Hi everyone, I introduced myself a while ago here but went back to lurking shortly thereafter. Sorry for such a late (and critique-ful) response, but I've come out of lurking now, I think.

Lifting a hand, Vivio smiled and waved goodbye one last time to Lio and Corona as they disappeared around the corner before turning her back to them, taking a moment to adjust her book bag before she started to walk the last leg of her journey home. School had let out several minutes ago, and this was usually the place where she separated from her friends.

As she walked, she let her mind wander. Fate and Nanoha were both still at work so far as she knew, and in fact probably wouldn’t be home until late tonight; an unusual thing, but understandable when Fate was preparing for another Enforcer job and Nanoha was breaking in a new squad of recruits. Even then she was never home alone: usually Erio and Caro came to keep her company, or Lutecia, or even all three at once. Vivio knew that Erio and Caro would be there, but when she’d asked if Lutecia was coming along she’d been told that the purple-haired woman was currently deeply involved in a mission for her unit.

As Lutecia drifted into her thoughts, Vivio sighed. Almost without her noticing, her walk slowed.

All things considered, Vivio liked to think she’d done a good job hiding her feelings for her older friend. Considering that she was fifteen and so far had kept things quiet, she was pretty sure she was doing a great job hiding her feelings from Lutecia; not counting her first kiss with the girl when she’d been thirteen.

She was beginning to wonder, though. The last few weeks had seen a drastic change in the older woman’s behavior; perhaps not truly as major as Vivio perceived them to be, but they were certainly important if they caught her attention in the first place. Never one to falter or act shyly around her younger friend, Lutecia had recently become so tongue-tied and nervous around Vivio that it was almost hilarious. The poor woman stumbled over her own sentences and lately, seemed to be watching the younger girl in an apprehensive light that was new and different.

She was also starting to avoid Vivio.

That was a new development, only a few days old really, but it was enough to confuse and hurt Vivio as much as it annoyed her. The only conclusion she could come to after agonizing over it was that she’d somehow slipped up and made her feelings obvious to Lutecia, without even realizing it, and now she was being rejected.

Vivio didn’t even realize she’d stopped walking completely as the thought slowly seeped into her brain. It was certainly something she’d contemplated once or twice, but if that was the truth why hadn’t Lutecia started avoiding her immediately? Why had she seemed so nervous and uncertain before she’d begun avoiding her?

It doesn’t make any sense…

So lost in thought was she that at first, Vivio didn’t even hear her name being called. Several minutes later, she felt a soft hand touch her shoulder, and nearly jumped two feet in the air. Heart pounding and pulse racing, she whirled around.

And stared.

Obviously fighting back laughter, Einheart Stratos smiled in greeting. “Hello,” she said softly. “Long time no see, Vivio.”

Vivio blinked dumbly, staring at the silver-haired girl for several minutes, before her brain began to properly function again. “Ein?” she squeaked. It took her several more minutes to realize that what she saw before her was real, and not a result of her heavy thinking. When the realization finally sunk in, she gave the older girl a radiant smile. “Ein! Long time no see!”

Chuckling, Ein stepped forward and accepted Vivio’s hug. “Yes, it’s been awhile. Sorry. I didn’t mean to disappear like that.”

“Stuff happens.” Vivio shrugged, shifting the weight of her book bag. “Don’t apologize.” Stepping back, she smiled. “What are you doing here, anyway?” she asked. “I thought you were in another part of town now.”

At that, Ein… blushed. Not a particularly heavy or deep blush, but a light dusting of pink along her cheeks that made Vivio blink. Noticing the blonde’s curious look, the silver-haired girl seemed to resist the urge to fidget. “Actually, I wanted to talk to you,” she said at last, her voice still soft. “It’s important. Do you have a place we can go?”

A little confused, Vivio nodded slowly. “Actually, I do.”

She still had some time to kill before Erio and Caro came over, anyway. Call her a baby, but she didn’t like the idea of going home to an empty house.

