Well, Yoshida's biggest problem is his drastic lack of self-esteem. He has it hard with understanding that there might be people to whom he is important. Once we get through that, he might become different (according to spoilers, he will).
No matter how much he speaks about it, Yoshida has no expectations of his life at the moment (translated). Expectations are needed for a fulfilled life, and since he lacks expectations, and only has assumptions (spot the difference), which are pretty bad (I'll die alone in a few years at most, and everybody will leave me), he'll need lots of experience, to have something on which he can base expectations on.

Well, the current him(translation) don't have self-esteem due his mother's nasty word... but current him (raw) have great self-respect, confidence and seems become very selfish and become very jealous man... also quite possessive..
