Well, in addition to the fact that most people think Elon Musk is a creepy douche, he's constitutionally barred from being president. And given that it's functionally impossible to amend the constitution without extensive bipartisan support and Democrats would never change the constitution to benefit Elon fucking Musk, the absurd idea is moot to begin with.

First, I would think than the Republican would be more likely to want to block him even with all the Dem'S current posturing. And as Elon Musk having a bad public image, lets remember than in 2016 the final choice was betweem Hillary and Trump; media coverage can work around such issue.

Musk is actually very popular but you wouldn't know it based on certain politicians making absurd claims like that he does not pay taxes.

But that aside he needs to stay out of politics that do not involve spaceflight, it is hard to understate how much impact SpaceX has had or significant Starship will be.