The Midori-ya shop established on Mid-Childa had been there for as long as Vivio could clearly remember; Momoko and Shiro hadn’t needed much of a reason to follow their daughter to another planet, and had settled in so well that Lindy often teased that they were naturally born for it. The cake shop was still small, but Vivio adored it.

The bell over the door rang as it opened, and at the counter Arf’s ears twitched as she glanced up from the magazine she was reading, grinning. “Hey, Vivio,” she greeted.

“Hi, Arf.” Vivio returned Arf’s grin as Einheart hung back behind her, still appearing to be nervous. “Are Grandma and Grandpa around?” The shop was obviously caught in a quiet hour, that lull between school closing and the dinner rush. Vivio didn’t doubt if they’d come earlier, the place would have been packed to bursting.

“They’re on break right now, and Yuuno let me go to help them out.” Absently, Arf turned a page in the magazine. “Place is all mine right now.” She said this with a quiet, wolfish smirk on her face.

Smirking, Vivio shook her head and gestured for Einheart to sit down. “Don’t eat too much, okay? I know Grandpa and Grandma don’t mind, but eating so much cake is going to make you sick. Again.”

Arf grumbled good-naturedly (“It’s a cake shop, of course I’ll eat cake!”) and went back to her magazine as the two girls sat down in a small booth nearby, tilting her ears slightly to discreetly listen to their conversation. She recognized that look in Einheart’s eyes, and figured Vivio would need some help when this was all said and done. “You kids want drinks or something?” she asked.

Einheart shook her head politely while Vivio responded with “No thanks, Arf, I’m good.” Satisfied by the familiar’s small shrug, the golden-haired girl rested her book bag in the seat and glanced at Einheart. “I hope you don’t mind, but Midori-ya always gets quiet at this time and I still have some time to kill before I need to go home.”

Einheart shook her head again. “No, no, it’s fine.” Her hand tightened slightly around the napkin she was clutching for dear life, having snatched it up when she’d sat down. “I won’t be long. I just wanted to talk.”

“Ein, don’t worry about it.” Vivio laughed. “I’m not in a rush. Nanoha-mama and Fate-mama are both working, and it’s still going to be awhile before Erio-nii and Caro-nee come over. I have plenty of time.”

“It still won’t take long.” The silver-haired girl took a deep breath. “I really don’t have much to say.”

Vivio blinked, confused. “Well, okay, but there really isn’t any rush—“

“I like you.”

Dead silence followed this confession. As it stretched on, Arf casually flipped another page of her magazine, briefly glancing up over it to keep an eye on what was happening in the booth. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Vivio swallowed slightly, trying to soothe her suddenly dry throat. “You… like me,” she said at last, weakly, and Einheart nodded.

Vivio wasn’t stupid. She knew exactly what Einheart meant when she said she liked her; the implication of it was enough to have her heart racing and her muscles freezing. After a minute or two, she slowly took a deep breath.

“Ein…”

She looked at her friend—really looked at her, wanting to see her. In some small corner of her mind, she had to admit the truth: Einheart really was very beautiful, in her own way. She still wore her hair pulled back in loose pigtails that didn’t look childish at all, her eyes calm and steady even after confessing her feelings. She had a good personality; even after all these years, she was still as dependable and sure of herself as ever, though she’d loosened up considerably. The logical side of her noted that there was only a year age difference between them; certainly not something that would cause much trouble for either of them, much less her mothers.

But even as the thoughts flitted through her head, Vivio was smart enough to know that what she was thinking now wasn’t emotional in the least; in fact, despite her initial shock to Einheart’s confession, she felt nothing else. No amazement, no relief, no giddiness.

Fleetingly, the image of a tall, older woman with long purple hair and amused red eyes passed through her mind’s eye before vanishing, and in that moment Vivio knew. “Ein,” she said again, softly. “I…”

Einheart must have seen something in her eyes, her posture; she must have heard something in her voice. Her hands relaxed around the napkin and she smiled, sadly. “You’re already in love with someone else.”

