Hi all, just want to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy new year. I've been a bit tied up with rental bills, electricity contracts, a new phoneline, a new internet contract and things to do for xmas eve and the new year's, but I'm hoping the fanfic posting doesn't stop for more than a week - not here on Animesuki, nor on Ff.net. Cheers! My storytelling absence will be at most only a couple of days.

Chapter 15: Against The Odds

Miria and Flora had taken T.J. to a building on the otherside of the city. He was wondering what it was going to be like, but they assured him that everything would be alright. They took him to the basement and there was a black Lamborghini Gallardo.

"This will be your car." Miria said giving him the keys.

"Another Lamborghini." T.J. thought. "Hey wait there is no one else here?"

"Thats right." Flora said. "This place is secret and not even the cops know of it."

"But I thought you two work for them?"

"We do." Miria said. "But that doesn't mean we can hide from them if we like."

Flora took a cover off of another car, it was a red Ferrari Enzo. Miria went over to another car that had a cover on it and pulled it off only to reveal a green Lotus Elise.

Flora looked over at T.J. "Lets go for a drive."

Galatea was in her briefing room and everyone else was with her. Her plan was ready to go in action but first there was someone they would have to get rid of first.

"Alright everybody." Galatea said holding up a picture. "This is Rigardo, we have to kill him."

At the table everyone looked at eachother. Raphaela had joined the group and so had Clarice and Dietrich who where going to stay back in this mission and only help a little.

Nobody said anything so Galatea spoke again. "He is capturing humans and taking them to be experimented on, if we kill him then it will be one more setback for Easley."

"And how do you think that we can beat Rigardo!" Helen yelled rudely from across the room.

Galatea to rolled her eyes at Helen's ignorance. "I don't know Helen why don't we make it up as we go along?"

Helen stepped back and looked down realizing that she had just made her leader angry.

"Now." Galatea said as everyone else kept silent. "We have to trap him, he is fast and his awakened form his deadly. We must be careful and at the sametime a step ahead of each move we make. We can't get in eachothers way, all our years of training are going to be tested so lets do this!"

"Galatea."

Everyone turned around to see Cynthia in her battle gear.

"I'm going to be joining you again. I have a question though, its still daytime are we going to run around looking like this?"

Galatea smirked. "No, we are going to drive."

Soon all of the girls were driving down the streets fallowing Galatea in her Jaguar.

T.J. sped down the highway in his new and free Gallardo, Flora was ahead of him in her Enzo, along with Miria in her Elise. They had walky - talkies in their cars just like the time T.J. was with Raki and the others. Also they had some sort of new radar system that showed all the streets and the people that they would have to chase down.

"So who are we supposed to bust?" T.J. asked.

Flora came on the radio. "There is this underground street racing gang and they have committed a lot of crimes. We are going to stop as many people driving as we can today."

Miria came on next. "We have been after these guys for half a year now. Their is many of them."

"Okay so how does this radar thing work?"

"Its easy and very technical, basically it locates the people on the roads that we are after."

Galatea and the girls parked their cars in a buiding parkinglot. They jumped out and went up on the roof while jumping across the buildings downtown.

"I can sence him." Tabitha whispered. "He's so strong."

Galatea looked around. "Be ready he's around here somewhere."

Then the roof they were on exploded and Rigardo jumped out at them in his awakened form. Everyone jumped back except Yuma who was captured by the silver eyed lion king. Clare jumped up from behind him and chopped off his right arm which held Yuma.

"You little bitch!" Rigardo yelled backhanding Clare and sending her flying.

Jean caught Clare and moved away from Rigardo as he charged them, only he was blocked by Raphaela who had cut into his left arm. Rigardo hissed and jumped to another building.

"They are stronger than their yoki says they are." Rigardo thought.

He was then flanked by Tabitha and Helen. Deneve came up the middle, he was able to hit Helen and Tabitha but Deneve stabbed him in the chest. Only then she was slashed by his claws. As she fell Galatea ran up and jumped over them, she came down trying to stab Rigardo at the top of his head. He dodged it and next thing he knew was that Jean had her drillsword in his left side.

Rigardo fell off the building they were on and landed on the street below, his body crushed a few innocent people and then people were running and screaming in fear of what was going on. As he started to get up he had another sword in his chest, it was Cynthia's she had jumped down after him. Purple blood poured all over the street as Rigardo tried to evade them.

"Damn this is not going the way I thought at all!"

Then Clare was infront of him, and next thing everyone knew was that Clare had cut Rigardo into pieces with her windcutter. Rigardo never knew what hit him.

Galatea's eyes widened at Clare's hidden power. Then she looked at the crowd gathering. "Alright everyone we have done our job lets go!"

Standing back in the crowd Irene hid her yoki and she was wearing normal everyday clothes. She watched as Galatea and the others escaped.

"Thats was very good." Irene thought. "You really are Teresa's daughter aren't you Clare?"

As that was going on T.J. lauched himself down on a highway in the Gallardo, he had seen a star on his radar system and it was a criminal that he had to bust. He came up on a blue Jetta, and rammed it with his Gallardo. The Jetta had lost control and spun off the road while now flipping over and landing upside down.

"He's not getting up from that." T.J. thought before coming on the radio. "I got one of them. I'm going on to find the next guy."

"Okay." Flora said coming on the radio first.

T.J. came off the highway and saw two more on his radar system both of them traveling together. "I wonder how much I'm getting paid for this?"

He came up to an intersection and saw a new Ford Mustang and a Pagani Zonda going through the lights. Without thinking T.J. jumped on the gas pedal and rammed the Mustang from the side making it roll over several times as the Zonda took off like a rocketship.

