12 years...I actually felt a bit emotional for a second while reading that last page.

This series had both incredible highs and horrible lows, but it's been quite the ride.
I'll miss this manga very much.

Also if you look at the daughter's hair it's exactly like Kenichi's,Sakaki has a dark hair.

On the other hand if you look at the picture, the girl has a short hair,so either Miu cut her hair or it isn't actually Miu,I mean if the hair color could be clearly seen, then we would just assume that Miu cut her hair, but the hair color isn't very clear in that picture.
It's mui if you look to her side you can see her hair. Plus the little girl has her hair clip
On top of that if you read the last page it talks about going over the cliff to masterdom. Saki is already a master.

It's just a troll saying it's Sakaki lol.

The wedding picture isn't anything to go by. Miu likely just had her hair styled up without letting it hang down like usual (like putting it up in a bun or something like that). Or eventually she simply decided to cut her hair.

It's the end of an era.

The mangas that I started reading from way back in the day are ending one after another. First Air Gear, then Negima and now this.

I remember back when Nerieru was translating this, we used to get 5 or so chapters everyday, there was such a backlog. I would constantly be checking all through the day to see if a new chapter would come out. It was such an exciting time, it really makes me feel nostalgic now.

Thanks for all the fun, History's Greatest Disciple!

Hmm I've read somewhere at some point online that there was going to be a sequel. I'm hoping that the sequel is him rising through the expert ranks to a master. Also ... Honoka was hanging out with Sougetsu. I wonder how she will be influenced by this

Then HSDK would be going in the same direction as Negima

both series finishes with an extremely unsatisfying ending, then comes a sequel :

Agree, I find it weird that authors or even publishers find it okay to end the ending when ever and how ever.

The Negima ending was NOT OKAY. The ending to HSDK, could have been better. It was definitely not the way to end a 12 year running masterpiece in my book.

In no way is the ending of HSDK as bad as the ending of Negima. Negima's ending was a huge FU to the audience. AK didn't even try to end all the plotlines he had started. Kenichi's end was a disappointment I agree, but it was in no way on the level of Negima.

And whatever MS's next work may be I certainly hope it'll be better than UQ Holder which is as far as I'm concerned a manga which only barely manages to cling to life through mostly lame cameos. The setting itself is uninspiring so far.

I remember reading HSDK so so long ago... It was a very strange ride...

I got disgusted after the first few Yomi arcs, but coming back to the end reminds me why I enjoyed it in the first place.

It was a darn good ending.

i just wish there was more of an epilogue on all their futures. but yeah it was a good reminder.

decent ending, it did the standard life goes on but the major event ended as thus close the story with some pictures scene trope but kind of expected that.

Honestly FMA did it best by far but this one is still better then Negima.

just meh because well there were so many lose ends and some of the tied up loose ends were just unfilling. I honestly didn't even care about the last battle as it was very obvious what was coming battlewise (other then the main villain father is really some other guy in a mask... and your dads a good guy... seriously...) and the villains plans for the war were so trite that it hurt.

Still it ended with him as the strongest disciple as the title says rather then continue with him as expert and master level so I give him props for just closing it.

I doubt there will be any sequel. I think the author will now take a break and then resume on a new project. This manga should have ended long ago.... after the D of D tournament arc in my opinion. He dragged it too long which became quite boring and seriously more like Dragonball with each passing arc.

I must say Sho Kano was my favorite character. While the author did a good job killing him off and all that drama, I think he could have introduced him a lot earlier so we can get more of him. He was a very interesting guy.

It was kind of an unsatisfying end, but it really doesn't deserve to be compared to Negima. At least this ending didn't just dodge around the entire goal of the manga in a few pages with no real explanation.

One-shot Kanata (i don't think that need a topic until it's published for a weekly ?) :

The pencil and kunai thing were awesome.
Anyways, it's just some random ninjas thing. ^^

I didn't really like the newest one shot I'm holding out hope that the fantasy one is better since that's the only one I liked the art for.
