I'm afraid it's tech...

The Prologue of the 2nd arc shows that some of the weapons my guys use have been upgraded, but it came with some drawbacks.

I would like his thoughts on it.

Well, if Vol. 8 gets translated in August, I guess I can use the time between now and then for my fic, Sword Art Online Vol. 12 and High School DxD New...

Uh, Zero. I think I'll have to scrap the original plan of giving the Canon characters their spotlight back in the 2nd arc. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think it's due to that my guys are going to learn that not all females are not like the ones they've encountered before.

What do you think?

The greatest problem is that all past tech was already told that it sucks below the IS in all forms. There is no measure of skill, smarts, luck or any combination of which that would make it even come close. That is estlablished by fandom, by readers, by fanfic writers and pretty much everyone. The fact we even get pushed up with such a suit, with no indication of such technology being developed since the start irked me.

We fanfic writers make anti-Is measures because that's all we got. Heck if I could I woulda wrote about a guy just plain outsmarting IS. Izuru had that right, it was within his frikkin' grasp. The fact it was Chifuyu would demonstrate her upper limit of power and badassery. As said before he didnbt really pay attention to realism anyway, why start now? Then add the whole, Tabane is just as strong as Chifuyu and you more than just shake up the fandom, you are essentially inverting the status quo. That is not a bad thing, but Tabane was described as someone who never leaves her lab, even training in the family style should be limited. I could believe her better than Houki but having Chifuyu as her only eual just tells me something went horribly horribly wrong.

Okaaaay. So a little something for the russian unit

Name: Telesma
Nationality: Russian
Generation: 2nd
feature: puppet motion system, A.U.R.B.s
Weapons: Gigant Manos

Description: The Telesma is an IS that consists of basic frame set. Gauntlets and leg units. It has a single burner thruster on the back but a stabilizing booster wing array for increased flight capability. These wings can be cast-off when necessary. What makes the Telesma unique is the pair of shoulder guards which are held by the PIC field. They are as tall and nearly twice as wide as the IS itself. The shield actually follows the motions of the pilot's arm. The shield features Five swords which extend and act as fingers turning the shields into giant manipulator hands. The underside of the shield features a pair of 6-barrel 22mm mini-guns.

The unit also features A.U.R.B.s or Autonomous Universal Reconnaissance Bits. These are small drones that provide a wide range of vision and information to the pilot. Generally used to make up for the impairment of perception due to wielding the large Gigant Manos. They can also be used for scouting and have a wide range of 30km radius of operation

To-Aru fic experiments with weird stuff while for IS fanfic, I think I will have fun mostly with gender issue.

Tech is not really much of a problem for me so the most important thing which I keep tripping on, are the characters.

Interaction has been mentioned, really hard to do.

Solution is do what Startospear did: reduce the number of original character down to bare minimal. Sart with one then slowly expand outward.

Since I am going to go with One original character, I probably need to work on a lame yet interesting original character....

Probably need to up the dork and Quirky level.

Referring to above statement about IS being more of a gender issue:

The male lead is probably one who has given up on real life....preferring 2d girls over 3d.

How does a loser like him get selected? This one I think I need opinion.

Two Concept:

Old Concept (less high-tech): He is the one who build the entire system. He is mere in ISA to oversee the completion.

Vampire concept: He is technically dead and got revive by the undead technology (a pretty damn expensive one). Since he own them money and he is technically undead, the company is feel to abuse him to try out their bleeding edge technology.

The Vampire concept is pretty mind-blowing level of Nano-technology but I think I can justify it as a more successful variation of Laura's nano-enhancement.

The vampire concept also justify his dislike for 3d women (died once) and make up for some pretty abusive fail scene.

Edit: I am such a retard.... the old Plushie idea work just as fine

Here it goes: Spoiler for Frontal: = Formula Frontal 01 “Frontal” = The Frontal is the first full-fledged prototype from a line of transformable exo-skeleton powered armor units known as Formula Frontals. Former IS engineer Ayami Toyoma developed the Formula Frontal since the Infinite Stratos’ debut ten years ago, aiming to build a superior lineage of machines to step up and replace the IS. Using research data of an IS Core and a certain previous failed IS project, she patches known exploits found from studies of the Core and a certain “fault” and “limits” of it. The result is the variable powered armor unit Frontal, the product of the fusion of advanced IS tech and experimental military weapons tech refined into a single weapons platform. Sporting a unanimous platinum white color, the Frontal symbolizes the first unit of its kind akin to the IS’ White Knight. What sets it apart of current generations of IS, or the IS in general, is its unique variable system that allows the user to switch to Out-Form Mode, where the Frontal transforms into a sub-flight jetpack unit within seconds. Another special feature of the Frontal is the SA Weapons systems whereby the unit’s armaments are built into the frame itself as separated parts.