"Got another!" He said on the radio as he went after the Zonda. "Hmmm I wonder if I can take that Zonda while I'm at it..."

T.J. sped up fast and caught up to the Zonda as they were doing 220 kms/h. He was planning the samething as he did when he took those other three cars. T.J. sideswiped the Zonda and watched as he and the driver held their ground.

"I have to try and keep his car from being destroyed." T.J. thought sideswiping him again.

The driver in the dark grey Zonda was cursing as loud as he could. Then T.J. had finally done it, he slowed down a bit and then t - boned the Zonda making it lose control. The car ended up going backend first into a ditch where it was then pointing up in the sky where the driver would then have to make a break for it and run. T.J. watched as a man wearing a helmet jumped out of the car and started to run. T.J. stopped his car and jumped out using his yoki to push him in the air and catch the man. He had been learning how to use his yoki and control it. He focused it into his right hand and punched the helmet so hard that it broke into pieces and then the mans head underneath was crushed by all the power.

T.J. left him in the tall grass and went back to his car grabbing his phone, he called for another flatbed to pick up the Zonda and take it back to his garage. After that he jumped back in the Gallardo and got back on the radio. "I got the other one."

Miria came on the radio next. "Yeah I just busted another guy."

Next Flora was on thr radio. "It seems there was one person left that we did not catch. Never the less we did good today. Lets head back home."

"Hey you two, is it okay if I keep the Gallardo at my shop? I want to put it next to the Diablo."

Raphaela's house.

Raphaela after living in Galatea's place for more then three weeks had finally been aloud to go home, only thing was she had to take Clarice and Dietrich with her. Finally now that Raphaela was home she could have some time to mourn over Raki's death. Only some time though as soon Clarice and Dietrich were asking where they could sleep.

"Raphaela looked at them, she obviously didn't care at the moment. "I don't know just open up the couchbed in the livingroom and sleep together on that."

Dietrich scrathed her head. "Sleep..."

Clarice started to get nervous. "Together...."

Raphaela looked at them with stupidity written all over her face. "Girls do you think I want you two to have sex or something?! Geeze come on its the only place in my house to sleep at the moment besides my bed and I am not letting anyone sleep in it but me!"

"Yes ma'am!" Clarice yelled saluting Raphaela but then she realized how much of an idiot she made herself look.

After Clarice and Dietrich had opened up the couchbed and sat on it. It was really comforatable to their surprise, but then they realized that they had no clothes to change into as they have been wearing the same clothes for a really long time now which by Dietrich's standards was very disgusting.

"Well I guess we can sleep with no clothes on."

Dietrich gave Clarice a strange look. "What?!"

"Well yeah I have heard its really comforatable to sleep with nothing on under the blankets." Then Clarice realized why Dietrich kept on giving her a strange look. "Oh no Dietrich I'm not a lesbian! I'm not coming onto you right now!" Clarice yelped holding her hands up.

Dietrich shook her head. "Well I guess it wouldn't be so bad. Just don't touch me! First thing tomorrow we're going shopping!"

"Hurray!" Clarice yelled punching her fists in the air.

It was only minutes later when they had nothing on and were under the blankets with the lights finally out. Clarice was already out, Dietrich looked over to her and noticed that she was cuddled up to her pillow.

"It is pretty comforatable." Dietrich thought as she felt the blankets fold over each curv of her body as she lay on her back.

She had sat up and let down her hair as she had forgotten to. Just then Raphaela walked into the room. Dietrich quickly covered herself back up.

Raphaela tried not to laugh as she saw both of them. "I cameback here to tell the both of you that we will not be going back to Galatea, tell Clarice when she gets up." Raphaela whispered as she walked back to her room.

Back at T.J.'s.

Sid had been trying to leave with Galk but Priscilla had stopped him and had been holding him back all day.

"Please Sid I want to have that car. It was my brothers..."

"What but I worked so hard on it."

"Its not yours though. Its my brothers and I want it. Please Sid give it to me..."

Sid smacked his face. "Dammit! Alright I'll give it to you, but you have to go out with me."

"Only if you teach me how to race." .

Sid smiled at Priscilla. "Its a deal!"

Galatea was back at her house and only Clare was with her. "Clare I never knew about this power of yours."

"I have tried to keep it a secret for a longtime now. It was actually Miria that helped me figure it out so long ago back when we were with the organization."

Galatea was about to say something but Clare spoke again.

"Galatea when we were fighting Rigardo today I felt a presence of someone I know but I couldn't tell who it was."

"You did? I didn't feel anything. Mabye your just tired, go home and get some rest. Besides Jean is probably getting tired of waiting for you."

T.J. had finally made it home, and his stolen Zonda was waiting for him in the driveway. He quickly put it in his shop with the Gallardo just before Miria and Flora cameback. The three of them made their way up the front steps and T.J. checked his mailbox. There was a letter in it.

"Looks like the mailman was late today." He said as he looked at it. "Looks like I just got invited to another race."

Miria and Flora looked at him and both replied at the same time. "Can we come to?"

"Sure I think it will be okay."

hell: thank you for the advice. I've decided for this because it's easier for me, I can focuse more on each part of the final chapter. And it migth be easier for you guys too, instead of having four chapters to read, you only have one.

Rigardo was beaten too easily, I think. The guy never got chance to attack, even tough he had the surprise element on his side.

The desciption of the races and cars colliding is as good as ever.
Also, I always find your Clarice to be hilarious.

Chapter 16: Racing For Pinks

West side of the city.

