pet the girl on the head playfully. "So, this girl...?"
Vivio felt her cheeks color slightly while pulling on her jeans. "I... kind of like her..."
"Kind of?"
"Well..." She sighed. "I'm not sure... I mean... I've never dated anyone before... but her hand is really warm..."
"Vivio," He spoke her real name and put his hands on her shoulders to get the girl to look at him. "Love is really complicated, and our profession makes it even more so. I know that it's empty out there in front of the cameras, but a real relationship is full of emotions... If you ever feel confused or lost, come talk to me okay? I've been through it all before I got married."
"...Thanks." She gave the man a hug and squeezed him. "I may have to take you up on that."
"I hope not," He teased her again, ruffling her hair. "Now go get this girlfriend of yours some food."
"She's not my girlfriend!"
"Yet"
Vivio rocked on her heels and looked away. "...Yet. Maybe. MAYBE! Don't laugh!" She threw her shoe at him.

"Maybe I would be, if you asked." Vivio waved and closed the door before Syn could reply.
awww. vivio and syn ftw!!! i likw syn veeeeery much.
"And cut!" The director called out, pleased. "That'll do it! Thanks for your work!"
A few calls of 'nice job!' or 'good show!' rang out as the few people on the set started wrapping up. I was given a robe to cover my body by an assistant, who also complimented me on another well done job.
I smiled at them and made my way to my dressing room. 'Vivio Takamachi' was written on a star on the door and the cool air inside made me sigh out pleasantly. I removed my robe and made my way to the small section that was boxed off with glass and had a small shower head above it. The water rushed over my body and I began to lather my luffa to wash away the sweat clinging to me and my hair.
My life wasn't what I expected it to be. Growing up, I had always expected to be some type of mage, to fight alongside my mothers and protect people... Now...after that incident...
I shook my head to clear it. There was no point in looking into the past. I was twenty two now, and my mothers were in heaven. I had made it on my own for six years now and despite what some people think, being a porn star wasn't as bad as it's made out to be.
I was famous, very famous, and was paid good money for just one shoot. I worked for a company that gave me full benefits as well as a paycheck for a few hours of work that rivaled most people's two weeks.
Still, sometimes I reflected back on everything I had done. At first I was desperate, losing my military benefits when I turned eighteen, and couldn't seem to find a job. I was hungry, starving actually, but too proud to live off my parent's friends. Odd how that pride made me where I am now. It was harmless at first, just a few photos for a lingerie magazine, and then I received a letter for an interview as a model. I took it for the money, and gradually showed more skin before I was scouted by this company.
"Vivio, the hottest thing to happen to adult films," they had proclaimed. I was flattered and shocked and scared all at the same time... The first film made me cry at night, ashamed that I sold my virginity for money.
... But I needed food, I needed rent, and no one knew about what I had done. The second scene was worse and I actually threw up that night. Lying in bed, hugging myself, crying how I shamed my mothers...
Then the third scene, the fourth, the fifth... I became used to it, and people started to get to know me. I wasn't like the bimbos that walked around sometimes, and I actually made friends. They comforted me, and explained things to me. I was treated with respect, and not like some slut.
Actually, I became really good friends with a few of them, and I no longer felt ashamed at what I was doing. It was a job, and the producers were respectable. My list of "will dos" was small and simple, and my first feature video was very tasteful, as it had a real story and only one sex scene.
It sold out and pulled a record for most sells. I released a sequel, which also was well done, and broke my own record for that one. From then on out, I was a "star" and not just "an employee".
I was making it on my own, and I didn't think my mothers would be ashamed of me, even if I was an adult film maker. I did my best, and work didn't reflect my personal life. I was very reserved with myself and didn't even show off my stomach when dressing casually. I had a modeling job on the side, also released by this company, that was very well respected. In fact, I might even be getting a contract to be a regular in it.
My life was pretty good, and I was proud of myself for being able to go from the shattered little girl I was to a mature adult.
I think my mothers would be proud that I never gave up hope.

Vivio laughed at the joke that was just told and shook her head in an amused manor. Her friends were all drunk and were currently having a contest to see who could eat the most spicy wings in a row without drinking anything. As to not get caught up in the contest herself, the girl excused herself from the table and walked to the bar of the nightclub. She sat next to a blue haired girl and ordered a strawberry daiquiri to sip on while the harder stuff settled in her stomach.
"Hey," The girl spoke to her after a few moments. "What brings a pretty little thing like yourself here?"
Vivio looked to the side and grinned, slightly tipsy, at the mis-matched eyes looking at her. One red, one blue, the Heterochromia was pronounced fully. "Are you hitting on me?"
"Yup." The woman propped her cheek up on her palm and looked at Vivio with an amused smile. It was obvious she was crossing onto the drunk side but the cheerful expression on her face made Vivio stay at her seat.
"I'm celebrating a new DVD release," Vivio answered the first question asked of her.
"Oh? Favorite movie come out?" A smile came paired with a giggle. "I'm Syn, by the way."
"Vivio," she introduced herself. "And no, I work for a company that just finished one. It should be on the market in a few weeks."
"Hmmmmm," Syn hummed while chewing on this information. "Better than me."
"What do you do?"
Syn suddenly looked a little sad and crossed her arms on the bar before resting her chin on them. "I got fired today."
"Oh, I'm sorry..."
The blue haired one closed her eyes. "My boss was hitting on me earlier and I turned him down... A few days later I'm fired for something so stupid it doesn't even make sense..."
"I see..." Vivio felt sad for the girl sitting next to her. 'Such a pretty little thing too... No wonder she's drowning her woes.'
"...and I don' know how I'm going to pay my bills," Syn was still talking, eyes lightly glazed. "I'm already a month behind on my rent...." She looked lightly as the bartender came to her, giving the look of if she wanted another glass or not.
