I’m a Gundam fan (and a mecha fan in general). So I’m more than use to watching series within 30-50+ episode range (split, one-go, you name it). But the pace of Itsuwari still feel sluggish to me. To add insult to injury, they spent a considerable time for tired BL-joke in almost every episode since our MCs arrived at Yamato.

Well, considering there is only half year between end of this anime series and the next game release, perhaps we can say it's a split 4 cour? No news about the 3rd series for the time being though.

Feeling slow is another matter. There are a lot things being cut out that make more feeling of progress and hinting other layers of the story while the main plot builds up.

The plot is already there but you wouldn't notice the point of it now because it was supposed to be under the cover of something else that carries the story. And there is a major plot in this episode which builds upon some other previous plots, and is under the cover of comedies and agent job. And there is a major spoiler in this episode's dialogues.

While there are execution problems and some parts taking too much or too little time, there's no filler episodes as every episode is passing through checkpoints. There are just too much to build up that they cannot afford any filler. Just consider how different Haku is from where he started.