There were twenty cars sitting on the streets ay midnight, T.J. stood by his 1998 Camaro Z28. Next to him Flora came with her Nissan 240SX, Miria was next to her with her Mazda RX7. T.J. looked at the other cars, he didn't see anything real special except a 2006 blue GTO, a dark blue 1994 Mustang GT, and a red Ford GT 500. Those were the only cars he saw that he liked all the other ones were suped up little piece of junk Honda's.

"Hey T.J." Flora said snapping him out of his little trance. "I think we are supposed to gather up over where those people are."

T.J. looked and saw a small crowd of the drivers gathering around some man. Everyone looked at him waiting to see what the race was going to be and where they were going to go.

"Hello everyone I am Mr. Haultz, but you can just call me Dave."

"What kind of name is that?" T.J. thought.

"Tonight everyone, I have brought you all here because I think you are some of the best racers around. Tonight you are racing for pinks all of you at the sametime."

Everyone looked at each other and muttered.

"No its not like what you think. The winner gets to choose which cars he wants, he can choose as many as he wants. Hell he can take all of them if he wants."

Smiles started to show on some of the drivers faces.

"So where are we racing?" A girl with short blonde hair asked.

Everyone turned around and who else but Clare was standing behind everyone with Tabitha.

"Its her." Flora thought looking at Miria.

"Well, you are all racing to the east side of the city. Behind he pizza place there will be a young man standing there. That will be the finish line, don't try anything stupid because he is well armed. Oh and the race starts in three, two, one, go!"

Next people were running to they're cars, leave it to the Ford GT 500 to take off that car had to be the strongest one out of all of them that were there. T.J. stomped on his gas pedal and his Camaro took off, along with that Mustang and GTO that he saw. Flora was surprised that most of the cities best driver were driving Honda's but she had remembered that she and Miria had put most of the street racers in the city behind bars.

Miria was speeding down the road wondering why she had got herself into this. Next thing she knew was that she was beside a certain Evo 10, Tabitha was racing it and she looked over. Her eyes had caught on to Miria and she looked like she was going to have a heart attack.

"Miria its you!"

"Not good." Miria thought pushing down hard on the gas pedal.

Flora was fallowing Clare's old Corvette. Making sure Clare wouldn't notice her would be the smartest idea but Tabitha had already seen Miria and after this race she could bet that Galatea would soon be searching for both of them.

"I think I'll add that Mustang to my collection." T.J. thought passing the Mustang in his Camaro.

A crowd of cars went down the same roads, which was unexpected, drivers would usually break up instead of staying together. This would surely make someone call the cops. Ahead of the field of cars the GT 500 moved farther into the lead.

"I'm getting greedy, I want that one to." T.J. said to himself hitting his NOS.

The Camaro passed the GTO and next he saw the GT 500 slowing down for a tight turn. T.J. drove his Camaro hard into the turn, the back slid out and he got back on the gas slowy to make the rear wheels grip the ground. He felt the GT 500 get on his rearend once they got on a straitaway but all that did was give the Camaro some momentum to get up to speed.

Farther back in the pack of cars Miria was trying to shake Tabitha who was now obsessed with catching Miria. As that was going on Clare noticed Flora was following her, Clare she seemed shocked at first but then felt happy. Clare slowed down and smiled at Flora before she slowed down even more to get back to Tabitha, that was when she saw Miria.

Clare rolled down her window and yelled at Tabitha. "Hey lets get out of here!"

"But Clare!"

"Come on!"

Miria watched as the Corvette and the Evo 10 took a sharp left and now they were out of the race. Miria was worried, she had signalled to Flora and they both took a turn leading them in the opposite direction.

T.J. was starting to get angry, he was racing a powerful race car and the driver was very good. They had both passed eachother, going back and forth it was fun but there was something to lose and T.J. was not giving up his Camaro. Just then he felt it, his yoki had activated itself and it was different from the first time. He could somehow see the moves that the other driver was going to make to try to take him out of the race.

"Thats not going to work." T.J. said slamming on the brakes.

The other car had tried to push him off the road, T.J. quickly jumped back on the gas pedal as the other car almost went off the road. Next thing he knew was that the GTO was now back in the race for the lead with him and the Mustang.

"I forgot about them."

As they made their way just past halfway across the city they started to hear sirens. Farther back in the pack cars were being chased down by the police and were being taken out of the race. Soon it was only the four cars in the lead still in the race.

"Got to end this soon."

Half an hour later of the four cars battling for postion on the empty night streets, they had finally made it to the east end and T.J. could see the pizza place which he had been told about. The other three drivers had seen the finish to, but T.J. was in a problem, he was now behind all three cars. He looked to the right and saw a bridge that had gone up so a large boat could go by in the lake below.

He turned right and watched as the other three cars were taking a longer rout. "This is risky." T.J. yelled as he hit his NOS again once he made it to the bridge. His car flew over it and time felt like it had stood still for the very few seconds that he was in the air. Then he made it over while still in the gas he landed on the road just infront of the other three cars.

"YAHOO!"

The other drivers were shocked, as they watched him leaving them in his dust. Now the pizza place was just down the street for T.J. who had now a good lead infront of the others. His engine roared as he made it to the finish, he slammed the brake pedal down to the floor locking up all four wheels while almost running into the guy at the finish line. Behind him the GT 500, Mustang, and the GTO had made it across the line.

The three drivers were pissed off, and once they tried to get back in their cars the man waiting held a gun up at them.

"Hey! Get back here with your keys or you won't be leaving alive!"

