Ep 3 portrayed him as such a wuss cake. He wasn't this bad in the game.

Just watched episodes 1 and 2, and, well, let me just say, hearing this in Japanese feels really odd. Suffice to say, I dig the english dubs more (especially with Luke, Jade and oh god Anise).

I thought the game itself was pretty mediocre to be honest, its only saving grace was its amusing characters and their interactions (still got a bit put down by the overall character development though, Xenosaga spoiled me silly it seems), so I didn't really expect anything that would blow me away. I suppose I got just that.

BTW, did anyone else hear Anise do a Hanyuu-tastic 'auau~' before her famous line?

This anime has really nice background music, and the fight scenes are pretty cool. I haven't seen a light hearted action anime in years that didn't have people talking about friends or justice every 10 seconds, so this is definitely a refreshment.

Episode 3 was decent. Not anything special, but still decent. The covered material is about as expected.

But the Kekkaishi shining blood for people + monster blood for monsters + dark blood for corpses coloring technique is still there. -_-

Luke was expectantly, semi-annoying, but it's a rational flow of events considering his mindset and mental age. Fear upon being killed and the first time killing, the arrogance of claiming the next time would be fine, and the hesitance to go the final end which caused Tear's injury.

Level-Headed Tear and Magnificent Bastard Jade were the graces of the episode. Oh Luke~sama~

Guy's leap wasn't fabulous enough though. :/

Might end up be a little disappointed if you want a 'light-hearted action series.' It's not as light-hearted as it looks, as episode 3 itself is somewhat grim.

About "annoying" Luke.

I actually enjoyed his personality in early hours of game. Maybe because almost all of the main heros in JRPG I've played before were cool/silent/emo/etc-type and Luke was kind of a good change. Also, I completely agreed with him about Miew being annoying =] (I started like Miew only at the later part of the game).

I only have knowledge of the first two eps, but I have some questions for anyone who can answer.

1. The order of lorlei, are they the ones that kept a peace between the two big factions?
2. Is tear from the order of lorlei?
3. What is the significance of Ion?
4. The whole series seems to be about fonons and using them, so what exactly is the significance of a fonon?

3. He's the pope, basically.
4. Fonons are particles of sound that get used by casters to do magic and stuff. Also the basis of technology in this setting. Well, they'll explain things in more detail later, I think.

So many thing in my mind about this episode...jade having his fon slot sealed,still kicking largo's ass,regret being hot,largo being killed ( ) luke having his "i killed someone " sequence...

Anise swearing when she get thrown out of the tartarus was GOLD i absolutely love when she's saying that XD
(actually does that count as swearing,or just terribly rude?)

Also MIEU FIRE!

Still amazed at how they manage to follow the game line by line,with some added scene.

Ok, expanding on 3, being the pope, does everyone listen to him on both sides, and as such he is able to be the middle ground between the two factions and keep a peace?

and on 4, the anime is calling people... "fonons," as in they ARE fonons... well my head is spinning, but it will be explained soon enough. Although I would like to know if the order or lorlei is the one who pretty much maintains whatever peace is between the two kingdoms.

fonon are more like the source of life for everything,something like that.
people are made of fonon,and so is the world etc...

and some people can use them to do thing like jade's indignation and tears chant.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.
