Wow, 7 Shana votes in a row. Is Mikoto doomed?

Don't jinx Mikoto. Two final round match losses in a row would be just way too painful. (Shana would also end up with a second final round loss, but not in a row)

Here is not exactly an even sampling of the results either.

If Railgun loses, I blame every Shana voter on this thread. :eyespin :

However -- it's the Japanese vote that I'm really afraid of.

Another vote for Shana, nothing against Mikoto tough, i like the girl but Shana managed to root in my heart after all this years.

The other choices were difficult too ...make choice between Sakura Kinomoto and Rei Ayanami you heartless monsters T-T

Voted earlier today but wanted some time to give reasons for the final match.

ARENA 01: [Shana] Misaka Mikoto
Shakugan no Shana really does have a great concept for a moe fantasy piece – a supernaturally gifted girl comes of age through petite badassery, finding love, and returning to her more “human” roots. And while some things about the franchise bug me, this core concept has been well handled. Over the past decade I’ve watched the original Kugamiya tsundere develop from adorably niave into one of the few well rounded examples of her kind – and her flame haze form looks as nifty as it ever did.
ARENA 02: [Gokō Ruri (Kuroneko)] Tachibana Kanade
Both have petite cuteness. Kanade has an adorable backstory and general “shy cuteness”, but Kuroneko (along with Charlotte and Nadeko) is part of my KanaHana “holy trinity” against which all others are judged and has the more appealing look and personality. As mentioned earlier, her artistic abilities appeal to me in a way no other character manages – and I also love her fashion sense, cuteness, and wit.
ARENA 03: [Nakano Azusa] Aisaka Taiga
Aisaka Taiga is very high on my favourites list, but I find Azusa more moe - her serious, sometimes reluctant nature is a goldmine for “awww” moments. She’s the one I’d prefer to know IRL too.
ARENA 04: Katsura Hinagiku [Nagato Yuki]
-The geek in me just finds her abilities and origin insanely cool, plus I’m a glasses man.
ARENA 05: [Akiyama Mio] Suzumiya Haruhi
-Talented, nice, and beautiful in a way that (at least in the less otaku-centric second season) comes across as quite believable.
ARENA 06: [Yui] Eucliwood Hellscythe
-One has infectious energy, the other is like the total opposite. I’ll go with the former.
ARENA 07: [Kashiwazaki Sena] Gasai Yuno
The cuter of the two, and the one whose enthusiasm is appealing rather than “oh shit why is she cheerful?”.
ARENA 08: Konoe Subaru [Abstained] Takakura Himari
Neither really piqued my interest (Ringo would be a different story).
ARENA 09: Shionji Yūko (Alice) [Abstained] Kaga Rin
On the flip side, I think both of these two are great but for very different reasons and I don’t want to choose between them.
ARENA 10: Ayanami Rei [Abstained] Kinomoto Sakura
Gut feeling is that Sakura would probably win this but as I’ve only seen clips from CCS I didn’t want to make a call.

Probably way too late to be getting into this sort of thing, but here goes.

The tough ones personally were Shana vs Mikoto, Alice vs Rin, and I guess Sena and Yuno.

Have to say I do like the animations for the voting area. Makes me think back to the really early years of the ISML when I was grabbing pictures for the contestant areas .

Down to the last line of defence eh ? That happens pretty early for me. My moe is off from the rest of the universe so get deflated quickly. Luckily I like Shana even though like Mikoto a bit more. No bad choices in that matchup.

Best of luck to the girls. Although maybe I'm late saying that.

Edit: I know Crisu already mentioned how it doesn't really correlate, but seeing the Facebook 'likes' top 43k+, might we get close to 20k total votes?

So, about this "december exhibition". Where will it take place? On the main website, or on the ISML forums?

Now for the rush as the ballot boxes make their way back, under the strictest of security, to the Central Tally Room, where in a few short hours we will know the victor. Until then we have our reporters standing by at the two leading candidates home towns, Academy City and Misaki City to give us a taste of the atmosphere as the counting draws ever closer, this is Sir David Dimbleby from the Central Tally room, International Saimoe HQ.