Wordlessly, Vivio nodded. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

Einheart shook her head. “It’s all right.” There was a long pause before she met Vivio’s gaze. “May I ask why? Why you love her?”

Vivio closed her eyes for a moment before her lips twitched. “She’s just… always been there. Even when I was little and our age difference was a big thing, she never left me behind.” She opened her eyes, and smiled softly. “I’ve always felt like I can tell her anything, no matter how stupid, and she’ll listen. She gets extra points for letting me hide with her whenever my moms and I don’t get along.” She paused, then winced. “I’m sorry, this is making no sense—“

“No. It makes perfect sense, actually.” If Einheart was hurt or angered by Vivio’s rejection, she wasn’t showing it in a way that Vivio could see it. She stood up and slid out of the booth, giving Vivio’s hands a soft squeeze as she passed by. “I wish you luck in confessing to her.”

Vivio blinked. “How did you—“

Einheart just smiled at her one last time and, without another word, left Midori-ya in a quick, easy stride that had her out the door before Vivio could even blink again. Her unusual speed was explained a minute later, as a bus slowly inched to a stop by the curb of the cake shop, opening its doors.

In a blur of silver, Einheart was gone as the bus pulled away, picked up speed, and vanished into the distance.

Vivio sat there, almost dumbly, staring ahead at nothing as her muscles slowly relaxed and her heart slowed its racing speed. After several minutes, she leaned forward and rested her forehead against the table, releasing a deep, shuddering sigh. Wordlessly, Arf set down her magazine and went around the counter, gently resting her hand on Vivio’s head, stroking her hair softly as the girl struggled to contain her emotions.

They stayed that way for a long time, as light slowly faded from the sky and darkness seeped in to signal the coming of evening.

The End

The confession scene and its aftermath bugs me for some reason, but writing it out was surprisingly painful so I just wanted to get it over with as quickly as I could.

You know, I think it's the fact that there was little build up to Ein's appearance. Vivio was walking home, thinking of Lutecia, when Ein suddenly appeared after being gone for a while. I think there needs to be more conversation. They're friends right? So I would've thought they'd be trying to catch up first before Ein goes to the point of her visit.

A/N: I feel this scenario should actually be extended to where they're hanging out for a while, going to an ice cream parlor or whatnot if it turns out Ein's only in town for a short period.

Otherwise, especially with the ending, it feels like she dropped by just to confess to Vivio. Kinda like it was a last minute sort of thing. Actually, Ein almost feels like any other random character walking up and confessing rather than someone who (possibly) gave a lot of thought to their actions, and has known Vivio since childhood.

Still, you said it was a challenge did you not? And that you found it painful to write? You did well considering

Einhart almost faltered her dancing, cheeks coloring darkly, noticeable even under her makeup. “H-Hey, you're just in heels.”

Turning them around happily, Vivio moved with the soft tune while teasing her friend. “You're in heels... mine are flat.” The revelation made Einhart look down slightly, staring at Vivio's necklace. “Well, it’s okay. I kind of like this.”

“Meanie,” Einhart protested, glancing back up at the woman who was just a few inches taller.

Would Vivio really be taller than Ein? I went over Ch. 7 of Vivid and when Vivio was in a stance while Ein was standing upright, Ein actually seemed taller so I'm thinking if Vivio were to straighten also, they'd be about the same height.

Nice ta meet you first off.

And second off, Vivio's a teen in that fic and going off the theory that the Kaiser form from StrikerS and the Adult Mode from Vivid are what Vivio will grow up to be, Vivio will become the tallest female character in the series so she probably will be taller than Ein.

So, I came up with this in my head.

It was the night, this night, that she was going to make him a very lucky man. Okay, so she hadn't seen him much in the past several years, but she still remembered when he groped her chest those years ago. Okay, so it wasn't on purpose, and he was embarrassed when he did that, but it didn't bother her. After all, Hayate had groped her on more than one occasion, so that didn't matter.

