I wanna see Hotaru being played by Mamiko Noto. I wanted her for either Pluto or Saturn. She can be a lovely and twisted Hotaru, I am sure of it.
Unfortunately it was a false alarm - they were talking about the Black Moon Arc... As of yet no more than the official 26 episodes are planned for Crystal.

I am so conflicted with this episode. I loved some parts - Venus finally has more of a personality in this episode, it was quite funny when she landed of top of them, being apologizing and all, later on she was soo entusiastick in the battle against Esmeraude, but the whole episode was a huge info dump, it was a complete slide-show. It happened before in Crystal, actually most of the time, but this time it was a long 10 minutes without any movements, just King Endymion talking over a slide show of backgrounds. Тhe characters didn't move at all for half an episode, and still there were a lot of wonky shots... But the final minutes of the episode was pretty good, Esmeraude and Rubeus moment was so funny. Really conflicted with that one episode... However I don't like the idea of a white-haired Neo Queen Serenity. It could have been ok for me if Princess Serenity wasn't blond and all, but Usagi was blonde for all her forms until now... Just strange to use this hair color all of a sudden... At least they made Diana's eyes reddish.

With respect to Sailor Pluto,
Spoiler for Sailor Pluto depiction:
The first half of the episode felt really slow for me, but the second half moved a lot faster. I was actually surprised that it was ending, figuring there were a few more minutes left. I agree with minaku that Sailor Venus was portrayed better this episode. Also agree about the white hair deal.

About Neo-Queen Serenity's hair colour: the anime is following closely to the manga; so in the manga, Neo-Queen Serenity's hair colour is silver/white. Only the old anime version changed that to blond. So this shouldn't be odd if you read the source material. What is odd was the original decision made by the mangaka Naoko Takeuchi when she drew it this way. Personally, I would have preferred Usagi being silver-haired as well, instead of the typical blond (and it will make her different from Minako's blond as well).
I think when Usagi took the thrown, she transformed to someone closer to her previous life - who also had silver hair.

Serenity was shown as blonde. Now NQS is silver haired. Similarly, Diana had blue eyes one episode, now they're red. Pretty sure the same happened to Artemis. There's no consistency or plot related reason for this. More like no one seems to know what they're doing. And let's not forget that time Queen Serenity stole and wore her daughter's dress. I wonder if everyone in the art department is really drunk most of the time

So all this talk about Usagi/Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity/Neo-Queen Serenity's hair color jogged my memory of visit BSSM sites years ago, and I remembered one in particular with scans of color illustrations of the manga as well as translated notes from Takeuchi about character design.
Here's the link to the first artbook (only contains spoilers of the first arc). “This was a color picture for use as the cover of the first issue of Nakayoshi with the serial. At first, I planned to have Sailor Moon’s hair be yellow before transforming, and silver after transforming. But I was told by the editor in charge of the front cover, Silver is plain for use on the cover. Yellow is definitely more flashy, and it will stand out. Since then I feel my way of thinking about my color pictures has completely changed.” “This picture was to put into form my image of Sailor Moon at the beginning. I love looking at night views and I love drawing. I really wanted to put lots of night views in Sailor Moon. By the way, the night view in this color picture is New York for some reason. As usual, Sailor Moon-chan’s hair is silver.” From the second one (which I wont directly link since it might be too spoilerish): "Around the time I drew this picture I used to like scattering white rose petals in the comics. Princess Serenity has silver hair. I really like the colors purple, turquoise, and white." And, well, there were always occasional pictures of Usagi or one of her alter-egos with white hair in later stuff as well. Anime adaptions are usually much more consistent, but maybe they're really committed to being authentic to Takeuchi's art style. |

Well, in the character designs book, Takeuchi underlines the fact that Queen Serenity should have the body of an 18-year-old. Twice (which is why I used bold as well). She was just showing it off that even after giving birth, she still had eternal beauty and youth.

Whah! Haha...what in the world were the animators thinking (or not thinking)? Actually, I think they reused a cell of Princess Serenity's outline or something because she looks a lot more like the Princess than just simply the outfit.
Also, I can't help but find TM's attack phrase to be funny and ridiculous ...La Smoking Bomber...heh
