i think some of hokage summon kyubi but he couldn't control him that why they seal him in naruto

Yeah, I know what you mean. She better not summon it in Rain Country, if there are salt particles in the air, she's f***ed.

Kyubi is different from the summoned animals. Kyubi is a demon, first and foremost, the other animals aren't.

Because that's how the legend goes. But, Kishimoto made on big mistake, IMO, about the legend.

Spoiler for episodes 95-96 and manga chapters 168-something:

The slug is more powerful than the snake, snake is more powerful than the frog, and the frog is more powerful than the slug. In the legend that is. But in Naruto Manda defeated Katsuyu and that is just wrong. But, as the legend goes, Tsunade, the slug magic user, is married to Jiraiya, the frog magic user, and Orochimaru is the snake magic user, (BTW, I'm not sure what's Orochimaru's part in the story, but I guess he is some sort of evil guy), Tsunade did defeat Orochimaru (major beating in the anime ;D), AND Manda by swinging Gamabuntas sword into Manda's mouth. So basicly Slug magic won over the Snake magic.
But still, Katsuyu is quite useless. And that is a pity.

I don't think it was a mistake. I'm sure he's fully aware of how the classic tales go. He's just chosen a different path for his story. Like how the ninja in Naruto don't look anything like traditional ninja. He draws inspiration from them and makes his own unique version.

That is why I said "In my opinion".
And I wouldn't call changing one important (IMO ) thing in a legend "unique version."

Manda didn't defeat Katsuya. It didn't even have an effect since Katsuya just split up and reformed. It's true that Katsuya didn't really do anything in the fight, but that doesn't mean she's a weaker summon than Manda.

Very true! It is also true that most of the questions (99% is a good estimate) that have been posed in this thread are based on facts. Anyways, gansta_whatever, I doubt it would be as powerful as Kakashi's chidori, since mentioning words "Sasuke", "chidori", "as powerful as" and "Kakashi" in the same sentence is...
