Unique female lead! anime needed

Im on the hunt for a new romance anime but i tend to find
that all the females leads are quite typical, i like the romance animes where
the lead girl is either really weird, crazy or just slightly odd or out going
there really fun and interesting to see, not the really typical shy girl kinda thing, girls that stand out from the crowd and are different!. Here are a few examples of
girls that i thought were so interesting and unique!

Haruhi suzumiya - The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Sanako - Perfect Girl Evolution
Haruhi - Ouran High School Host Club
Rosette - Chrono Crusade

Ye so give me some suggestions oh! and also i like really
well drawn animes as well (sorry im picky) but ye suggestions
would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Midori no Hibi - physically unique at least... being a few inches tall and attached to the male lead's arm
Nodame Cantabile - Nodame is most definitely unique... romance isn't the main focus but it is there

Try Skip Beat! Kyoko, the protagonist, is quite unique.

In Saiunkoku Monogatari, the main character Shurei has a strong character.

You might like the female lead in Special A, she bears some resemblance to Haruhi on Ouran.

then there's also Eureka from Eureka Seven (mecha, adventure, action, romance), definitely odd and strange. You'll see what I mean if you watched the first 2 episodes.

Unique female lead? The first thing comes to mind would be Yakushiji Ryoko.

Air Master.. the girls in this series are all weird lol xD

Kurenai .. a little girl has been kept away from the outside world by her own family as a tradition has escaped and now needs protection. Has an independent, naive, innocent but also mature personality not seen very frecuently in animes.

Seirei no Moribito ... the lead character is a female bodyguard who is hired as the bodyguard of the prince to protect him from his own father's assasins. There is like a mother - son relationship between them and not the tipical lover one.

Well, half of the original Ef, a tale of memories and both of the main girls from the sequel ef, a tale of melodies would fit the spunky different girl type. I would also minorly suggest Hayate no gotoku, but its more of a comedy than romance. (actually its not really romance at all)

I third Spice and Wolf and second Seirei no Moribito, Hatenkou Yuugi, Kare Kano, and Hana Yori Dango.

The rest I would watch regardless of having unique female characters or not.

Yukino Miyazawa from KareKano; Lina Inverse from Slayers; Louise from Zero no Tsukaima; Kaname Chidori from Full Metal Panic. Also all of the Tenchi Muyo girls are quite unique/lively, especially Ayeka and Ryoko. Aaaand Konata and Kagami from Lucky Star... Brr there are many girls I find odd, lol.

Isn't she from DOTA? During my last band camp (held in classrooms) my room was practically the LAN Center. Lina was bound to appear in every game, for some reason.

Makoto from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is quite a unique female lol xD
It's an anime movie but WORTH the watch and the romance isn't all sappy either. It's a nice slice of life film.