Vivio took the bottle the man was holding and filled up Syn's small glass with it. "Go ahead, it's on me."
"...Thanks." She took a drink and gave it an appreciative look. "You said your name was Vivio?"
"Mmmhn."
"Pretty name." Syn turned to face her once more.
"So," Vivio spoke sleepily, barely keeping herself up anymore. "What.... What now?" The bar around them was closing and her friends had long since gone off on their own. "Syn... Syn?" She looked at her new friend, who was apparently too drunk to even speak anymore. The blond tried to stand up but quickly sat back down. "Ugh..." Looking at the bartender, she reluctantly requeted the obvious. "Cab?"
"Coming up," He told her, pleased to help out the customer that spent so much money that night. "Can you pay your tab tonight, Eyes?"
Vivio groaned. "Can I just give you part? Bills coming up." She tried desperately to think of how much she could part with. "Will fourty be okay for now?"
"Sure," He waited patiently for the slow moving girl to give him the bills. "Thank you."
Vivio tried to speak with her new friend again. "Oi... Wake up." No sound came to her besides steady breathing. "For the love of..." The handful of minutes that passed while waiting for the cab gave her no luck with the sleeping new friend. "I can't just leave her...."
Struggling to stand, she tried to pull Syn onto her back but ended up collapsing herself. Too weak to move, she allowed the bartender to help her to her feet and assisted in stumbling to the cab, where Vivio gave her address.
After laying down for almost fifteen minutes, she found the strength in herself to not only pay for the cab but to haul the still sleeping girl to the elevator where they leaned against the wall. The floors went by slowly and she weakly dragged the girl while holding up the wall to her door.
Depositing Syn onto the couch consisted of tripping and luckily making it in time. Now free of the burden, the drunk girl stumbled to her bedroom and fell onto the blankets, closing her eyes and going to sleep almost immediately.
When the morning light came, Syn awoke reluctantly and pushed herself up from the couch. "Wha... where am I?"
"My apartment." Vivio said lightly from the kitchen. "You passed out last night and I didn't feel comfortable leaning you on the floor at the bar... here," She bent over and gave the girl a glass of water and some medicine. "don't drink more than you need or you'll get sick."
"Um... Thank you." Syn took the pills and swallowed them. "God this is so embarrassing..."
"Really, I don't mind. I think it's an amusing way to meet someone." Vivio went back to the kitchen and started messing around. "Would you like some breakfast?"
"I... I couldn't-"
"Relax," Vivio was amused at her. "Really, I'd like to cook for you. I haven't had company over in ages."
"...Thank you." Syn sat properly and took another gulp of water before sitting the glass down and looking around the room. A simple apartment with a living room going immediately from the door with a small kitchen across from it. From there a small room held a washer and dryer. A bathroom door was on the wall, followed by another one a short ways off where she assumed the bedroom was. Several pictures littered the walls, showing the girl and her friends. One in a special looking frame caught the Syn's attention and she walked over to it. "Your family?" She asked curiously.
Vivio looked over at the image and nodded even though the girl had her back towards her. "Yes."
Syn looked at the people with interest. A blue haired girl, a red head boy, a pink haired girl, a blond, and two brunettes all smiled around a younger version of Vivio. "I see... you visit often? You all look so happy."
Vivio slowed her cooking lightly before picking back up. "My parents are gone... I haven't seen the others in years."
"...I see, I'm sorry." Syn, for once, felt as if she had opened her mouth and inserted her foot.
"It's okay, I have lots of friends at work."
"Oh? Should you leave soon? Will you be late?"
"I'm not working today." Vivio told her lightly. "I won't be due in for another two weeks or so."
"Interesting, what do you do?"
"I'm... in acting." Vivio smiled. " Do you like your eggs sunny side up or scrambled?"
"Scrambled." Syn walked over to her and watched. "... Can I help?"
"Get the milk out?" Vivio felt a small grin tug at her lips. 'I can't remember the last time I had someone over... I like not being alone.'
After eating their fill the two girls did the dishes together, much to Syn's insistence. Once done and dried, Vivio finally stated the obvious. "I guess we should go pick up our cars from the bar."
"Yeah," Syn agreed lightly while frantically patting her pockets to see if she had her keys.
"No purse?" Vivio asked while getting her own and putting it over her shoulder. "I didn't see you with one so I didn't take one with us..."
"I don't carry one, gets in the way." Syn found her keys and cell phone in the same pocket, pulling them out to show her friend that she was ready.
"Hm," Vivio hummed to herself and went to her door, holding it open for her guest. "Can I get your number? It'd be good to have a new friend."
"Sure," The two swapped phones on the way to the elevator and entered them in as they went down. "This is a rather nice apartment complex compared to mine." Syn looked around after she got her own phone back and pocketed it once more. "I live... well I can't really compare it to here... where are we?"
Vivio laughed to herself as they went outside into the cooling Fall air. "We're on the north side of town, more to the east."
"I see, I shouldn't be too far..." Her eyes looked around and mind mentally tried to calculate their position while still struggling to ignore the hangover. "Ugh, maybe I should put off job hunting until later... but..." She sighed, knowing that she needed a job immediately. "Don't suppose that little acting thing you do needs a spare on the set?"
Vivio had to repress laughter. "No, I don't think you'd really like it. What do you want to do?"
"Honestly?" Syn raised her hand to flag a taxi and this time opened the door for Vivio. "I wouldn't mind a desk job somewhere. Hell even a secretary."
"I... don't know of any place." She paused to tell the driver where to go and the two talked casually about different places. "You could just buy a newspaper and check the help wanted ads."
