To Aru Kagaku no Railgun official site added more information regarding the Limited Edition of 1st Railgun S Volume.
There is also cover for the SSS novel that comes with the Blu-Ray / DVD. (Toaru Majutsu no Index SS: Necessarius Special Admission Test)

Do you know when it's coming out? I'm really looking forward to reading that Amakusa story (or a part of it at least).

The number of reservations for this season first disc isn't the same as the first season first disc had.

Isn't bad because the number still is good for sales I'm they will be above 7000 per disc.

It just started selling today in Japan (24th July).

Btw Railgun Season 1 sold about 7k extra thanks to the Railgun S, which is amazing feast.
And I heard that on Amazon Railgun S had something about 21k preorders.

The first season of Railgun sold about 23k average over 8 volumes.

By Rule of Sequels there should be a slight decrease in sales; nothing damaging, maybe just slightly above 20k.

i honestly don't get why is it selling less seeing how it was a much bigger improvement then the past Raildex adaption(sign i always knew 1st season of railgun was great but honestly i felt that this adaption dominated the past adaptions of the Raildex series).

I will just hope for the most sales it can get. I mean they've done a damn good job so would like the sales to give them props for that.

Yes they tend to decrease, but it also depends on adaptation.
Btw, if they lured some fans from Index fanbase and the Railgun ones would still buy it, it might increase.

PS: the novel that's comming with the DVDs is being discussed here

^Yeah, such an awful idea. Well, for me, the very basis Railgun S is weird, so this little something couldn't shock me as it should have.

We got the sales for Railgun S volume 1 for the first week:
16,720 *1 To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S [DVD+BD]: 2013/07/24

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S Vol. 1 (Limited First Pressing)
(BD Total Copies)=14,646
(DVD Total Copies)=2,074
(Total)=16,720

When you compare it to previous Seasons:
Code:
First Week
Anime: (DVD + BD) = Total
Railgun 1: (6,523 + 13,814) = 20,337
Index 1: (5,244 + 6,994) = 12,238
Index 2: (4,749 + 12,721) = 17,470
In first week Railgun sold 20,337, so we have a drop of 3,617 sales.

Code:
Total (2 weeks)
Anime: (DVD + BD) = Total
Railgun 1: (7,910 + 18,976) = 26,886
Index 1: (7,905 + 7,976) = 15,881
Index 2: (5,242 + 13,549) = 18,791
It's selling definitely less and even with the second week, it's not going to rise above +-20k.
But still, really decent sales for anime.

Thanks for the detailed info! I was really curios about the sales.
Looks like more mainly Railgun fans decided not to buy than mainly Index fans decided to buy. We could also say there were more of those who turned away than those who started to like the series in light of the drastic changes from S1.
I expected a bigger drop though.
