How did it take this long to find out Pikari has a little sister? It sounds like the kind of thing she'd bring up randomly during an everyday talk. Anyway, it was a pretty good episode, once again showing Teko's journey no overcoming her flaws, and showing it can sometimes get bumpy despite all preparations going smoothly. And then a magical creature showed up. That was... unexpected, to say the least.

I have to admit, the outfits in the show are absolutely adorable. "Give me your stuff or I'll play a trick on you!"

The anime is really amping up the yuri, as usual. The dream scene was anime original. A pretty nice one.

They made a small change that I didn't like. In the manga, the guy Teko was stalking did not have that fake beard, which is why it was so hard for Teko to ask him for his REAL beard hair. The anime kind of made her look like an idiot for believing that obviously fake beard was real. No biggie, but I don't really see the point of this change.

They're starting the Peter arc next week, but I'm a bit worried about one thing. I'm not sure it will have the same impact it had in the manga. I won't say anything else in case the anime staff manages to fix the problem I have in mind.

Guys, I'm really sorry for asking this, but does Amano-sensei is a homophobic..? Someone from Reddit just accused her that..

Is there a source for that? She does tend to have female heavy casts, but at least in ARIA there were plenty of straight relationships (Al) and friendships (Akatsuki) and strong male figures (the mailman). Although it is true that in Amanchu the males are played for laughs more.

Redditors sometimes make stuff up for their own egos; pay them no mind. My bet is that Kozue Amano is simply more familiar with girls than guys, whcih is why her male characters don't have the same depth as her female characters.

People are accusing her of that because she spends an enormous amount of time building up the pseudo-romantic relationship between her female characters only to just toss in a male character who one of the girls will be much more interested in without significant justification, as if saying "no no, my girls are normal, see? They like men like everyone else. You've all just been imagining things in these scenes where they're declaring their love for each other, holding hands, staring lovingly into each others eyes and been mere centimeters away from kissing."

...Or so the explanation goes among most of those who are upset.

Despite the number of girls in seemingly close/romantic-like relationships with each other in her series, they have always left each other and ended up in a heterosexual relationship. Sometimes with someone who has never even appeared in the series. The accusation is that, despite apparently enjoying writing girls in relationships that are super-close and which often border on being romantic in nature, she doesn't like the idea of girls actually being in romantic relationships with each other, so she ends up throwing a random undeveloped male into the story and has one of the girls fall for him to prevent that from happening.

That's why I didn't understand with that accusation.. I mean, at least we got one of the best series of all time.. (refraining myself to rant about Sunshine S2, which is one example of too pandering to the fanbase)

I read the manga so I know what it is. Can't really discuss it without spoiling. I don't think that's why the thread was locked though.