"Yeah..." Syn looked away and felt her spirits go down a little. "Um... Can I ask a really embarrassing favor?"
"Yes?"
"Can I... Borrow a dollar to buy a newspaper?"
Vivio could feel pity welling up for the girl in front of her, a small connection being reached as she remembered a time where she was in the same situation. "Yeah, sure... I know exactly what that's like, trust me." She got some money from her purse and gave Syn enough money to get some lunch or dinner as well. At first the extra amount was refused but after only one counter, Syn took it
"I promise I'll pay you back." The bar was reached and Vivio paid the fare before getting out and standing by the blue haired girl. "Thank you, Vivio."
"You're welcome. It was nice meeting you, let's keep in touch okay? I don't really go out that much so I'd like it if we could hang around sometime."
"Yeah, let's do that." Syn nodded at her and the two looked at each other once more before waving lightly and splitting up, going to their own cars.
Vivio looked over at her cell phone ringing next to her laptop and grinned at the name that was on the small screen. She hadn't heard from Syn in three days and was about to call the girl herself once she was done with her business. "Hello," She greeted into her cell.
"Hi," Syn's casual greeting came back. "What are you up to?"
"Replying to emails," Vivio mused while lightly skimming a letter from one of her fans detailing what they would do to her if they had a night alone.
"Oh? You get a lot?"
"A handful." The blond looked at the number remaining and repressed a sigh to see that it was still over fifty. "It's part of my job. I have to update my web page and answer fan-mail.
"Oh? What's your URL?" Syn sounded interested.
Vivio glanced at the web page and laughed nervously. "It's rather embarrassing if my friends looked at it..."
"Oh, no problem then." A chuckle made Vivio relax. "Oh, the reason I'm calling: I got a job and have my first paycheck. It's not very much since it's only for half the week, but I'd like to pay you back for everything."
"Oh don't worry about it!" A few clicks deleted some email that she wasn't even going to attempt to reply to. "I did it because I wanted to." She pasted a standard reply to another email from her group of saved responses and clicked the send button. "I'd feel bad if- oh."
"What?"
"One second please." Vivio read the email again, grinning at the contents. 'A request to buy a private video! Nice, that's an extra hundred dollars!' After skimming the email and confirming that she would do it to the person she gave a price and sent it back. "Tell you what, Syn, I just got some extra money, how about we go get some food? My treat."
"But I want to pay you back!"
A giggle. "Come on, let's celebrate your new job. You can tell me all about it tonight. Please? I am going to scream if I have to sit in front of this monitor anymore."
"Well... Okay, but I'm driving. I'll at least pay for the gas."
"That'll work. Shall I go to your place?"
"I'll pick you up... Say an hour?"
Vivio nodded to herself. "Okay, an hour it is then."
"Good, it's a date then." Syn's voice was highly amused.
"Keep your mind out of the gutter, Syn." Vivio replied out of habit.
"Oh... ouch. Denied."
"Ah! I didn't mean that!" Vivio scooted back from her desk and gave the phone her complete attention. "Sorry, I'm just used to being hit on and-"
"No, it's okay, I said it so-" A small silence passed over them.
"Okay, okay! One date." Vivio rolled her eyes. "Its a date."
"Cool! See you then, ja!" The phone clicked off and Vivio flipped her phone closed.
"An hour," She thought aloud while moving back to her desk. "I guess I can finish this up later..." She looked at the emails remaining and groaned. "I should finish it first...." Her eyes started skimming again, clicking each email into categories of "really perverted" "semi perverted" and "personal reply". After mass mailing standard replies to each one, she looked at the five left that needed her own words and set about giving them an honest happy reply that they were her fans. After debating about it, she giggled and adjusted her web cam and pulled up her shirt and bra, clicking a picture while giving a peace sign as an added bonus for making her smile after rooting through all the trash she had to deal with.
"Now, to get ready for my date." Vivio walked to her closet and felt her lips still smiling as she moved to get a modest long sleeved shirt and jeans that weren't quite baggy but still didn't show any of her curves. "I wish I had time to shower... Better put on perfume." She halted her walk to the bathroom and shook her head. "Wow, I'm really considering this a date... how long has it been?"
Once in the bathroom, she hovered her hand over a brush and then quickly snatched it up, fixing her hair so she would have time to put on a little makeup as well.
When Vivio heard the knocking on her door she grabbed her purse and went over to it quickly, stopping just for a moment to check herself one more time. "Hey Syn." She greeted her while locking her door behind herself. "You look nice today."
"Thanks," Syn looked over Vivio while she was eyed herself. The blue haired one had on snug fitting jeans, boots, and a long sleeved shirt that wasn't tight but still made notice of her small chest more than a normal fitting one would. Her hair was up in a high ponytail and swished behind her with every step. "You look nice as well."
"Thank you very much." Vivio was a little amazed at how Syn opened the door for her when they reached the car and sat in it comfortably. She immediately noticed a faint hint of a cleaning solution that was masked almost perfectly by a nice smell that seemed...almost like the Fall season in itself. 'How cute, she must have cleaned up her car for our date.' She rewarded the girl with a grin when she got in. "I like your car."
"It's old, but it gets me around." Syn gave a lopsided smirk at the compliment, feeling a little embarrassed from it. "Where do you want to eat?"
"Doesn't matter."
"Me either..." The two looked at each other before Vivio played the 'get away without answering' card.
"I'm paying, so you pick."
"Well then...What kind of food do you like to eat?"
"Anything." Vivio found this new game to be quite amusing, and avoided the question neatly three times before her friend gave up and picked a place that she wanted to eat at. "So, tell me about your new job? They paid you the first week without a hold back?"
"Yes, it was really helpful."
"So where is it?"