T.J. looked at them. "I want your cars lets go!"

All three of them gave him an angry look as they threw they're keys over and started walking home.

"Hey how am I going to get these cars back to my place? By the way who are you?"

"Well my name is Tyrath, and you are taking your cars back in this truck."

T.J. looked at a semi-truck that had a driver in it already waiting for him. "Thats a wierd name." T.J. thought.

All three cars were loaded up in it and the trucker fallowed T.J. back to his place. Of course T.J. had to pay the driver once he got back which he thought was very cheap. Anyway he quickly got his new cars off the truck and in his shop with the others.

"This place is getting crowded."

Raphaela's house.

Clarice and Dietrich cameback home, they had shopped until they had dropped. Only thing was Raphaela was not to happy about all of they're new stuff all over the place.

"Girls!"

Dietrich and Clarice turned around.

"Hi Raphaela we got something for you!" Clarice yelled.

Raphaela did not say anything as Clarice and Dietrich gave her a bag. Raphaela looked in the bag to see what it was.

"Why the hell did you get me this?!"

Clarice started to laugh. "Well we heard you talking in your sleep about that guy that died and we figured you would need a way to relax and loosen up a little."

"So you got me a dildo?!"

"I knew this would be a bad idea...." Dietrich muttered.

"Yeah! Have fun enjoy, we even got you pink lingerie! Go and try it on lets see how it looks!"

Raphaela was now giving them both strange looks.

Dietrich pointed to Clarice. "It was all her plan."

Clarice stopped with her hands in the air and her eyes widened. "Oh no I don't like girls! Only guys! I don't have a crush on you or anything Raphaela oh no! There is no girl on girl action here!"

Raphaela shook her head. "Well thanks I guess I'll go and try all this out."

Clarice's jaw dropped and Dietrich started to laugh. "Come on Clarice I think Raphaela wants some private time."

Clarice and Dietrich walked outside, they had not been in this part of town before.

"Now if I'm correct we are in the south side of the city." Dietrich said. "Well I guess its good for us because of how the organization isn't in this part of the city. They don't care about this part. Hey Clarice.... Clarice? Now where did she go?"

Dietrich looked at the other side of the street and saw Clarice fallowing some guys. "Stupid girl...." Dietrich mumbled walking across the street blocking any traffic to get Clarice back.

She was to late though as the guys had turned around and seen her. "Hey look at this!"

"I may have made a mistake by doing this." Clarice thought as one of them grabbed her left arm.

"Lets take her in this dark allyway."

Then the guy that had grabbed Clarice's arm had a fist in his face and next thing he knew he was on the ground looking up at Dietrich.

"What the hell?! If you wanted to join in you could of just asked!"

Dietrich glared at them and then walked up to a car next to the road. The three guys looked at her but most of the time they're eyes were on her slender legs. But soon they were looking at the car as Dietrich had lifted it off the ground with just her right arm.

"If you guys don't leave I'll beat you with this!" Dietrich screamed as viens popped out of her skin and her silver eyes turned into that amber glow.

"She's a monster!"

"Run!"

Dietrich looked at Clarice. "What the hell?!" She yelled dropping the car.

"I'm sorry."

"You better be! Clarice your to close to a human to be going around looking for guys like that, you don't have the power to save yourself!"

Clarice didn't say anything but soon she felt Dietrichs arm around her and felt herself being pulled in a different direction.

The two of them decided to remember what it was like in the south side of the city, so they walked around looking at everything. Soon they had made they're way to a certain garage. That Priscilla was near underneath a tree keeping out of the sun and staying in the cool shade.

"Hey Dietrich doesn't she look familiar?"

Dietrich looked to where Clarice was looking. "Oh yeah she goes to the same school we did. Lets go say hi."

Priscilla looked at the two of them as they walked over. "Do I know you two?"

"Why am I getting a bad feeling about this?" Dietrich thought.

Just then they saw Miria walking out of T.J.'s house. Then Miria was right there, she had used her speed and had taken the two of them to the ground in a hurry.

Next Flora had come out and had helped Miria hold them down.

"Your hurting me!" Clarice screamed.

"What did we do!" Dietrich yelled wincing in pain as Miria helled her arms behind her.

Just then Miria and Flora were kicked in the heads and sen't flying back.

Clarice looked at who had saved them. "Wow that was quick Raphaela!"

Raphaela glared at Clarice. "Yes I am in a good mood right now but you two are about to make me angry from all the trouble you are causing."

Flora blinked. "Raphaela?!"

Miria twitched. "It can't be..."

Then T.J. had walked out of the shop. "Whats all the noise?! Oh hey Raphaela!"

"What you know her?!" Flora questioned.

"Yeah I know her, come on in."

Raphaela looked at T.J.'s growing car collection. "Where did you get all these?"

"Same way we used to all thise other times remember."

Raphaela smiled. "I wouldn't mind getting back into that business."

Rigardo died pretty fast. The so-called big fight took up less than a section. Oh well

Is T.J supposed to be invulnerable on the road? For quite a few races now he seems unbeatable. And beyond what was mentioned in the story, is there any other specific reason as to why Flora & Miria seem to be running from Galatea?

When I mean long, I mean much longer than the first few I wrote a while back. It's rhyme & rhythm are meant to be simple. Think of it as one of the few epics that I'll churn out over the next few months.

Dedicated to all the Raki fans out there. Who will hopefully be delighted to receive such a belated Christmas present

Down where forests comb the valley floors –
realm of rushing wind, rain, woods;
where passing clouds sweep hills without pause –
a cleansing shade over the plains of Toulouse;

where mountain slopes fall face-first
into streams flowing umbilical to the south
into the lands where a deathly curse
stalks the open moor, waits at the river-mouth.

