What, your old rifle can't protect your house? Why did you buy it, then?

You know the Macross Plus BD box set had the English dubs for the OVA and subs for the movie, right?

Bandai Visual is learning... slowly, but they're learning.

Well, I hope they get to Frontier one day, because then I'll happily invest my money.

The funny thing is, the Japanese version of Gundam Unicorn had, I believe, 6 language subtitles including obscure languages like... French...

And its also published by Bandai Visual.

So I really don't understand why Frontier should be, you know... different, if they want to make a profit.

I am lost again. It seems to me that Tak is making a sound assessment of the situation. Why should he stop doing that?

Because he's assuming the people from Bandai Visual enjoy making money?
I often wonder about that, myself.

Exactly. I'm not sure they realize that there's an international audience willing to pay exorbitant prices for BDs.

Seriously, ONE person fansubs a vid, or ONE person puts a clip up on Youtube, and the Japanese companies start screaming about piracy, and shun the international market.

Thank goodness everyone here went out and BOUGHT all their Frontier stuff, so we're not part of the problem.

Well, I did buy the games and the BD for the second movie, does that count?

Oh, c'mon, Yot. Can you please stop it with trying to shame people here, which, if I need to remind you, is a torrent site? I can't help it if the Japanese companies are being stupid about their international distribution. This looks like more of a mental disorder on their part to me than being a problem of fansubs. After all, American (and European) companies have no problem translating/subtitling their stuff for local markets although piracy exists.

I already said that I would buy Macross Frontier DVD's if they were out there with subtitles. Also, isn't there the additional problem for Macross with Teh Debbil, erm, I mean Harmony Gold?

.... Maggy, I think Yot shares the same sentiment as you do. He just has a funny way of stating it.

Living in Japan for a prolonged period of time have this effect on people, see.

Hrrrrmm. Even if he does, it always gets on my nerves when he busts out the "Hey, I do buy stuff, why don't you, you ungrateful moochers?" (<-dramatization) Which he has done in the past a few times.

I don't have unlimited money, rather the contrary. Which means for me that I need to apply it where it gives the best yield, which is for me novels, roleplaying games and computer games. Macross Frontier would qualify, if it were translated. And no, saying "But you can infer what is going on with your psychic powers" is not a valid argument. I simply don't speak the language, I have no desire to invest the time to learn it at this time and I'll only pay for things which I can actually fully understand.