"I'm a clerk at the clothing store in the strip mall down town. I do the cash register and stuff."
"Sounds fun, get to meet a lot of people."
"I'm not really a people person. I tend to...I guess you could say that I have a wise-cracking attitude. It makes some people not like me."
"Oh?" Vivio started playing with the radio. "You seem really kind to me."
"I like people who hold good conversation." The way Syn said it made the other girl realize the obvious flirt. "You seem really smart."
"I graduated high school, no college."
"Same. I was going to go into the military."
"Why didn't you?"
"Mom wouldn't let me." Syn reflected back on it. "I was going to sign up but mom said that I wouldn't be able to handle it and refused to let me join. I got really mad and one thing lead to another. Before long I realized that I moved off on my own to prove that I can handle life."
"I'm sorry..."
"Nah, we made up after a few months. She invited me to come live with her again but I really did want to make it on my own... kind of a personal goal. So here I am, struggling along with the rest of the world. How about you?"
Vivio blushed, realizing now that Syn was trying to hint at wanting to know more about her and what she did with her life. "My parents died when I was younger,as you know, and when I turned eighteen I lost my benefits and support so I was on my own. My parent's friends all wanted to help me but because of what happened with my parents, I couldn't be around them... call it a phobia... So I moved off and after a while I just... stopped talking to them." She looked out the car window, voice getting a little softer. "I decided that I'm better leaving the past behind me and moving on." Looking back, she smiled. "I'm making it on my own. Sometimes I have enough money to splurge, sometimes it's a little tight, so I try and balance it out."
"I see," Syn nodded at her. "That's really respectable."
"Thank you, you too."
"Thanks." Syn's lips twitched upwards slightly. "We've said that a lot tonight."
"So we have," Vivio agreed.
By the time they made it to the restaurant and got a table, the blue haired one felt her stomach growl at her. The place was crowded, the many tables being full of chattering people and waiters zig-zagging through the black and white tiled floor. "Ever eaten here?" Syn noticed the girl looking around.
"Actually, no. I didn't even know this was a restaurant." Vivio picked up the menu off the table and glanced over it. "Little no name brand places like this normally have the best food."
"Yeah," Syn agreed while looking at the girl. Already knowing what she wanted, she took the time to simply take in the girl. The way her hair curled around her ears, the side-up ponytail, and the crystal clear eyes seemed to sparkle in the light.
"...What?"
"Hm?"
"You're staring at me."
"Because you're pretty." Syn grinned at the sudden blush. "Not used to being complimented?"
"Ah, well... Not by..."
"Girls?"
"No, I mean, just not so... randomly. I just realized that most times it's just... hollow. When you said it, it was just... I dunno, nice. Topic change, how old are you?"
Syn laughed happily but still allowed the focus to shift. "Twenty three."
"A year older than me." A waiter came to them next, moving their focus away from each other in favor of ordering.
~**~
"Thanks again for dinner." Syn spoke to her friend while standing at Vivio's doorstep once more. "Next time I promise I'll pay."
"Next time?" Vivio asked with an amused tone. "Confident I'll go out with you again?"
"Yes, I'm awesome." The girl put a hand on her hip and posed lightly. "Really, though, I had fun."
"Me too." The blond's smile got bigger when Syn stepped forward a bit.
"Kiss on the first date?"
"Yes." Vivio waited until Syn got close enough and placed a finger onto her lips. "But only on the nose." With that, she pecked the tip of her friend's nose and opened her now unlocked door. "Goodnight, Syn." She sang to the confused girl.
"Mou, Goodnight, Vivio." A small wave was given and after the door was closed a small sigh came out. "So close too..."
"I heard that!" Vivio called from inside, making her friend blush furiously.
Syn made it back to her car and drove home with a content smile on her face. Reaching to her cell phone, she hit a speed dial and waited three rings before a familiar voice picked up. "Hey mom!... No,ha ha. I was just calling to tell you something... Yeah... I met a really nice girl."
"This is pretty fun," Vivio voice her thoughts aloud as she walked down the sidewalk of the strip mall. One hand was in her pocket while the other was clasping Syn's casually. "I don't come here often."
"Aw come on," Syn insisted, getting a laugh from her boss who had to exscuse herself to greet another customer.
"Anything?"
"Anything." She gave a wink. "for embarrassing you in front of your boss."
"Hm, well in that case..." Syn moved around the familiar store and made a bee-line to the section that she was looking for. When Vivio caught up, the girl had already picked out the clothing set to be tried on. "Here, put this on."
"You like this kind of stuff afterall."
Syn thought about the question for a moment. "There is a really good ice cream place near here?
It is so much different than when acting...' Syn cocked her head to the side with a silent question as to why it suddenly went quiet.
Syn picked up the spoon in the treat and scooped some up. "Dibs on first bite." She put it in her mouth and licked it clean before handing it to Vivio. "Yum."
Vivio shook her head in amusement before taking a bite herself.
"Do I?"
"Yes. Yes you do." Syn reached forward and plucked the utensil from the girl's mouth and dived back into the cold treat.
"I kissed her... he he, she is a horrible kisser."
"Maybe I can get lucky and pose for a magazine..." After entering in her user name and password at her company's website she checked her notices and almost pumped her fist up in excitement at the opening.
"I'm so going to post that on my web page, get you some hate mail.
"Thanks," Saharet waved at them and left.
Vivio started gathering their trash and looked around for a waste bin to toss it in, being spared the trouble when Syn took it to toss across the room into the trashcan.
I don't know why it's bothering me so much. I originally wanted to keep her at fifteen since it's easier on me canon-wise and serves, in a way, as an alternate ending to the events of A's. I guess I've been reading too many fanfics.
Still, I wanna see what other people say before I decide for sure...