The beacon of towns unspared from this plague –
cast their troubled lights from afar.
Townspeople count their dead by graves,
scarred in the wake of the stake of a yoma,

who, monster of the foulest regions of the deep,
fashions itself in the likeness of man.
Its visage of humanity burns, like a leech,

Till in the eclipse of one murderous noon,
should a warrior stride into such a town.
His face coaxed into a shrouded, quiet gloom,
his presence echoing, unannounced.

the child-like companion who accuses his foes
and his sweaty backbone – his broadsword.

Together they confer in righteous agreement:
a monster lingers the crowd.
And following that a swift process – engagement –
the howl of a yoma, blood on the ground,

melee between beast and stranger
ensues among marveling men in this public space.
And the monster gets cleaved asunder;
justice comes forth from the stroke of his blade.

But when stranger chooses to claim the kill –
behold the saviour with a lad’s face –
another actor intervenes by fate’s will,
and the warrior in the square is met by another at the gate.

Slayer and slain, warrior and Claymore –
spectacle adorned in the silent afternoon drawl.
She knows the dried-up youki she is looking for,
while the young man remains flushed from his assault.

Silver-eyed demons! Onlookers mumble and cheer,
swayed in the sing-song of the stereotype.
Another fight? Even as the female warrior nears,
the young man refuses to strike.

“I am just another human.” Honesty answers
on his behalf – and spectators sigh with awe.
Then the female warrior reels and blunders:
the child’s presence seismic, scours

her conscience like a blunt, blatant threat.
“What is that thing? – And who are you?”

Down where forests comb the valley floors –
realm of rushing wind, rain, woods;
where passing clouds sweep hills without pause –
a cleansing shade over the plains of Toulouse;

where mountain slopes fall face-first
into streams flowing umbilical to the south
into the lands where a deathly curse
stalks the open moor, waits at the river-mouth.

The beacon of towns unspared from this plague –
cast their troubled lights from afar.
Townspeople count their dead by graves,
scarred in the wake of the stake of a yoma,

who, monster of the foulest regions of the deep,
fashions itself in the likeness of man.
Its visage of humanity burns, like a leech,
drawing a current of blood from all the land.

Till in the eclipse of one murderous noon,
should a warrior stride into such a town.
His face coaxed into a shrouded, quiet gloom,
his presence echoing, unannounced.

But stranger still the company he keeps close,
like the muscled cloak he pulls taut:
the child-like companion who accuses his foes
and his sweaty backbone – his broadsword.

Together they confer in righteous agreement:
a monster lingers the crowd.
And following that a swift process – engagement –
the howl of a yoma, blood on the ground,

melee between beast and stranger
ensues among marveling men in this public space.
And the monster gets cleaved asunder;
justice comes forth from the stroke of his blade.

But when stranger chooses to claim the kill –
behold the saviour with a lad’s face –
another actor intervenes by fate’s will,
and the warrior in the square is met by another at the gate.

Slayer and slain, warrior and Claymore –
spectacle adorned in the silent afternoon drawl.
She knows the dried-up youki she is looking for,
while the young man remains flushed from his assault.

Silver-eyed demons! Onlookers mumble and cheer,
swayed in the sing-song of the stereotype.
Another fight? Even as the female warrior nears,
the young man refuses to strike.

“I am just another human.” Honesty answers
on his behalf – and spectators sigh with awe.
Then the female warrior reels and blunders:
the child’s presence seismic, scours

her conscience like a blunt, blatant threat.
“What is that thing? – And who are you?”
is all the female warrior can say. Instead,

I didn't continue it due to laziness and lack of inspiration. I got Shelter's poem as inspiration, and my New Year's resolution is to be less lazy.

It simply wasn’t her fault.

It wasn’t her fault that her family was eaten by a Yoma.
She didn’t chose that; if she could chose, she would be living a normal life with humans; not there!

What right did they have to judge her?
What right did those men in black have to take her away, to a strange place, a dark fortress?
What right did they have to mix her flesh with the one of a demon, a Yoma?

Did they ponder that she would be in terrible pain all day and night? That she wouldn’t have anyone to hug her, to cuddle her, to give her courage?
Or did they know and simply didn’t care?
They were cruel.
And yet, they were right, Yoma were unforgivable.

Luckily, she was strong. If she wasn’t she would have died.
That was the law of the Organization, you are strong, you live; you are weak, you die.
It was a though law but it was all to protect humans from those unforgivable Yoma.
Wasn’t it?
Then why was she dying?

She always fought for the humans. She was the good one.
It wasn’t her fault.
It was Teresa’s fault; yes; it was all her fault.
She was the bad one; she was the one that killed humans.
She was unforgivable.
And she would punish the traitor.

But Teresa was stronger.
Why!? Why!? Why!?

She was the one good one; she was fighting for the humans.
Teresa was the evil one, she killed humans. She didn’t had the right to do that.
It was all Teresa’s fault, not hers.

She simply ate some guts.
There wasn’t anything wrong with that, right?
She wasn’t a Yoma

Raki knew that it wasn’t her fault. He knew.
Where was he?
Dead? She had killed him?
She couldn’t kill him. It wasn’t her fault.

It wasn’t her fault that her parents died.
It wasn’t her fault that she turned into a monster.
It wasn’t her fault that Noel and Sophia died.
IT SIMPLY WASN’T HER FAULT!!!!!!!!

