I finally got down on watching the subbed MMR and it was even better than I expected... oh Mikoto, you're such a silly little girl... (maybe those wind turbine are what she thinks they really are... )
The last part where Mikoto is furious yet her facial expression didn't change is what made it funny. *flees* |

Yomikawa-sensei always ends her sentences with -jan. And all that dialogue is a pun on her speaking style. :P
My brain stopped responding when I heard "U~i~ha~rrrrrrrrrrrrurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" "Chan to pantsu wa haiterrrrr ka?" "Sa-Saten-san! H-Haitemasu yo! >.<" "Haiterrrrr ka?" "H-Haitemasu yo! >.<" "Haiterrrrr ka?" "H-Haitemasu yo! >.<" "Haiterrrrr ka?" "H-Haitemasu yo...?"

Been seeing a few summaries for episodes up to 22 in japanese on different sites across the net. I took the liberty of translating them below. Should point out that I haven't seen any "picture proof" that these came from an official source, so I can't tell wether they're for real or not, so bear that in mind.
#20 Poltergeist: An out of season transfer student comes to Sakugawa Middle School. Her name is Haruue Erii. She's transfering in from the 19th school ward and becomes Uiharu's room mate. Saten and the others comes to help with the moving in, and once finished, Mikoto then proposes that everyone go out for some fun to deepen the friendship with Haruue, but Uiharu and Kuroko have to attend a joint session meeting between judgement and anti skill. The meeting is about the recently increasing number of earthquakes, according to a specialist the cause is a so called poltergeist phenomena caused by ESP abilities running out of control. Afterwards Uiharu and the others take Haruue with them to a fireworks event. #21 Voice: Uiharu and the others who got involved in a poltergeist phenomena during the fireworks event are saved from a dangerous situation by someone in a MAR Power suit. The one in the Power suit was the specialist who appeared at the joint session meeting, Telestina. Haruue feels down because she's caused trouble for everyone but Uiharu cheers her up. The two go to the nature park in the 21st school ward for some recreation. Elsewhere, Mikoto and the others who find out that the poltergeist phenomena is the result of human interferance with AIM fields, suspect Harumi, but it as she is being detained its impossible for her to be responsible. Mikoto holds suspicion towards Harukami who behaved strangely at the fireworks event. #22 Level 6; mortals who grasp at the intents of heaven: Haruue who was raised at a child care institute as a child error. When she was young, Haruue had special characteristic of holding a strong telepathic connection to a single girl, Edasaki, whom she was very close to. Recently she has been hearing Edasaki's voice, who hade been moved to another institute. Hearing this, Mikoto tells Telestina of the Level upper incident. With the hypothesis that the children who were used as test subjects in the berserk ESP ability experiments are the cause of the poltergeist phenomena, they begin to look for a way to proceed. Just then Telestina informs them that Harumi has been bailed out of her detention. EDIT: So the new girl's was actually Haruue. Chi. Last edited by Yufankun; 2010-02-20 at 15:06. Reason: fix'd |

Loved the MMR's overt jokes, now I'm trying to get a hold of the more subtle ones if anyone with the know and humor could clue me in past all the guesses on YouTube and other sites?
Is the "cow moo" thing in the park an anime tease on how "cattle packed" parks in Japan really are? Dorm mistress's "death song" for Kuroko -- from another vintage series? An IRQ mention of a "[MAD]" YouTube video claims that an early withdrawn version of the MMR briefly had, immediately following the scene of Kuroko having her head torqued off, Kuroko sitting in the restaurant like now but if you looked closely her uniform was on backward (like her head had been totally twisted 180.) What's the thing about the sparkling pendant (it was originally a frog, right?) and Misaka having cat-eyes? Is the cat-box thing really some inside Japan reference, like for a commercial or another show? Is the "grey" and "Martian Exodus" and "only the chosen will be saved" mention really a "2012" reference? Thanks for whoever takes the time to fill this picture out for me! |

The sparkling pendant is a reference to the anime series "Shakugan no Shana".
The white cat is actually a miscolored version of the "Palmtop Tiger" from Toradora!. Both series share the same producer as Toaru: JC Staff. The cat-in-a-box is Schrodinger's Cat Theory.

Hello guys, I just watched the MMR, I need to ask some questions:-
1. That Dorm Supervisor (Whoever it was, I don't know her name), did she just 'Breakneck' Kuroko? To me that 'break-neck' can be deadly sometimes! Isn't it? 2. I was LOLed during Misaka made PSA part at the end. I mean first was, American Slang, second normal, third Aggresive & Fourth that sounds like she's crying! |

I think at this point people should just give up the notion that the Sisters arc will be animated. It's as hopeless as hoping for Clark Kent to end up falling in love with Brainiac and eloping to the ends of the universe. I for one, am looking forward to these new materials, especially on how Telestina(or however you spell Ohara Sayaka's character's name)'s involvement in observing the AIM Burst incident and how it could possibly lead to the Imaginary Numbers Distrinct experiment.

I'm still amazed that people didn't give up a long time ago, especially with the arrival of the second OP. I suppose you can either look at it as the arc was already animated in Index (albeit from a different perspective), or they're saving something for a sequel. Either way, in case it wasn't already obvious, it's absolutely sure that we won't get that arc in this season.
