I took a look at the series they released on amazon and they aren't anywhere near as detailed as I'd like.

Not just about Europeans and their voyages, like my school textbooks were (Asia? What Asia?), but completely epic in scope, mentioning everything of significance, all the continents, countries, and notable people.

In short: like history textbooks, but better.
I think it would be better for you to look at a host of books. "Survey" books won't be able to cover every age in maximum detail.

Since you're lacking Asia, I recommend Rhoads Murphey's A History of Asia.

Seriously, reading biographies alone will take up plenty of your time. Robert Payne's Life and Death series is one such series. Personally, I've skimmed through his books on Lenin and Hitler, and I'm not so sure that you can handle it.

Yep. If you wanna learn about the history of the world in detail, you're gonna need a lot of books and a lot of time. Understanding requires depth and context, short cuts are dangerous -- as one of my buds wisely put it.

If you use the latest Beta MSN Messenger your default browser will be used for mail and other MSN related stuff . Unlike the previous versions of MSN IE wont be forced on you,

Though I hate MICROSOFT . This build is graphically and functionally far superior to the previous version, its a whole new experience .MSN BETA has to be the best looking IM I have personally seen period. TEASER <CLIK>

You should take a look at the "Down Them All" addon for Firefox. If you go to a web page, DTA will list all the links on the page and let you select the ones you want to download. Then it will retrieve all the selected objects with one click. You can choose by file types as well, so you can have it select all the images with one command.

Silly question:
Does "Yen" have any other meaning in Japanese, both in history or modern society (other than the name of the currency)?

I have a silly question as well, why don't people use Wiki, Google or an online dictionary before posting a question here

Dictionary.com
yen (2)
"sharp desire, hunger," 1906, earlier yin "intense craving for opium" (1876), from Chinese (Cantonese) yan "craving," or from a Beijing dialect word for "smoke." Reinforced in Eng. by influence of yearn.
Wiki, Yen

Easy to answer, because it is a silly quest.
People like to interact with others and here they can do is in an uncommon way

Yeah, i actually read through the wikipedia before posting, but it does not stop me from asking
Not satisfying unless some local speaking one answer it, of course. Afterall new words and new meaning popped up with time(especially in this modern age). Then we have Japanese with one pronounciation and several ways to write it

However it's a "silly question" afterall, i am not going to die if i don't know the answer

It stems from "a circle (円)". So en is associated with anything circular: 円弧 (en-ko / arc), 円錐 (en-sui / cone), 円盤 (en-ban / disc) etc. Symbolically it signifies perfection without a flaw. 円熟 (en-juku / well-experienced), 円滑 (en-katsu / smooth) and so on.

In addition, 円 often makes pun with other words pronounced as en. For example, 縁 (en / destiny). Japanese people sometimes make offering of 5 yen coin (五円玉 go-en-dama) at a shrine, for 五円 and ご縁 (good destiny) have the same sound.

The earth's rotation relative to the moons rotation maybe? or a crude representation of a electron.

Two objects orbiting around the core: "Helium inside" or "made in Mars".

I have 2 separate and unrelated question:

1) Why is it that whenever I eat right before I sleep, I would always get hungry? Does the digestive system go like full force at rest?

2) How come anime use err... Japanese that is considered impolite?
