Shounen asspull? Definitely.

Was it awesome? Beyond a single doubt. The animation and the insert song was on point, I also like how the insert song served as an ending song instead of abruptly switching to the usual ending song.

It was an asspull fo sho, but what was amazing is that ufotable made it so that none of us even cared.

Yeah, say what you will about the writing and script but you can't deny that was one hell of spectacle. If nothing else ufotable is making up for the showcomings in other areas.

Finally Nezuko appears tho frankly with how close to death Tanjiro was some many times and I don't know why any better than before. But meh.

Overall this was a better arc than mansion one despite it's rocky start and Zenitsu's antics eating way too much time. I'm happy we at least got see what Tanjiro and Nezuko's father looked like too.

Wasn't Butterfly-Girl part of the same "graduating class" as Tanjiro and the others? Or did I misread something? When she shows up on the scene, she acts like - and is treated like - she's more experienced.

But holy shit, we author win with Ufotable picking their work, imagine Bleach with this animation makes me sad.

Its been a while since a action anime let alone a Shounen left me on the edge of my seat. Asspull? You bet but your right it was one if the best scenes I've seen in a while, the music and animation were just spot on

I don't think it is asspull, he actually memorize it the dance of the fire god because he see his father perform it many time, now he know how to use breath style, the only thing he need is the movement of the dance and change slightly how to breath to change it from breath of water to the dance of the fire god. I think it is only an asspull is when he doesn't know how to do breath style and suddenly using the dance of the fire god, or there is no flashback about him seeing the dance

i mean, they had shinobu say earlier in the ep that when one is about to die, their life flashes before their eyes to try to find a way to save themselves. Tanjiro was clearly about to die, so he went through this. like sure, they never brought it up before, but at least they gave a reason why he remembered it.

Tanjirou got his power up yet still failed to defeat his opponent. I guess that counts as a subversion.

He was saved by Tomioka as well, who is way too hax. He handled one of the top demons like he was nothing.

Shinobu is pretty crazy. I thought she would get along with Nezuko since the latter hasn't killed any humans but after what happened she's more likely to try to kill her. Why is she keeping how her poison is made a secret? It would be super useful for other people given how effective it is.

Usually, in these types of settings, knowing what is inside the poison is also the start to creating an antidote. The more secret it is, the less likely that someone will create an antidote to counteract it.

Rui is powerful but he's still only a lower moon, as his eye-tatoo indicates. Also Rui is only lower moon 5, meaning there's still 10 moons more powerful than he is. The real challenge will come later. It's comparable to Bleach's ordinary Arrancar vs the Espada.
