(L) Arslan Senki New Season (Season 2) Anticipation

Arslan Senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is getting a new TV Season (Season 2?) scheduled for next year.

Plot Summary:

In the prosperous kingdom of Pars lies the Royal Capital of Ecbatana, a city of splendor and wonder, ruled by the undefeated and fearsome King Andragoras. Arslan is the young and curious prince of Pars who, despite his best efforts, doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a proper king like his father.
At the age of 14, Arslan goes to his first battle and loses everything as the blood-soaked mist of war gives way to scorching flames, bringing him to face the demise of his once glorious kingdom. However, it is Arslan's destiny to be a ruler, and despite the trials that face him, he must now embark on a journey to reclaim his fallen kingdom.

Hurray!!! We can finally see that battle to retake Ecbatana!!! And more Daryun & Silvermask awesomeness!!! And Gieve’s side-trip, Elam & Alfreed’s antics, Estelle being her clueless self, and Farangis’ boobs *ahem* badassery and her cold rejection to more of Gieve’s advances (if the story goes far enough).

Will this be the same team though. I do hope we get larger budget this time. The staff of the first season did their best with what they had at the time. So, give them more money this time, please. I wouldn't mind if they go with better scriptwriter & director too.

yeah agreed, hopefully the cgi (I am assuming they would use it again) would be more fleshed out cause lot of the time it felt it was out of place. And animation in the second did slip quite a bit so yeah a bigger budget leading to a great large scale battle would be kick ass.

Sort of a weird announcement considering that there was apparently some big deviations from the in the source in the last two episodes of season 1, but hey I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth!

I was writing earlier when the last few episodes came out. Yes, there were deviations, but it was really just so they could make the final battle of the season more epic than it would have been in the original material. The writers did a good job actually pulling in all those deviations in the end, so that really the status quo of the series by the final episode is pretty much back on track with what was happening in the original material.

Yeah, after following this gig for 15+ years, its about time they properly present the series with a two season production. Took them long enough.

Though the first season made Arslan something akin to a Mary Sue, I cannot say I remembered him being that nice.

Its been a deviation since the first half dozen episodes. One such deviation was apparently made for the sole purpose of creating the tension between Arslan and Ester.

From the looks of it, this entire production might just steer off track from the original, which, if done right, could be a good thing.

The anime altered their initial meeting significantly. I don't know if the anime will eventually end up as an alternate history to the novel series, but I'd warn against diving in too much.
