Well, even without these 2 categories taking 1st & 2nd place, Azusa wouldn't be near the top 5 anyways. I have nothing against her, but the reason she didn't do well on the ranking is, because she is generic, portrayed as the older sister and a klutz. Lastly, she lacks character depth, she to ongoing with no back-story.

Yayoi hasn't done anything negatively to stain her image and she has plenty of screen time to establish a connection to the viewers. The reasons why I like her, is her cute antic's and how she is shown as the big responsible sister.

Now Makoto is my favorite. I really wanted her to take 1st place, but I'll settle for 2nd. Watch out Yayoi! Makoto taking 1st next time! Now, back to Makoto character. Who doesn't love a flat chested tomboy, who is constantly trying to be more feminine? Plus, she is the only gal, that can couple-up with any of the other idols (yuri), to maintain their purity or else, papermario13689 will shyt himself

Putting aside your 'opinions' of other series, your argument is rather weak. Yayoi did not win by a noticeable margin from the other girls, she just got lucky with a handful of votes- visually it's no different from Makoto's or Miki's, and if Loli-ness really was the dominating factor, it doesn't explain why on the oposite end of the ranking we have Ami and Mami, or the fact that the next few girls after Yayoi were not lolis.

Now to reverse the argument, if it was really 'mature' girls that you're supporting you wouldn't have a problem with Makoto being up there, but you've expressed your distaste of loli and flatchested characters and that tells me that what you're really supporting are girls with noticeable physical assets.

Now tell me, how is that any less shallow than people that support loli for the sake of loli like you've claimed?

lol. ok, so i had a lot of people against me. XDD ok,to be clear, i wasn't implying that azusa should be at the top. makoto and miki being there is so fine,dnt worry, i like those two. but my prob is,why should a loli be more prefered than the mature ones. my example of taiga,yui,and kanade being much preferred,i don't see any wrong in there. the fact that they look 5-year-old-ish talks much to their popularity.

Don't worry, everyone is entitle to their opinions, but sometime people do make really stupid ones. Why did the people, who voted for Yayoi, instead of the other idols?
It's their personal preferences, each individual has their own crazy reasons.

Mines was stated bit earlier, but I would like to add that her reason to become an idol, wasn't a selfish one either.

Those 3 names you produced, are you referring Yui from K-ON? and no idea about the other 2...

Well be that as it may be, when you come out swinging strong accusations like favorism due to loliness rather than personality, or what you think is the 'logical choice', it does raises one's eyebrows especially if you didn't present the facts well.

i'm actually used to throwing trollish comments but when it comes to serious discussions like this, my brain tends to get blank and i couldn't present my arguement well.

if i'm into this serious topic again, i'll present them well next time. but before that, i stand to my statement that loli-ness comes first before personality for most of these people. i'm not generalizing,just many of 'em. and, yeah,my preference might be shallow too.

It's more like the roles they play than the actual person, I base it on their personality and which one would fit that role better.

The girlfriend is someone you have fun with.

The wife is someone you want to come home to.