As she walked up to his door, she looked herself over. Just a simple outfit, a simple black dress. Honestly, it was actually embarrassing her to wear this and be seen by people. The sheer amount of people whistling and catcalling her was embarrassing.

Oh well, it would be worth it in the end.

Knocking on the door, she waited for the person inside to open up.

"Coming!" She heard his voice just before the door opened up. He had grown in the past few years, the surprise and shock on his face was all she needed to know that this was the right thing. "Signum, what..?"

She stopped any more questions as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss.

Yes, tonight, Signum was going to make Yuuno Scrya a very lucky man.

Saw a pic, a few months ago, that had Yuuno groping Signum's chest and Signum was actually guiding Yuuno's hand. So... Yeah.

Yes, it was a challenge, and yes, the confession and rejection scenes were incredibly painful to write. I don't even like Ein all that much, but by the end of the fic I was in tears, so I just posted what I had and said screw it to backstory.

More like it touched just a little too well on something that happened to me IRL, where I was in much of the same position that Ein was.

This problem seems to be unique to Opera browser. I checked on IE and Firefox and fanfics are properly aligned left, whereas on the Opera (which is my default) has them all aligned center. Grr. Any ideas on how to fix that? I've already upgraded to the latest version but that didn't work.

Make sure the alignment isn't messed on on FF.N itself in that browser. On upper right hand of screen you can shift the reading view to 1/2 or 3/4 of the screen. That's only a guess if it'd even work with your problem though T_T

Well, color me stupid. When your suggestion didn't work (nothing happened), I checked with Opera settings, and it turned out that I had disabled JavaScript for FF.net. When I re-enabled the script, the fics were properly aligned to right.

Does that mean FF.net fics have their alignment stripped when uploaded? Sounds messy.

Alrighty...here's part II of the damn thing I wanted to write and where I can finally start breaking off from the main story. The next chapter I write should be chapter 1 lol

Morning came by too soon. It had only been a few hours since I summoned Archer. I looked over at the clock and noted that it was already past 9. "Well" I thought "there is no point in going to school now. I cant show up late as I am supposed to be an honor student, so I'll just skip today." My body is heavy as I try to pull myself up. I didn't realize that a Servant would take up this much energy from me, much less cause this much fatigue. I suppose its only natural since I did just make a crazy summoning and only fall asleep several hours ago.

"Ugh let's go already" I tell myself as my body wishes and wishes that I stay in bed. "Come on, Vivio. You aren't this weak!" I may only have half my magical energy left but I should still be able to function properly. Besides, I have to check on that rude Servant I summoned. Knowing Archer's personality shed probably tear apart the whole house before cleaning it. Shes a rude person with no manners for her Master--or anyone else for that matter it seems, and on top of that she has no idea who she is! "Why couldn't I summon Saber?" I groan one more time as I make my way to the mirror and begin preparing myself.

"You are very bright but you always get nervous when it counts" my mother's voice echoes through my mind as if it were only yesterday.

"I know mom...I know..." I answer back. "I guess I will have to live without knowing what her powers are. I doubt if she knows who she is that she'll remember what she can actually do." I sigh deeply once again before heading into the living room. "Wow..." I couldn't help but saying as I gaze into the previously destroyed room "I should probably give her more credit" i couldn't help but muttering. The room was exactly the way it was before she totaled it. I was expecting only the rock and rubble to be cleaned up so I was surprised to see everything fully restored. "Maybe she really is a nice person" I thought as I went up to the previously destroyed furniture and looked over them.

"So, the princess finally wakes up. What are you, a cat or something?"

"Ok" my mind reanalyzes "I take that back...this attitude of hers definitely doesn't deserve any kind of praise or reward." I sigh inwardly "Good morning to you too. I see you've made yourself at home here."

"Yeah well this is where I had to spend the night so I figured I might as well make it look nice. The Command Spell effects wont wear off unless I cleaned it so I might as well do it right. Oh and if you were wondering, I cleaned up the kitchen as well. I am surprised though. I expected it to be a bigger mess than this room was but it was surprisingly clean."

