I don't know what you were expecting, but the actual animation is much closer to the LN char design than what I saw in the first PV.

I never said the illustrations/designs were disappointing. What I mean by animation is the character's movements are. At first it was, but after watching it the 2nd and 3rd time, I thought it was good enough.

Well the first time don't always looks good...at least for me.

Well the first episode is up RAW and they made it very interesting the pacing for this could be far more interesting then originally thought

When Kamito and Est held hands and Est turns into sword form reminds me so much of my favorite anime back then: Elemental Gelade.

Also it stays true to what author sensei wants: LEGS! LOTS OF EMPHASIS ON THE LEGS!!!

First episode is close to the original with some changes to the scenery. I think it adapted up to early part of chapter 4.

Est's sword form still looks dumb. It looks like one of those stereotypical holy swords, but I suppose that's to be expected of the studio that did DxD.

that's exactly where it is I must admit its a little faster then I would've liked but they done it decently. I'm very curious how they play out the next episode because if they do it right the battle between Ellis's group and Claire's little team should be underway and nearly finished up until the monster comes in.

Keep in mind Est is an extremely powerful Holy sword plus tbh we never really saw Est's sword form in the LN accept for when he dual weilds and i'm glad it doesn't look like that

Est's sword is good. Better looking than in the light novel. TNK loves to show dem legs and bit of pantsu as well. Hoping they'll do a job good to stick as close as the LN like they did in Highschool DxD.

Animation and art are as good as Highscool Dxd. Hearing Restia's voice made me think of Rias. Both girls are HOT.

Overall, a good first episode. Looking for more.

Well, i'm quite satisfied with the first episode. The art style, in my opinion, is quite good and faithful to the novel. Nice cameo with Restia in the end.

Thats cuz Restia is done by the voice actress of Rias

i thought it turned out pretty well dosent seem to be moving to fast and the quality is good everything is pretty up to far as following the light novel so i have no complaints so far just hope it keeps going at this pace

Well after watching the anime adaptation's first episode ... I guess it's not going to be as bad as I thought, since they seem to be planning a more or less accurate adaptation of the LN events.

I guess the only issue I have is ... Claire's voice, which ... at least in the first few minutes of the episode sounded too high pitched to me, before it got slightly better, bit still not something that I could associate with Claire's character from the LN.

I wanted to try this, but I heard the main girl is very violent and people compare this to ZnT and Dragonar...

Does it stay that way? Depending on the circumstances I may give this /its anime a try or not.

On BT it was translated as Solomon, based on the pronunciation it seems to be Suleiman?
When I first heard this I thought it was Slimeman.

Does someone have the Japanese characters for the actual name at hand?