So if it wasn’t her fault, why was that woman, named Clare, holding up a sword and ready to kill her?

Speaking of which Yosei, I went & read up till Chapter 29 (The Tigress) & these are my thoughts:

Spoiler for Review for Chps 27-29:

Both Chps. 28 & 29 are quite an achievement. They highlight your ability to write in, pardon me, downright fluffy fiction (Flora & Zhao Yun) or with a hint of irony (Cynthia & Zhou Tai), and also with a very electric kind of sexual tension (Cao Cao & Galatea).

There are some especially good parts. The break between Cao Cao & Galatea over the Dark Ones has been something I've been waiting for - an actual disagreement which honestly pits each character's values against each other, & not some petty bedside argument Also, I think in Cao Cao's brief conversation with the Dark Ones, you've elaborated & brought out Alicia & Beth's character more accurately than any other fic I've seen so far.

That said, do be careful when writing because you seem to be unconsciously lapsing into modern dialogue. I believe the medieval-type dances Flora & Zhao Yun perform don't really involve spins, which are the more updated, Victorian version. And when Galatea said Alicia & Beth should be in a "ward", I had a brief flashback to Supreme Distraction's ultra-modern Enter New York City fic on FF.net, which also has Beth in it.

Also, I think that - back to the issue of whose ego is being served in the Cao Cao/ Galatea relationship - that your most potent pairing doesn't do justice to Galatea. She is too forgiving, to the extent that she doesn't even hold fast to her threats. I would've thought that there & then, Galatea would've done much more than slap Cao Cao - to me it is the things that are unsaid that are much more contributing to the dynamic relationship between characters. Galatea seems her a bit too brash, too submissive - like little child. Plus the fact that their argument concluded with yet another sex scene throws cold water on what could've been a more well developed episode of emotional tension. Cao Cao could've been demonized a bit more & Galatea could've been more pensive.

Also thanks all for your comments on the Raki poem. Glad that the die-hard Raki fans (NobodyMan & clarakiss~) enjoyed it.

*facepalms himself* I cannot forgive myself if I don't do at least 90% justice to Galatea's personality.

The dance scene was actually not completely my idea, although that's no excuse for slipping up in some of the terminology. At least it gives me some impression of an almost ironic, surreal feeling when reading of a Claymore and Dynasty Warriors character dancing. XD Thanks for the review and I'll try to improve of the addressed points.

Finally. Here it is the final chapter of Secrets in the Past.
I think Dietrich-fans are going to kill me with this one. And she alredy has some hardcore ones.

Chapter 13:
Dark times are approaching

Rimuto was tired, very tired.

He walked in the dark corridors of the Organization’s headquarters.
Heading for his room, the leader of the Organization pondered about what he had found out on that day.
Darkhenus was still alive.

Good.

Yes, it was very good. After all, they needed him.
They needed his flesh to create the ultimate warrior.
One that could surpass Teresa and Alicia and turn the tide of the war on the Mainland.

When Rubel arrived at his room, he opened the door with a key he had and entered.
The room was poorly decorated considering that he was the leader of the most powerful Organization in the world. It had a bed, a desk and a closet. Nothing more.
Rimuto passed his bed and laid his back on the chair of his desk.
Laying on the desk, there was a very old book who had a dark cape, there was no title at all.
The leader of the Organization opened it and started reading it.

For anyone who is reading these lines, I want to say that my name is Frost and I’m the leader of the Organization who creates half-human, half-Yoma warriors.
I’m writing this because I’m afraid that I’m reaching my lasts days on this earth.
My son, Rimuto, has been possessed by a lust for money and power and he will kill me soon, of that I’m sure.
When we first arrived at this Continent, the Organization only created a small number of Yoma, the ones that were extremely necessary. But now, there are Yoma everywhere, our warriors can’t handle them all and the humans are running out of money to pay us.
This was all due my son’s suggestions and I was fooled by his words.
I know why he did all of this, he wants to create the ultimate warrior, a warrior that is strong enough to make our side win the war that is being fought in the Mainland and for that, he needs Darkhenus’s flesh and blood.
When I tried to rise against him, he repelled me and he now controls almost everything in the Organization.
My death is approaching and this Continent will be to one to suffer from my sins.
As a way to diminish them, I will write in this book the whole truth, the reason why there is a war and the real identity of the enemies of the Humanity before every reliable information is destroyed.
I will start from the beginning, when I arrived at this Continent, I noticed that the people have their own religions in here, some worship the God of Rabona while other worship the twin-sisters Clare and Teresa.
I will have to say that this amazed me; even tough their interpretation was inaccurate, those people got one thing right.
There is indeed a supreme God that we, in the Mainland, call Creator.
The Creator created everything that exists.
He first created our Mainland, then this Continent. And after this was done, He created animals, plants and finally, human beings.
Although the creation in overall was perfect, there was one single fail.
The humans.
They had not only Light on their hearts, but also Darkness.
And it was that Darkness that made them fight and kill each other; seeing this the Creator decided that it was necessary someone stronger than the humans to guide them on the right direction and so, the Creator picked the most brave and strong warrior and the most beautiful and smart woman and gave them power, turning them into Dragons. Those were to become the first and the strongest Dragon-Kin of all time, especially the male.
The woman was called Rysxta and the man, Thelmus.

Dietrich stared at her fingers. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10…
Yes, she still had them. She never noticed how beautiful her fingers were, she never noticed how wonderful was to have a human body.

“I was able to come back.”