"What the?" I am caught off guard "Why is this creep checking on how clean my house is? Aren't Servants meant for battles only? Is this person broken?" I hold my head "We definitely have a lot of problems ahead of us."

"You ok?" she looks me over "You seemed fine earlier but I guess the lack of energy is finally catching up to you."

"I am fine" I wave it off "I'll be ok after I drink some tea"

"Ok..." Archer walked over to the kitchen and pulled out a tea cup as if she knew where everything was. She came back over and poured a rose-colored tea for me before serving it.

"What is it about this girl?" I started thinking as I watched Archer perform this small task "She may seem like a rude person, but her movements are well refined." I continue to stare a bit longer and sip the tea offered. "Thank you" I sip the tea and immediately feel like I am floating in the clouds.

"Heh heh heh..." I hear her chuckle.

"What's so funny?"

"I was going to ask how good it was, but seeing that face answers my questions already."

"...!" I slam the cup down on the table, embarrassment taking over my face.

"Hey now, even I know that is expensive tea. You shouldn't waste it, so go on, enjoy it while its hot. I can leave if I am distracting you."

"No, its just that I have never heard of a Servant who serves tea and cleans up the house. I need a powerful familiar not a butler."

"I'll be careful from now on then." she sounded a little relived and disappointed at the same time.

"So, have you figured out who you are yet?"

"Unfortunately, no. My memory is still hazy so even if I am able to recall small scenes here and there, it would be no point if it doesn't help me figure out who I am."

"Hmmm" I look at her but cant say anything when she answers me with truth in her eyes. "Alright I'll think of something in the meantime. For now we should get you used to the area so I'll show you around town."

"Lets get going then."

"You cant possibly be going like that now right?"

"If I was going in this form, then yes I would need to change. I am a spirit though, so there is no need for me to be present. I could just change into spirit form and follow you around, it would also reduce the strain on your magic."

"Then how will we find other Masters?"

"Just as mages can sense other mages, Servants can detect other Servants. If we come into range of one I'll be able to tell even if the master is hiding their presence."

"Hmm that's good, so can you tell where the others are?"

"I'm an Archer class...sensing from great range isn't the job for a knight you know."

"Crap I forgot...so that means that only the Servant Caster would be able to tell where everyone is." I sigh at my own mistake "Anyway, lets go Archer."

"Ok, but aren't you forgetting something? Something very important?"

"Huh?"

"Oh geez...I am glad I got summoned by a powerful mage...but would it be too much to ask for them to have a little brain as well?"

"Wha-?!" I am in shock "How rude can this person get?!" but then I start thinking "Come to think of it...all shes called me so far is 'Master'." my senses finally return "Crap..names."

Archer looks at me like I am completely hopeless "Well what shall I call you from now on?"

"Alright...fine I'll admit it" I tell myself silently "She really is a good person." Names don't really mean anything in a forced relationship like this, but Archer is calling it important. "I guess I should trust her more seeing as shes trusting me enough to ask for my name and willing to let me fight along side her." I take a breath "I am Takamachi, Vivio. Call me whatever you want." I turn my head away blushing slightly.

"Hmm" she mutters my name several times before looking back at me "Alright, I shall call you Vivio." she says smiling "What's wrong Vivio? Are you ok?"

I feel blood rushing to my face as she calls my name "S-shut up! Lets go already! We don't have time!" I storm out in order to hide my embarrassment. "I bet shes making fun of me...I bet she is." I try to convince myself "She just wants me to be embarrassed and have my heart pounding like mad. Shes dangerous..be careful Vivio." I mentally tell myself as we step out of the door.

We go through all the town noting all the places of interest as well as places of strategic value. Even though I cant feel her, I can tell that Archer is taking in everything as if writing a map of the area into her brain. I cant help but smirk at that "She really is an Archer. Always looking out for even the slightest thing and taking in everything to allow for her advantage." After a little bit more walking, we end up at a small desolate park.

