His navel laser was useful during the training camp too where it stopped the villains from taking Tokoyami too.

I got the impression that her parents urged her to choose her own path in life rather than just go into the family business, so Uraraka is aiming to be a crime fighting hero, and give her parents most of the money she makes so they can 'have comfortable lives'.

She produced some pretty big, heavy duty shields early on when the test began. That could have played into her decision making.

Well, this is possibly the worst possible test for Bakugo. Maybe Kirishima and Denki can keep him from yelling at too many people? ...yeah, probably not.

So now they've got to rescue people. At least the "victims" are telling them what they're doing wrong. And aw, Uraraka is so cute when she's in love. Even if everyone has more important things to focus on at the moment.

But there's a "special" episode next week? Dang, I wonder why the interruption in the middle of this arc? Well, guess its better than a clip show, but still.

If not for the fact battling villains is also part of the test, Bakugou would have stood no chance of passing.

But yeah, what's up with them airing a special filler episode next week right in the middle of the arc? It makes no sense to me.

According to folks on reddit, there's a special nation-wide Japanese charity event going on next week.

Quote:
Next week is the nation-wide Japanese charity event "24h TV - Love Saves The Earth", in which every TV station changes their program and sends stuff related to the charity event instead. Most normal programs don't run (i.e. Detective Conan anime, which has the timeslot right after MHA), but MHA instead decided to air a special episode that ties-in with the charity event and the movie.

Oh, that's really nice then. It makes sense that a series about superheroes would participate to such an event.

Thanks for the info.

In fact most shows apparently don’t air st all, and BnHA specially decided to make an episode to support the event. So way cool all around - not that it will stop fans from screaming about the betrayal of airing original content.

Considering how open they were about it being anime-original anyways, kind of wish they just put the context into the preview. Of course people are going to think "oh god are we doing Bleach style filler" without anything else to go on.

Anyways nice enough that they are doing it. Although it is still too bad we're essentially taking a week off from the current arc. But that was going to happen regardless due to the timing. It was just between no episode and this anime-original one. And something (so long as it's good) is better than nothing. And they can more or less make it fit anyways.

Ah, so that's the reason, thanks for the answer. I was afraid they had to throw in an extra episode to make for a full season or it was just a movie tie-in or something. Its too bad about the timing (in between last week's episode and this one would be a bit preferable) but nice to see them supporting charity.

It actually sounded to me like the rules are so strict you need a license to use your quirk even for work, and she needed to get the license to even be able to use her quirk in the family business.

That was not the impression given when she talked about it. She wanted to work for their company, but they insisted that she not, and instead do her own thing. So she's planning to work as a hero and send the money from that to her parents instead.

Demanding everyone pass a hero exam in order to use their powers for totally civilian employment would be stupid.

Reading these last few posts, I suppose this episode isn't as pointless as I thought. It's still pointless to me personally, but at least there is a reason for it.

By the way, I don't really believe you need a hero license just to work.

If that were true, literally every child in the world would have to enroll in the hero school and follow hero training just to do mundane work that their quirk just happens to be useful for.

If we apply occam's razor here, we can assume that there are other types of licenses.

The episode was pretty fun. I was afraid it might be a bit cheesy with a theme like "loves saves the Earth", but they went for comedy and the result was nice. The conclusion was really funny.

Midnight is a damn good actress by the way.

Surprisingly funny filler episode. Deku missed a crucial part of the investgiation but the episode played it out humorously that I got a laugh from it.

Back to the main story next week.

It's not that he missed it, but more like he couldn't have known this was supposed to be a clue. I made the same assumption as him.

That was a fun episode. The ending to that exercise caught me off guard, but it was hilarious. I got to agree with Bakugou, that does feel like they were playing dirty

Yeah. They might as well as chastised them for not spotting the accomplice with a "turn people into cardboard cutouts" quirk.

The funny thing is that ended up being nothing to do with the charity event at all, and basically an extended commercial for the movie.