Dietrich could barely feel it now, that overwhelming pleasure that had grassed through her body and she could remember the dark abyss that she saw opening in front of her.
But now that was something from the past.
The young Claymore looked around and saw her, Amanda, the one that had gave her those pill, if it wasn’t for her, Dietrich would be a monster by now.

“Thank you very mu…” Dietrich started saying but the look on Amanda’s face silenced her. She was covering her mouth with her hand and her eyes showed the shock that she was feeling in her soul.

“What? What happened’” said Dietrich who was starting to get nervous.

“Oh, my…Dietrich I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that the pills could do that. I suppose nobody could know…” Amanda said, her voice being muffled by her hands.

Dietrich touched her face, nervously, trying to feel any irregularity but there was nothing, nothing except that the skin of the left side seemed different; it was like touching scales.
Terrorized, Dietrich ran to the window of a house and saw her reflection on the glass.

“No! No!”

The right side of her face was still immaculate but the left side…the left side was much different; her once beautiful face was now scarred.
Her skin had been replaced with a green, reptilian one and her silver eye was now permanently golden. She lowered her Yoki but it was useless; there was nothing that could turn her back to normal.
That was the price of being forcedly brought back by the pills; she had maintained her humanity but she lost half of her face and with it, half of her mind and half of her soul.

Dietrich covered the mark with her hands; Amada looked at her, apparently she was crying, desiring nothing more at that moment but console her, the number 7 approached her inferior and touched her shoulder.

And that was a mistake because Dietrich exploded in action when she twisted her arm and elbowed Amanda in the face. “DON’T TOUCH ME, FILTHY HUMAN!”
The strength of the girl was amazing and Amanda was sent flying against the wall of a habitation, broking it in a ruin of stones and cement.

“Oh no! Amanda!” shouted Dietrich when she realized what she had just done. She ran to her friend’s side and only then she noticed the gore where Amanda’s right hand used to be. “Did… did I do this?”

Amanda passed her hand by her lips and noticed that there was blood on its back.
How did that girl gained such strength? She was weaker when they arrived at the North and now, one single elbow was enough to spill blood. Was that a side-effect of the Awakening? Such an abrupt raise in strength, surely there would be a price to pay for it.

“She would be a great asset for the Organization and that’s why I have to protect her.”

“Don’t worry, I’m defensive.” Amanda said while getting up “But…your face…”

Dietrich interrupted her. “I’m so sorry for hitting you, I didn’t want to. It was like…” she said, looking meditatively at her hands “It was like something inside had come to the surface, something primal…animalistic…”

“Don’t worry about that. It was not you; it was that thing.” Amanda replied, waving her hands and pointing to the scarred side of Dietrich’s face. “We have to get out of here before more Awakened Beings decide to appear.

Dietrich nodded and followed Amanda. However, soon she realized that they were not going to the East.

“Amanda, where are you going? The East is that way.” she said, pointing in the right direction.

Amanda turned around to look at Dietrich “Yeah, I know. We are not going to the East, I think it’s better if we go to the West.” she answered, surprising her partner.

“What? No, we have to report to the Organization!”

Amanda sighed in frustration and looked at Dietrich like if she was looking to an innocent child “We can’t go back to the Organization now. They would kill you because of that and believe me; I didn’t lose one hand to bring you back from Awakening so that you could be slain right after.”

Dietrich looked strangely at her “The Organization wouldn’t do that.”
Amanda suppressed a laugh “You’re serious? You still have much to learn, then. We are dispensable for them.”

“But…”

“Look it’s my fault that you got in this situation; if I was had been faster, I could have saved you. I promise you, I will find a way to rid you of that and then, we can go back to the Organization. Now it’s the best chance, the number 1 and 2 are too important to leave Sutafu; the number 3 is dead; the number 4 deserted; the number 5 also died and the number 6 is missing in action. They don’t have anyone to send after us, it’s now or never.”

Dietrich was staring at her friend with a thankful expression her face. Amanda was willing to risk everything for her. She pondered their possibilities and understood that the older Claymore was right. She would probably be considered as just one more Awakened Being if they saw her like that and surely the Organization was weak at that moment. It was now or never.

“Why the West? she asked.

“We can’t stay in the North and the East is to close to the Organization.” Amanda replied “In Toulouse there is Rabona and they don’t want us there, so that leaves us with the West and the South. The West belongs to Riful and the South to Isley, so this is a lose-lose situation. I think it’s better if we chose the lesser evil and that is Riful of the West.”

Dietrich smiled; with that determination how could they fail? “Then, lead the way.”

Amanda nodded and turned her back to Dietrich, continuing to walk.

“Thank you for this Amanda.” she heard Dietrich saying behind her back. She smiled.

“Girl, you are going to be my death.”

And the pair headed to the West with smiles and hope on their faces.
However, Amanda couldn’t possibly know but she was absolutely right.

It wasn’t possible.
It simply couldn’t be possible.

“How can that be true?” Irene thought after she heard Darkhenus’s history. The man was still sitting on his throne but they were not alone anymore. Thelmus, Vampira, Inez, Nadia and Ermita had entered in the chamber. Vampira couldn’t take her eyes off Irene but the woman didn’t notice. What Darkhenus had just told her was unthinkable, unimaginable and yet, it made sense. He was telling the true and his vision; the vision he had for that Continent was…overwhelming.

“I know that it’s hard to believe but its all true.” he said, guessing her thoughts “Every single word of it.”

Irene raised her eyes from the ground and stared at him “I believe in your story; during my whole like I saw pretty amazing things so it’s not hard for me to believe. No, what truly amazes me is the vision for this world that you spoke of. That vision will only lead to blood and Darkness.”