I'm wondering how canon affects this story? By which I mean, Nanoha's had a very different life between the end of A's and the start of your story than canon Nanoha did. By definition that's going to affect the course of her life, what she's done in her career, the kind of bonds she formed with her friends, the kind of growing-up she did. It may very well affect the course of other people's lives as well (Fate's especially--given how emotionally dependent she was on Nanoha at that age, having Nanoha not be the always-strong Ace and having to cope with serious life-changing problems of her own is going to inevitably affect what Fate did, though probably tightening her family bonds with Lindy, Chrono, etc.).
So unless you're going to bring in elements of the StrikerS plot which occur at a certain time based on the actions of third parties unconcerned with Nanoha (i.e. Jail's not likely to change his schedule just because one girl lost her ability to cast magic) and you feel really uncomfortable with changing that, then anything that happened in-series after you insert your major changes is irrelevant.
Therefore, what you should do is consider what your plotline requires. Is there a scene where Nanoha or one of the main cast needs to be driving a car? Better make them sixteen or older. Is it important that they NOT be worried about college entrance exams (or TSAB career-path examinations?)? Make them younger. My preference as a reader is that the story be as consistent and internally logical as possible, so if you're asking for reader votes, I'd have to go with "whatever best suits your story and your personal tastes." Sounds corny, I know, but there it is.
Unless, of course, I'm commenting about the wrong fic entirely.
That you did what!? Both Hayate and her companion asked surprised. It was not surprising that Nanoha escaped once in a while from her home, which was actually an orphanage, to watch the stars. It was one of few things that the girl liked. Why did you do that? Did Vita hit you? Subaru was molesting you again? Did Chrono-
Nothing like that, Nanoha interrupted her questioning. I was tired of it. Besides I was going to be kicked out in, the girl stopped and started to count with her fingers, two years. So I decided to leave now. But I didnt know where to go, so I decided to come here and ask if you could give me a roof where to sleep for today Can I do that? Nanoha said the last part while he looked with sad puppy eyes.
As Hayate opened her mouth to say something, to scold the girl most likely, her companion quickly said. Well be glad Nanoha.
Thank you Alicia! the girl shouted with excitement as she hugged the blonde. Knowing that Hayate was mad at her harsh decision, she decided to hug the girl back. It was going to be a long night and she might enjoy the last piece of calm.

In the forest, far away from the house of the cute witch Hayate, lived a woman. This woman, who had the same features as Hayates companion Alicia, was a witch too. But contrary to the other witch, who used her magic to entertain the kids in the village or help the villagers with their abnormal and frequent problems with spirits, she used her magic for purposes which many could consider dark.
we add a little bit of catīs eyes, to see the unseen, and done. Now we just let it rest until the moon is red and done, the woman stopped reading. The book she had, titled The yes and nots on magic was opened right in the page where a recipe showed how to see the dead. But this thing takes a month, three weeks at least. The woman slammed the book hard. Mou, why magic has to be so hard? The woman sighed as she leaned in the tree behind her.
As she opened the book again to read another recipe, this time to breathe underwater, an orange wolf walked to her. Instead of being scared, as any normal person would be, she just looked from her book and smiled. Arf you are back! the woman petted the wolf as the wolf licked her head. How was your hunt? Caught something tasty? The wolf just wagged its tail happy at the motion.
The woman stopped the petting as she saw something. Whatīs this? she pulled out a long brown hair from the wolfīs mouth. You ate a girl? As the wolf shook its head, the woman examined the large hair. This is the woman quickly stood up and entered her house. Instead of being a normal house in the forest, as Hayates one was, hers was a tree. Or rather her house was shaped like a tree.
She quickly searched in her library a book. As she pulled the book she was searching a little noise on her door was heard. She quickly opened the door and the wolf entered quickly. Sorry Arf I guess I got a little carried away, The wolf just nodded and entered to the library with the woman. She quickly opened the book and scanned through the pages. Just as she was getting frustrated, she found what she was searching for. I see, so the owner of this little hair is a dream seeker. I need to meet this girl. Arf, the wolf, who had laid down on the floor, moved its head to the woman. Do you know where she went?
The wolf nodded and pointed to a portrait. The persons in the portrait were none other than Alicia and Hayate. I guess I need to pay a visit to my sister. But first, can you call Tiana, Arf?the wolf nodded and left the library.

Wish I knew just how much stronger that turret was, but when in doubt, snuff as much enemy firepower as fast as possible...plus with the Lynxes down, it's possible to use moBility against it.
I pretty much agree with Dezo here. (Especially the part about Fate. XD *hints*)
Although, I must say I'd like 15 after A's more, because of the bigger impacts made on Fate and Yuuno and the rest of the cast.
^Which is pretty much the whole reason I like the idea other than Nanoha using guns LOL.
I like Charlotte she's so cute/funny when she forgets to be formal or when she scolds Ashcroft. That whole conversation about the random gunner was interesting. Important? Maybe. I like how he's called old fruit. So I wonder who this apprentice is? The first person who comes to mind is Hayate, but who knows? OMG ITS NOT A FOOTNOTE!
Eck-hem, yes, marke, it isn't a footnote, thanks
Charlotte and Ashcroft have a dysfunctional relationship, much like his relationships with everyone else in general. 4% he doesn't like them, 95% mutual dislike, and 1% mutual acceptance or further. And as to the gunner, if he/she/whatever was mentioned, it's either important, or related. I try not to dilate too much on things that aren't of any future importance
I think I know why Hayate came to mind first...but let's wait a bit, eh?

A.) Get Syn something spicy
B.) Get Syn some fast food
C.) get Syn something nice from a restaurant, to-go.
D.) Get Syn some snacks, something sweet.
