Free hardly exist when someone makes a game that has alot of art behind it.

No Hentai... Hmm... Only thing i think of is Shuffle for the PS2.

Not free, but ero-less and available in english, in the US would be hourglass of summer. I've seen it in stores for about $30

You'd be hard pressed to find any for free, but there is one good site that has a few fan translated works.

Most of those are doijin works so don't expect anything "Key-like". However, they are in their own respects great works by both their creators and the translators/programmers who bring it to the fans.

Personally, I recommend "A Winter's Tale" ^^

Some softhouses link demo/trial versions of their games on their website, so you might want to check those out.

Here's a sample:
Higurashi no Naku Koroni trial version (note to mods: this link is on the creators' website, so it isn't illegal)
You can play the entire first chapter of the game "Higurashi no Naku Koroni," whose upcoming anime in April is highly being anticipated in Japan. To assure you, this game is NOT ero. It's a mystery/suspense doujin game made by 07th Expansion

Also, if you buy magazines such as Tech-Gian or Comptiq, they sometimes insert CD-ROMs/DVD-ROMs that is filled with trial versions of many upcoming games. That's another part where you might want to look.

Obviously, they are in Japanese.

I also recomment Narcissu. Although, if you are indeed the age that you posted, a story about suicidal teens jacking a car and going on a roadtrip isn't exactly recommended.

I own several non-ero dating sims. The only ones I'd call "Dating Sims" and not love adventure sims would be Tokimeki Memorial, Tokimeki Memorial 2, and to a lesser extent Sentimental Grafitti. If you're looking for bishoujo games I'd suggest Princess Maker 3 (Better then 2 or 4) in addition to the Tokimemo games. Interestingly enough Hourglass of Summer is the only love adventure sim I have in English but there's other games from Hirameki International you may be interested in.