"This place" her voice goes through my mind "its full of grudges and the stench of death."

"You noticed it too huh? You are right...this is the place where the last war ended. I don't know the details, but its said that a great fire came through here and burned for several days. You can sense grudges?"

"Servants are spirits, so its only natural that we can sense other spirits. This place is more like a Reality Marble though, with all the negative energy flowing."

"A Reality Marble? Isn't that forbidden magic? Furthermore whats the difference between that and a barrier?"

"A barrier is something you erect over an area that helps protect a certain space. Its applied to something that's already there. A Reality Marble is different. It is not something that is placed on something already there, but completely distorts what's there and forces its own image on the world. In other words it doesn't just protect the area inside...it completely *remakes* it to whatever the caster's heart desires."

I stare at the invisible Servant next to me.

"What is it strange for me to know that?"

"Actually, yes. That is the ultimate forbidden magic and even its name is hidden from almost everyone so yes, its surprising that an Archer would know about it."

"I see." she sighs "Vivio, we Servants are people that excel in both magic and weaponry. Its fine if you think that all I can use is a bow, but dont be taking such liberties towards other Servants."

"Ugh" she hits me in the critical spot "I'm sorry I was careless. I'll be careful ok?"

"Why I should--" I stop

"Vivio"

"Silence, Archer" my right arm is burning where the Command Spell is located as if warning me about something "someone is watching us." I slowly expand my senses to search the immediate area. "Tch, I cant find him, how about you?"

"Nothing...I cant even feel the stare."

"So its a Master watching." the off feeling disappears. "Hes gone"

"This will be troublesome"

"I don't think hes identified us yet, but I think we should move so he doesn't have time to set up a trap. I wont hide my magical energy so that they can come to us. It would save us the trouble of going to them."

"That method suits you quite well, Vivio."

We continue to walk around some more and the sun has already set, the night sky brings forth a small cool breeze. I finally take Archer towards the tallest building in town and out to the roof.

"What do you think?" I ask Archer who is now standing next to me "Great view right?"

"Its nice and very informative but--" she turns around suddenly

"Well now....there is already a Master here it seems" a voice calls from behind.

"What?!" I call out as I spin around

Standing before us is what appears to be a little red headed teenager holding a long pole.

"You said 'Master' so that means-!" I call out

"Be careful Vivio" Archer stands in front of me "that's a Servant."

"Hmm~" the unknown Servant looks over at us "So that girl behind you is the Master huh? Here I thought it was the other way around ha ha ha." he lowers his weapon

"Lancer..." Archer breathes out glaring at him

"Hmmm~ since you are acting like that I guess that means you are my enemy right?" he grins and gets into a stance

Archer follows suit and pulls out a short-sword.

"Servant Lancer" I repeat Archer's words.

"That's correct" he bows lightly "and your servant is Saber." he glances at the short sword "Or...maybe not?" he tilts his head in confusion "Who the hell are you?"

Archer continues to glare silently as Lancer looks her over

"Ok" Lancer breaks his stance to further analyze Archer "you have a short-sword so that means you don't quite excel in single combat." he looks harder "So you must be Archer."

"Pretty slow observation, does the rest of you move that slowly?" Archer finally speaks

"Keh" Lancer spits out "go on, take out your bow. I have manners so I'll at least wait for that."

Archer still doesn't move, almost as if shes waiting for something

"Vivio" she calls out

"Oh right!" I hang my head "Archer, as your Master I order you to show me your powers."

With that Archer flies towards Lancer. Sparks begin to fly as the short-sword and lance exchange blows.

"What is this?" Lancer asks more amused than surprised "A bowman pretending to be a swordsman? I've never seen such ridiculous things!" he laughs as he allows Archer to entertain him.

Archer swings her sword and tries to parry Lancer's attacks while moving forward trying to get into his blind spot. Unfortunately Lancer has advantage in range and easily disarms Archer. However, when i thought the defenseless Archer is about to be stabbed...the sound of steel hitting steel echoes once again.