A was my choice, but heck that really. Damn the difference between time zones
My vote always goes to the more spicy choice. Spicy is good...makes the taste of lemon better...

Damn...you left us hanging on the VivSyn issue...damn it.
Nevermind, taco breath scene was especially hilarious...can't believe that they'd say it that way. Looking forward to more Sata VxS lemon.
And after my last little outing, here's another segment, a little more active than the last one.
Here goes nothing again!
@wanwan1203: And yes, this is the continuation. @markesellus: And no, it isn't Hayate, but she'll have her turn...
The ZENITH Project
Spoiler for Second Segment:
A green sigil insinuated itself into the ground, as a green mist floating around, hugging the ground as it spiraled around its caster.
“Miasma Lance!”
Cecile Arkham, Lt, 2nd Class, hefted the extra weapon as needles attached themselves to the fast-sprouting conglomerate of a spear, preparing to launch it at her opponent.
Or more accurately, her personal tactical combat instructor and respected senior, Ashcroft Ravenholm, who seemed to be enjoying his old job of being her sparring opponent.
And a most frustrating role play it had turned out to be. Despite being 2 ranks above him, and told she was “pretty damn young for an Lt”, she had completely failed to get so much as a graze on him; on the contrary, she had already been given much more than she was giving.
Her instructor, looking pretty youthful himself at a strapping 23 years of age, was pretty much all over his advantage, grinning like a Cheshire cat and standing in a rather casual position, teasing her in a friendly sort of way. Not that he could be underestimated, though, Cecile had learned over their time together that under that veneer of mild and lazy mannerisms lay a monster in the realm of tactical intelligence: content simply to hold her off, waiting for his moment to strike a fatal blow.
On one hand, she was ruing the fact that she had literally begged for this chance to take him on again, and that she had dared, foolishly, to entertain the mere fantasy that he would go slightly easier on her after her departure to another unit in the SI. Not to mention that she had somehow failed to notice his barely disguised glee at another opportunity to wipe the floor with her in the training centre. Again.
‘But on the other this is a good chance to prove the Investigator known as the “Wraith Serpent” wrong for once. He only needs one hit to win, as always…but I’m not going to let sempai have that chance. Not this time.’
“Hyaaah!” She threw the lance, and immediately ignited a Flash Move, blazing after her lance and gathering three basic magic projectiles around her free wrist. “We’ll see how you take this!”
“Just like anything else in life, of course.” Ashcroft smirked. “Just roll with the punches.”
Surprisingly, he did not flinch in the face of the heavily lethal spear. Instead, he raised his left hand, and simply caught the weapon in mid air as it sloughed armor off his gloves like dead skin. He let his left leg slide almost ninety degrees to negate its impact, before flicking himself over her head in a well timed jump, just when she had swung her Armed Device, Lesale at him, effectively dodging both spears simultaneously.

Priority, Low.] She spun around, bringing Lesale along with her in a backhand swing, arming it with a watered-down Haemos Viper mid-swing, but ended up waving her blade in empty air as Ashcroft hunkered down, before swinging a single magically enforced combat boot at her torso, forcing her to perform an awkward block with her free left hand to stop herself from being pulverized by the impact of his strike and her momentum combined.
Rising to his feet once more, Ashcroft stood at ease a double-layered sigil inscribed itself into the ground, signaling his acknowledgement of the second round of their bout, which his student had initiated with her assault.
His limbs moved in unison, as one body, sliding slowly into a combat pose, all four limbs glowing eerily with purplish-grey tendrils of energy: the defining trait of his personal non-incanted spell, the Gauntlet Dream. The sigil dissipated into mere wisps as the glow waxed, and then steadied.
“I would advise you to get serious already, because at this rate, I’ll have you pinned on the ground in another 5 minutes, my little Cecile.”
‘“this’ll only take me 5 minutes” he says…damn it, he’s always so confident!’
“You haven’t changed at all, sempai…”
Ashcroft didn’t move at all, or even react to the usage of the term which would usually have his hair standing on end in annoyance. “Unlike you, naturally. I see you have, and for the worse. I see the mean tactical skill of the TSAB has been dropping in general.”
Almost imperceptibly, Ashcroft’s lips began to move in the words of a tongue unknown to Cecile.
“αρχαίο σιδηρουργείο της ιερής φλόγας, Σας, καλώ!…”
‘He’s incanting something?...That’s not common for him at all. Still-’ She snapped her own train of thought in favor of action, as Ashcroft began the next round with a side-ward strafe in mid-air.
“I’m not gonna let you do that!!!” Dashing towards him from the left, she released a pair of Miasma Needles to the right, sending the two homing darts flitting towards Ashcroft, who seemed content just to continue chanting will dodging her shots.
“γίνετε το σφυρί μου και το αμόνι μου…” raising a hand in the air as the words seemed to flow from his mouth like flowing water, Ashcroft punched both needles aside with blinding speed, pulverizing them into sparkling shards before turning around to face Cecile as she came crashing into view.
“Enshroud!” [Asphyxiate!] A sick green smog of poison blasted outwards around her. Cecile gritted her teeth, and braked on the spot, before kicking out at him with a catridge purge, sending the deadly cloud rolling towards him.
Ashcroft’s eyes widened, his first surprised look of the whole fight so far. “What’s this-”
‘If you can’t see me, you don’t know where to cast your illusions even if you can use them…’ Another pair of cartridges clanked onto the ground, spitting forth hissing exhaust as she launched a wave of Needles, bursting forth from their shooting circle like raven feathers, arcing towards him from above, just as he burst the cloud with his own purge, very much unharmed, save for a green tint to his normally hoar-frost-white blazer.
