I recomend Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirit), should be coming out soon on DVD. It's a really good series with a strong character and yet very humble person. ^^

If you like Tenjou tenge, get Ikkitousen they are very alike.
Also give getbackers a try , it's an excellent fighting/comedy series