Thelmus stared angrily at her but Irene ignored him. “At the beginning maybe.” said Darkhenus, looking down at her. “But it’s the only way to improve this Continent. Tell me, Irene after hearing my story, don’t you think that I am too a creature of Darkness?”

“Indeed you are.” she answered “But I could be also considered one seeing as I am half-Yoma. We don’t choose how we are born; we can only choose how to live our lives.”

Darkhenus smiled, a smile that could almost be sincere “That’s true. I didn’t choose to be born the way I did. But now that I am here, I will create a world perfect for me to live in. And those who help will have their reward. Are you going to serve me, Flashcutter Irene?”

“First there is another thing, you also mentioned a dream. What is that dream?”

“That dream is still very far away, there is no need to talk about it now. I ask you again, will you walk with me towards the path that leads to the future?”

Irene looked down, meditatively; she knew that every eye on that room was staring at her now, waiting for her answer, a answer that could change not only her destiny, but the destiny of the Continent itself.

“Do I have a choice?” she asked.

“Not really.” Darkhenus answered “If you refuse, you will be taken to your prison again until you change your mind.”

Irene looked hard at him, so she didn’t ever have a choice from the beginning “Then, I think that all this talk was useless. I will serve you.”

“Wonderful. You will be counted amongst my five Generals…” Darkhenus started saying before he was interrupted by Irene.

“However, I must warn you; as soon as the opportunity present’s itself, I will cut you head off.”

Irene was expecting to get slapped because of such audacity. After all, she was serving him now; but Darkhenus’s smile never disappeared and she could hear Thelmus laughing behind her.

“Is that so?” Darkhenus mocked “Then do it.”

“What?”

“Cut my head off. I won’t move a finger”

Irene looked suspiciously to Thelmus but he raised his hands signalling he wasn’t going to do anything. Darkhenus nodded and she unsheathed the claymore that Thelmus had given her. She moved her arm, ready to use the QuickSword.

And then Irene felt something entering her; penetrating every muscle and contaminating every drop of her blood.
She was forced down by an invisible force; the woman couldn’t even move one single muscle; her body was not hers, at that moment. With all of her strength she raised her head to look to Darkhenus; the man was smiling confidently.

“What…is…” she tried to say with a superhuman effort.

“I told you that my powers are extremely diminished at the moment but I still have three things; strength, speed and Yoki-manipulation.”

“Yoki-manipulation.” Irene realized “Son of a bitch!”

“As you can see; if my opponent is only one I can control his every movement.” he continued “So, how does it feel? Do you like it; being at my full control?”

Irene felt her own arms being raised by that same invisible force and she could see that her claymore was dangerously close to her throat.
Thelmus licked his lips.

“I could make you cut you throat; jump from the window, anything.”
“I could even pleasure you until your climax now, just by manipulating your Yoki.”

“Let…me…go…” Irene said, trembling, trying to impose her will on her body again.

“If you really want it…”

And then, everything was over; with a weird feeling like if something was removed from inside her; Irene could control her body again. She raised herself and for a moment, she looked at Darkhenus and thought about attacking him. However, she understood that it would be useless and she only sheathed her claymore, looking down in shame.

“I’m warning you Irene; if you ever betray me, I will show that you don’t need to die to go to Hell.”
Iren looked at him and even the powerful warrior was intimidated by look that Darkhenus had on his red eyes.

Indeed I do, my Lord.” said the strange man while getting near to the throne and bowing “The Organization already knows that you are alive.”

“As I wished.”

“But more importantly, the Organization found out that Riful of the West is planning on Awakening the remains of Raphaela and Luciela.” Ermita continued “They believe that from those remains, a creature with the power of an Abyssal One can be created.”

This seemed to caught Darkhenus attention; with his eyes closed, he pondered for a moment before looking at Thelmus “What about you Thelmus?”

“One of our spies has confirmed it; Miria is really in Rabona.” the Dragon-Kin said.
Darkhenus looked down and closed his eyes again, meditatively.

“So, Miria is in Rabona…Clare in the West…Helen and Deneve in the south…an attack in three fronts would be perfect…there is Riful and the remains…what about Alicia…the Organization would get a glimpse of my plans…it doesn’t matter…”

Suddenly, Darkhenus rose from his throne like a dark god; his eyes shining with an evil intelligence.
“Time has come to take actions. Thelmus, you will go to the South and capture Helen and Deneve; Nadia and Irene, you two will move West and capture Clare, Vampira and Inez take the army of Yoma and lay siege on Rabona. I don’t want a single human to survive, Miria is the only one who should survive.” Darkhenus waved his hand outward and clenched it “Capture Clare, Miria, Helen and Deneve! Kill whoever gets in you way.”

Irene looked to Thelmus and her heart skipped a beat. The man had the most ruthless smile on his face and was trembling out of joy. He couldn’t resist it.
Rabona besieged, Irene and Nadia would attack Clare and he had the way open to capture Helena and Deneve.
That was so wonderful

The war had been deflagrated and the Dragon would taste blood.

Darkhenus was now alone.
His servants left him to carry on his plans.
In no time he would have all those 4 girls he had prepared so many years ago. Then, he would just have to wait; wait until the deal is over. And after that, the Organization would know Hell.

Yes, everything was going like he had planned.

Suddenly, a dark shadow appeared behind him; the darkness that composed the shadow seemed to be burning in an infernal fire.
The shadow was assuming the form of a dark man; a man with shining red eyes.
Darkhenus didn’t even turn around. He knew exactly who that that horrible shadow was.

“Long time no see.” Darkhenus said “Father.”