"No way!" I say to myself as this time both of Archer's hands have short swords.

The weapons once again clash in the darkness, the two Servants soar through the night under the guidance of the moon. I watch in utter amazement at the display of action before me. The sword scrapes along the lance and before I can draw a breath--no even before I can blink the next attack follows immediately. Her arms are a complete blur to me, their attacks follow each other in rapid succession. This complete and brutal force is definitely not of this world.

"Incredible..." I breathe out in pure amazement. Maybe its because I am a mage but I can see them...I can actually SEE their moves! That essence alone makes me even more amazed at this battle happening before me.

Archer's blades and Lancer's lance fly between the realm of possible and impossible. They are moving so fast I bet for them time is passing far slower than normal.

"Heh you can move pretty well. As expected of an Archer, your agility is very high." Lancer praises her "in that case!"

"...!"

Lancer starts to spin around as if gathering speed then interestingly enough...jumps backwards. Archer thinks this is a good chance and rushes forward.

"No! Archer!" I call out stopping her in her tracks.

On the other end of the roof Lancer tenses up like a bow about to fire. He may have stopped moving, but that stance and that battle aura make it really hard to advance. Archer looks at me as if telling me to get away. Even if the distance between them has increased...Lancer's speed will be able to cover it in a matter of seconds.

"Let's see how you hand this Archer!"

Archer braces herself with her twin swords and meets Lancer's gaze. The two of them seem to be waiting for something, anything, to signal their attack. I myself am so absorbed I think I stopped breathing. A cloud passes over the moon and dims its light...that was the signal

"Try THIS!" Lancer yells out as she charges at Archer with the full speed of a lightning based bullet.

Instead of dodging to the side, Archer charges forward into the deadly attacking aimed at her heart. A loud clang echoes on the roof as the moon shines its light on us once again. I couldn't believe my eyes..there were seven attacks but there was the sound of only one.

"...keh missed" Lancer states the obvious half disappointed as he pulls his lance out of the side of the wall. "Not bad at all" he smirks. He raised his weapon to the sky where dark clouds started to form and before we knew it a bolt of lightning came down and struck the lance. "Thunder Rage..." he mutters

He changed at Archer once again and this time aims to disarm her for good. The techniques work beautifully and Archer looses her weapons. However...each moment after the weapon is dislodged yet another sword appears in her hands. its unbelievable but does she have an infinite number of devices?

"That's impossible!" I think to myself "No one should have more than one device no matter HOW powerful they are!" but I cant deny the image in front of me. That's right...my eyes see Archer being disarmed time and time again but each time she looses one sword another appears in its place. "Who are you, Archer...." I couldn't help but mutter out as I watch the battle continue.

"Tch. What the hell is this?!" Lancer says whats on my mind as he breaks away from her. "I've disarmed you over twenty times and STILL you have weapons in hand...who are you cheater?!" he sneers

For once I am siding with Lancer. I don't know what kind of trickery this is, but Lancer is here using his own weapon and Archer is fending him off with just short-swords. She hasn't even brought out her bow yet. On top of all that, no matter how many times Lancer tries...he cant disarm her. I am starting to feel sorry for him.

"What's wrong Lancer?" she mocks him "Is that all you have? If you wont advance anymore, then I will." She charges at him with all her power and tries to slice down on him. Lancer raised his weapon to block the oncoming attack. The weapons collide and Lancer is pushed back as he loses his balance. "Good bye Lancer" she says as she is about to deliver the killing blow.

"I'm disappointed..." Lancer speaks up despite the situation. "Is this really all you got?" he glares at her.

The sound of metal striking metal echoes once more as Archer is pushed back.

"Keh"

More sounds appear as it almost seems like Archer's weapons are being hit by something invisible. Her instincts tell her to back away from her opponent.

"It seems I misjudged you."

Another attack hits Archer's weapons and pushes her back even further.

"No way" my mind figures it out "Lancer is moving his weapon so fast that even Archer is having trouble seeing it."

