This week's episode was one of the best so far. Loved it!
Choi is seriously adorable. Dera's radical change of attitude after she came in was amusing. Yes, she may be cute but she is also very strict with birds, especially those that let themselves get fat. Dera tricked her into believing he was ensnared by Tamako -which led to some comedic and fanservicey moments (first time I saw a naked butt in a Kyoani show)- but Choi eventually realized Tamako and the people of the shopping district were too kind-hearted to ever do something like that. Choi is apparently in love with the Prince. I'm rooting for her to win. I was afraid she'd leave at the end of the episode but she decided to stick around until Dera's communication system is repaired. Looking forward to more cuteness~ The final scene was intriguing. I hope it doesn't mean what I think it means.

Ahem. Choi is quite adorable. The fact that she's the first person capable of putting Dera properly in his place only adds to her appeal, in my opinion. She is, of course, in love with the prince (surely we all saw that coming) but as his fortune-teller she can probably never be chosen as his bride. That last fragmentary scene is, of course, supposed to make us suspect that Tamako is just what she and Dera are looking for for the prince's bride, although I rather hope it's a red herring. We don't need another person lost in the black hole of Tama's obliviousness. On the plus side, Choi will be sticking around until Dera's working properly again, which could be quite some time. It will probably require him to lose all that weight he gained. This is going to be amusing. Make him work it off! Especially after he lied about it!

Tamako Market 07 - Love Beam!
If only anime hadn't had two episodes about fortunetelling airing within a week of each other. Choi's a great character, both in design and personality (love those fiery types), but her fortunes, even if done through Dela, do make me wonder how much of them is simply coincidence. Yozora showed herself to be a master of the Barnum effect, but since Dela can also shoot video out his eyes like Florsheim's P-chan, I'll take it as legit in the context of this series. It's not like Choi's asking anybody to pose on a rooftop while yelling "Sexy Beam!". This doesn't stop her from getting a mild bit of fanservice herself - she looks to be about Tama's age. The interaction between her, the townspeople and Dela was all pulled off really well. Looks like the show will end full circle, likely on another New Years' party, though if this one involves Tama being married to Choi/the Prince/Midori/Shiori, who knows? Romance has never been a particularly strong element of this series in the first place. Continuing to enjoy it. |

The only thing I didn't understand about this episode was who is Sayuri-chan thinking of marrying? Does everyone already know so noone had to ask her? Or is that a cultural thing that's not done in Japan?
Choi-chan's fortune telling appears to have resulted in depressing her as she realized she was in the same position as Tomio in that, like his love for Sayuri-chan, her love for the prince "will wither before it bears fruit." |

Reiko Yoshida Tatsuya Ishihara&Taichi Ishidate Hiroko Utsumi Kazumi Ikeda without any listing of what they were doing. Different magazines have different orders of listing Directors/Storyboards and each other episode had the same person for both. I originally thought that two people storyboarding an episode made more sense than directing, and that was in agreeance with the first magazine I checked, so I originally had them backwards. I edited the post a couple days later when I got to see the actual listing. Sorry for the confusion which spread around.

Ep.7
Agh! Choi is so adorable and man this episode so far has the most fanservice in it. Alot has been revealed with her appearance. Her fortune telling is quite quick...too quick or she's that good. Spoiler for Surpirse:
Nice setup for Tamako x Ooji Spoiler for Ep.7:
9/10 a excellent episode.