Ruffled, but not shaken yet, his voice persisted in brazen, self-assured defiance of her efforts. “Ο εσείς ουρανοί και η γη…”
Drawing two crystal blades from his twin device, he dropped to the ground, and flicked himself into mid air with a left-slant, slashing 3 needles, and kicking 2 aside, before dodging the last one with a shimmy, racing with his student for the initiative of the next engagement.
Sweat beaded down Cecile’s face as she considered the situation briefly. ‘I still haven’t prevented him from incanting, I’m simply slowing him down. For now I’m still detecting his illusions okay with Abyssal Mist with a few exceptions, but if he gets close enough to use his Nightmares rather than just Chaos or Order, then I’m in for it.’
The Investigator’s eyes narrowed, energy crackling around the blades and down his forearm, and with a swift swash from both arms, he hurled the 3 foot swords like pikes at her. [Ghost Runner.]
Cecile braced herself for the combined attack. This was often the point of time when Ashcroft would get rough, and usually knock her down in a short time. But that was in the past. “Not this time.”
Spinning Lesale in front of her person like a barrier, she parried both blades, even as she noticed a pair of Ashcrofts emerging from behind the original one, and ran at her as he arrived earlier, swinging his fist at her right fist, which was pivotal in her usage of her device.
Shifting her footing, she pierced the onrushing foe with her spear, as a magic knife materialized in his hand, and drove home into her arm even as he dissipated into nothingness. Pain lanced through her arm as crimson blood spurted from the raw, livid wound, and she jerked back on reflex, even as the rest of the foes closed in on her. Nothing was certain anymore at these close-to point blank ranges, where Ashcroft’s Nightmares could be used.
‘No, wait…that is an illusion…I’ve – not – given – up – YET!!!!’ She screamed at herself in the recesses of her mind, quelling the spark of panic in her guts, and recalling her years of training, she coolly sidestepped the second illusion and cutting him to pieces with a flick of her wrists, as needles tore through the once-corporeal phantasm. Spinning around, she formed another greenish-sigil about herself, and sprang forward, closing the distance between them in a fraction of a second, bringing her immolated spear to bear on the last Ashcroft.
[Corruption Wave.]
Ashcroft did not blanch, and instead went down on one bent knee, blocking the full blooded blow with a two-handed catch. Cecile groaned. This is gonna suck…
Shifting all of the Gauntlet Dream into his 4 limbs, he caught the pole-arm in a death grip and threw Cecile into the ground, before escaping the dust cloud of his own making, uttering the final stanza to the ominous sounding canticle. “Στα χέρια μου θα είστε ως Θεός, Λόρδος των θαυμάτων, της πυρκαγιάς και του ξίφους!”
So he finished it. Nothing she could do about it now.
[Pandemic Wave, Stack on previous.] Her whole body blazing with cankered purple and green flames, she fired 2 lines of venomous flames after her opponent, spitting the ground with ravaging, poisonous burns as it came.
Ashcroft was duly impressed by her reactions, and it showed.
“Very good, indeed. I take back my words; perhaps time away from me has raised the bar a little more than I thought-” Ashcroft ground to a halt, and seemed to become one with the back wall of the sparring room, as his Twilight Cowl rendered her spear and its pathogenic wave of toxins useless against him.
Coming out of that almost hazardously magic-hungry ethereal form as he continued his movement, he dodged a torso-level backhanded sweep with a sliding tackle, before catching the spear with his right hand, stopping it short. “-But, I can still match 2 spells of mine against 3 of yours, so you’ve got a ways to go in terms of tactical skill, and utility in using your deck of cards. After all, we aren’t playing no-trump down here...”
Cecile growled at the sardonic undertones of his comment about her infamously reckless, and in his not-very honest view tactless style, and forced both her hands into action, wresting her spear from her opponent’s grasp, before bringing it to torso level, parrying an otherwise deadly kick from him. Falling back several meters, she noted with some displeasure that they were back to square one again.
‘I’m definitely going to get more earfuls from him about reading the battle again at this rate. He probably isn’t at his limit of thought yet…’
It wasn’t altogether wrong. Despite what she had previously (and now evidently erroneously) thought to be a major improvement in her knowledge of battle tactics, Ashcroft still seemed to be reading her every move like a book, while he was a sealed book with the keys locked up inside the book: completely unreadable and unpredictable.
Now as they squared off again, she took a closer look at her former teacher. He didn’t seem to be in any hurry to start another round of the brawl, despite the fact that the sands of time were rapidly sinking around his self-given 5 minute deadline for victory. Instead, he simply seemed to be content with recharging and regulating the flow of the Gauntlet Dream, the glassy verdant glow of its energy waves playing havoc with her view of his limbs.
“Hallo, what have we here, sleeping beauty? Short attention span acting up again, I see.” Ashcroft’s voice rang out clearly behind her, sending her whole body on alert as she spun around to face the oncoming-
-nothing?
‘There’s no one…Wait-?!’ A familiar feeling of dread crept up her spine. Too little, too late though, as a thin gauntlet shot out in a nerve-strike, crippling her left forearm. She closed her eyes, and did a back flip from a standing position, feeling her pole-axe meet resistance for a moment, and then swing free with an ominous cracking sound. Opening her eyes once more, she was just in time to see Ashcroft standing just a stone’s throw away from her, supporting his smoking right gauntlet with his left, which was brutally nicked with a jagged scar, evidence of her wild, but nevertheless accurate strike.
“Well done, you minimized the damage well. Ready for another go at experimenting with your reflex speeds?”
She ignored that one.
[Black Immolation.] Lesale was suddenly wrapped in a veil of spinning black flames, the fiery tendrils licking upwards all the way to cover her entire right shoulder like burning chains, a brimstone shield. 4 cartridges, discharged in wildly rapid succession, hit the dirt. “Wanna-” She rose up into the air in mid-flight, preparing a direct assault, “-Bet on it?”