Lancer continues the invisible attacks a few more times. Each time getting more and more agitated with Archer.

"I thought you were some kind of great power...but it seems you really aren't anything big."

"You on the other hand are very easy to figure out." Archer retorts "there is only one person I know of that can use that level of magic perfectly with a spear. Isn't that right...Erio Mondial."

"So, you figured out who I am...congratulations." he claps sarcastically

"I had a hunch, but that technique earlier confirmed it."

"Well then" Erio glares at us "I guess I have to kill you both now. I was only sent here to spy on others, but I guess it cant be helped if you know all my abilities." his killing aura appears

Archer notices this and kicks the ground to create even more distance between them.

"Allow me to introduce my next technique then to you..." Very slowly, he raises his lance and points it towards archer. Interestingly enough hes taking the same exact stance as before. Archer and I both know, however...that even though the stance may be the same...the setup is completely different. "Prepare yourself Archer..." he crouches and tenses his body "or else you will die!"

Erio continues his incredible assault with more fury than before. His intention isn't to disarm her this time, its to completely kill her.

"Archer!" I call out as if my voice would give her some kind of help.

She does her best to dodge and parry the endless rain of assaults. Her armor is already slashed and torn in several places from near misses. Any counter attack she tries to put up are easily pushed back.

"I have to do something!" my mind screams "I have to do something or Archer will--" I bite my lip "But what can I do?! if I use my magic when they are so close to each other I'll end up killing them both!"

"Gah!!" her voice shakes me out of my thought.

"Archer!"

Erio managed to land a significant blow from the side sending her flying several meters before hitting the ground.

"This is it for you..." he looks down at her "I will at least do you the honor of finishing you off with my greatest blow."

Archer stands to her feet. There is only 5 meters between us and her back is against the railing. Erio is about 20 meters away, but that is nothing in the face of his speed. He raises his weapon once again and sends magical energy into the lance. It begins to spark as if it were emanating lightning bolts itself. The power became stronger and stronger to the point where even I could feel the shock from my location.

"You have to escape Vivio" Archer tells me while looking at Erio

"But!"

"If it is a charge I will try to take him over the edge with me. I want you to use this time to escape. Understand me?"

"Archer..."

"Said your farewells?" Erio walks closer to us, lance at the ready. "Good...because its time for you to die." he begins to charge at us

Archer pushes off the railing and heads to meet him head on. She jumps into the air to avoid the lance pointed at the ground.

"Gae..." Erio calls out as they are about to meet. "Bolg!!!!" the lance that was supposed to be going to the ground instead flies upward towards her chest.

"...!" Archer knows she cant dodge it so she did the only thing she could do. She used her twin weapons as a shield in order to stop or deflect the weapon. Her body rose into the air from the blow of the lance and was thrown towards the railing. The pain must have been unbearable for her as she cant even catch herself from falling backwards

"Archer!!!!" I scream out as I run up to her while her body slid from the railing. Knowing this was crazy I did the only thing I could do. I jumped after her.

"So..." Erio Mondial, the Servant Lancer looks at the spot where Archer and I took off from "Master and Servant will share the same fate. Its unfortunate, but it cant be helped. Good bye...Archer."

Now that the prologue is done I can go on my OWN path mwahahahaa!!! *kof*kof*

Would Vivio really be taller than Ein? I went over Ch. 7 of Vivid and when Vivio was in a stance while Ein was standing upright, Ein actually seemed taller so I'm thinking if Vivio were to straighten also, they'd be about the same height.

As was said, Vivio is the tallest female characters, and I think tallest of all except for Zest when on the size chart? I know Ein comes after this fact, but I like teasing the girl about her height :3

Which is extremely funny, because when I look back on my ViCia series, for the first few stories Lutecia was taller than Vivio for a little while... then "Shadow" came along and Vivio hit a growth spurt, making her taller than Lutecia.

Adult Vivio is one of the tallest characters in the series, loli Vivio is about as tall as her friends. Ein is a few years older, so for now Ein is taller.
