Mmm~ Delicious.

Quite a bit of "You can't really say the humans are right!" type of animation/script at the beginning, but mah... We don't give a squat when killing spiders and other insects, after all. If you do Shiki = Insects, it is quite a normal reaction, no?
Oops, SORRY INSECTS! I was rude to compare you with Shiki... *Fake Tears* *Opponent's special defense greatly dropped!*

Anyways, just more elimination this episode.
Masao......... MASAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! The only "comedic" source for this anime, that great guy, finally(?) went back to where he belonged... I thought he would do something cool somewhere in the story, but he was just a pathetic fool 'till the very end... Shame...
He also stopped a fanservice scene from occuring!
I was wondering when his niece(?) would appear again, and she finally does now...Glad she's still alive (and with plenty reason to get revenge on the Shiki)

The werewolf girl got killed really simply... (O_O)
Seishirou is pretty much out of the picture too, being under Tooru's control.
The stupid priest just had to run to his home and get his family and co. involved in this entire thing.
And damn, he sure has some life... I thought priests are supposed to have low HP and Def, but he's sure doing good.


Well, finally at the end... Can't wait... *doki doki waku waku*


PS: There was one part in the episode that has a surreal Shiki flying in the air... That was hilarious... Not enough to beat our Masao though, of course

I thought this episode was gonna build upto a final confrontation between Toshio and Seishin, though i guess that could happen next week. That whole scene in the temple was just so depressing, especially Seishin coming across the corpses of his Mother and house members. My god the piece of music used for that whole scene was incredible. Horrible cliffhanger, meaning a horrible week wait.

Ritsuko and Toru.

Even though he was an arse, i felt sorry for Masao. I guess he did die the perfect way though.

How the hell Yasuyo survive that wolf attack without any bites i do not know.

& Seishirou attacking his own was pretty what the hell, though it probably has something to do with Natsuno. Speaking of Natsuno, he'll probably have a final scene with Megumi in next weeks finale. That will be good, i'm sure.

My heart was racing by the end. Of course, my sympathies are now entirely with Sunako and Seishin, and even Tatsumi. The people are the monsters.

As for serenade_beta's comparison with spiders, the big difference is that spiders don't have human-like consciousness. And that is an enormous difference.

I wasn't sure if I liked how Yuuki Aoi did that early scene or not, but it was definitely intense and memorable. Not naturalistic, but powerful.

I loved the scene of Rittchan and Tohru, together in death.

The ladies' tea-party, with bloodied hands, was excellent.

Personally I don't feel any pity for the Shiki, while I find the human behaviour disturbing (the tea scene comes to mind), the Shiki's current situation is nothing more than consequences of their own actions, they fully deserved it.

Also I had to lol at Sunako being the portable luggage loli, it's going to be the new rage in Japan.

Only Sunako's group is at fault imo. Rest of them didn't have any control over their actions. After living for so long, Sunako should have known better than to wipe out a whole village to create a bunch of Shiki to rule over. That's greedy.

Wonderfully done episode as usual. Found the scene at the beginning to be a bit disturbing(although I do understand the reasoning behind it). I feel sorry for the monk's family though. They got caught up in the madness for no reason at all(though it's his fault for involving them as well).The outcome of the war is pretty much decided. I guess it's a good thing that the plotline was resolved in this season only.

But that's the funny thing: it goes both ways

What I've enjoyed most about reading the discussions here and on blogs, is that some people feel the human-like consciousness of the Skiki means they don't deserve their fate, while others feel it's exactly that level of conciousness that makes them deserve it I'm not saying one's right and the other wrong, just an observation.

Yeah, I don't get this either, it's not like anyone was holding a gun over Ookawa and the other villager's heads. The temple people were unarmed and outnumbered, if they suspected them of being Shiki collaborators they could have just as easily tied them up, instead they elected to butcher them.

That scene of the three of those people getting murdered like that was even worse than last week's finale of the hypnotized guy getting executed. Seriously, how could Seishin have known that the villagers had gone so bloodcrazed they would kill human people in the temple at the drop of a hat like that. No excuse for the actions of Ookawa's group there.

Well, I hear that is one of the reasons why it is okay to kill certain animals (like pigs and insects), but it is not okay to kill others (like dogs and cats). Personally find it amusing though.
Either way, the villagers clearly don't care.

Yeah, entirely. It's his fault they got involved. Of all places to go, he had to go back to his place to hide.
Sure, he might not know the villagers were willing to kill his relatives and co., but he knows they have been hunting down Shiki, and that even if they weren't going to kill the people, that at least there was going to be a big fuss and trouble.
Yet he pretty much lured these people to his family, thus that result. ALL for the sake of some loli, oh that lolicon. I bet its worth sacrificing your family for that *beep* loli.

Well, if its that case, then Natsuno will probably be doing what he thought he should have done in the first place by killing Megumi. Since it was her that first got him to actually take notice of the vampires that were overwhelming the village. We don't know Sunako's fate yet, but she might actually get out scot-free but even more depressed at the loss that has happened around her.

wow the humans have completely lost it... they're starting to kill each other now... Also considering how small the village was, and how everyone knew each other I thought it would be hard for them to kill their friends who became shiki's.

I know! I think the villagers are taking killing a little too easily... But then again, its probably out of rage that they have lost many family members due to the vampires that plague their village? By showing their anger, they don't care if they kill them or not, just simply wishing to get rid of this by all means. While trying to suck up with the gore, and thinking they are not humans anymore.

Just like the writers ordered its like they trying to hate us at the human scum but im growing hatred NOW at the human side they are now like a mindless non-human savage beast like what the SS did to the Jews and the Japanese did to Nanking people.

I suspect the sole survivor would be Megumi she the only first victim die in the first episode and its impossible to be die another again in the last episode.

Nazi have nothing to do with this. They just happen to be purifying the village. Basically to protect their psychs from the damage of all the killing they are doing, the villagers "dehumanized" the shiki. Just like serenade_beta was implying, it's like they're killing very big roaches. No one sheds any tears for cockroaches.

The ladies break from processing all those bodies were something else. I haven't seen something like that since cat dissection lab. Again, those ex-friends and neighbors are "things" not people. Cockroach or frog is still twitching, shove that stake in further.

It's kind of sad all the people that were made into shiki. At least 3 pits worth of bodies there. Yikes!

And I agree with serenade_beta. That was dumb of Seinshin to go home with Sunako when he was being chased.

I agree with this.

I am one of the neutral people who is sympathetic towards both the humans and the Shiki, however I also believe that whatever bad happens to both is their own fault; excluding those from both sides who didn't actually/directly cause anything, as they only got caught up in the chaos by accident.

And wow, this episode. A lot of what happened was the inevitable, but for the most part, kinda of sad.

They should've ran away asap (like Tatsumi suggested at first), at least then more of them would've survived, in their pov.

Bad leader is bad (well, more like not good enough)...

And it's pretty inconvenient that Toshio can't follow Ookawa's gang, otherwise Seishin's relatives would not be killed.