“Definitely. I suppose this will be the last round of attacks? Just as well.” He pointed to the crystal on the left of him. “Engima-”
Right in front of her eyes, his figure wavered, like a mirage, and disappeared completely into nothingness. Cecile’s eyes narrowed as she attempted to decipher the implications of the sudden maneuver. ‘Complete disappearance of body as well as magical signature…This really kicks surety to the curb. Ash has improved his own abilities a lot too.’
The floor below her suddenly gave way as Ashcroft burst out amid the shattered debris, revealing a tunnel he had dug underground. In his balled fist he held a bauble of stabilized energy, its dancing swords of light juxtaposed against the folds of what counted as his battle armor, and spinning his torso to the right, prepared for a strike at the airborne mage.
‘Impossible, I heard nothing and saw nothing. Still, no chances taken.’ She leveled Lesale in his path, preparing to shoot him at point blank. The needle round fired, sending 5 pikes of energy straight at the onrushing figure.
But for a reason beyond comprehension, Ashcroft still streamed in towards her, towards the three energy spears that would spell instant defeat for him, and-
-he dodged them with a flick of his head, the 3 shots screaming behind him.
‘No matter! This is my win!’
“Envelop!” lifting the spear in the air, she launched the spear, its deadly point aiming straight for his heart, and mentally commanded the shots back in a phalanx-esque formation to draw a bead on him; a magical pincer maneuver. There was nowhere to run now, and no ordinary barrier could block that.
She shielded her eyes against the huge explosion and the consequent blaze that consumed the area, retreating from the sheer heat of the conflagration, before dropping onto one knee, panting heavily as sweat glistened all over her, recovering gradually from the debilitating effects of the spell’s magical and physical drain.
[Phantom Ripper.]
A burst of energy blasted the flames away, revealing to a mortified Cecile the silhouette of Ashcroft, still standing, and relatively unharmed save for some burns on his coat, where the enhanced fabric had been seared away in charred shreds. He held up a smoking right glove, source of the latest spell, and also a Belkan Shield, held up against the 2 crystals that made up his device.
Within them, its edge half entrapped within those cracked but unbroken surfaces which it had pierced in its cankered fury, was Lesale. Forgetting the situation, Cecile found her mouth almost agape with shock. “You used your Devices as shields?”
Ashcroft nodded matter-of-factly.
“Indeed. It’s called victory by partial loss. I tank the hit, and by extension deprive you of your ability to use magic, and-” He snapped his fingers, and crystal blades burst forth from the still pristine facets of his twin Device, criss-crossing themselves around Lesale, rendering it unmovable. “-most critically, your main weapon.”
“GEH!!!” She got up and attempted to retrieve her weapon, but it was futile: She had used up too much energy. She crashed to the ground.
Ashcroft looked torn between a lecture and a laugh, but in the end he did neither: he sighed and shook his head. “Ah, well, hotheads will be hotheads. Still, I will have you know that I have won this round.”
“Enigma, Colossus, Delay Spell, activate.”
[Euoe.]
“And…THIS, by the way, is what the incantation earlier was for.”
‘What on earth is that-’
The earth turned into a yawning maw under her as oily black ripples seemed to metamorphose what was once the surface she was standing on into a deadly whirlpool sigils of the arcane woven into its tapestry of death, binding her with tendrils of viscous liquid, caressing her within its dark bosom.
Ashcroft’s trump card: Acheron, Chains of the Nightmare.
Victorious through strategy once again, he landed lightly in front of Cecile, and gave her his hand, amid the now dissipating, retreating extensions of his spell, a sea of binds parting before their master. Weakly, grudgingly, she took his hand, the defeated taking the magnanimous hand offered; or more accurately now, a teacher picking his student up from the ground after a lesson learnt.
“This match ends here. I’m not changing our current head-to-head combat result status, on the basis of our pre-agreed mercy rule.” Cecile rolled her eyes sardonically, already anticipating his next line. “I reckon seven to nada in my favor is already quite enough…”
“…Although…”
“Although what?” A sudden flash of thought disturbed her. ‘Don’t tell me its…’
A cheeky smile crossed his lips as he savored the other thing that as the victor of the match
“…The debrief starts now.”
‘Oh damn, I knew it-’ Cecile groaned in despair. “Not those again, you go on for ages and ages EVERY OTHER TIME…Can’t I have a break this time?!”
But Ashcroft would have none of it, and simply floated a finger in front of her face rather imperiously, with the air of a strict schoolmaster, or an angered disciplinarian. “Now, I have 3 good reasons why you should just sit down and listen up good to whatever I have to say. Firstly, you lost, so it’s my right to give you a lecture, even not considering that I was your teacher and in many ways still remain as such, since our relationship was never officially dissolved by mutual agreement or otherwise. Secondly, although I will have to concede that you have improved tremendously over our time apart, this improvement, like all improvements brings with it its own new strengths, possibilities and also errors, and all the more I should be helping you to analyze them, since your test is next week.”
He took in a deep breath after the torrent of words, and brought forth his last, and most forcefully forwarded point. “Thirdly, and lastly, I purposely limited myself to a 5 minute battle so that I would have time to do this, eat lunch and then rush off for my next appointment, which although may not happen at all, could possibly take up the rest of my damn day, not counting the time taken to complete the task itself, so this is a concession from me. You should be appreciative.”
“Any more questions?”
Cecile threw up her hands. If there was ever a time to capitulate, it was now.
It's a bit shorter than the last one, since I can't hold action very long...Comments on how to improve would be most appreciated
And as I said before, Character Guides will come out later...
