This was...quite interesting.

I kinda feel bad for Juri since she has to live with such a crappy family. The plot itself shows a lot of potential so far and it didn't take long for the first episode to get right down to it with the kidnapping and supernatural power.

To add on to the thriller, I like the momentum this episode from the buildup for the first half that lead to the plot execution of the second half. This is also Geno Studios' first TV anime project and while I can't say the animation production is groundbreaking, it does work well so far for this show.

The manga is also complete so I expect a full adaptation.

The opening is certainly different than standard but I like it! I’m actually impressed by quite a few openings this season.
Good first episode, with a lot of intrigue looking forward to the next one.

As good of an adaptation as one could have hoped. As long as they just stick to the material, I don't think there should be a problem. The 3d effects were quite nice.

I could've done without such a fanservice-y ED but I guess it's understandable that they don't want this show to be a complete waste of money that it's ultimately destined to be...

It's Umetsu so it can't be helped.

I was actually missing Umetsu lately so I kinda like the ending.

Finally something different, besides Ito Junji (Collection).
Not sure about the animation, but if the story is solid, I don't think it will matter that much.

I guess I'll keep watching this one, but I must say the story did all of the heavy lifting, making up for the uninspired direction and mediocre animation. It almost hurts to see that ED by original character designer Yasuomi Umetsu, which shows what the characters are supposed to look like.

Also, I wonder if the creators of the Sex Criminals comic book, which started four years after Kokkoku, were aware of this manga. It's like they just replaced that weird time-stopping artifact with time-stopping orgasms.

Probably the best premiere I've seen this season so far.

I'm a big sci-fi nerd, so this is already great so far in my book. I like this Stasis world and I'm already fascinated by the creatures. I'm loving the hook ending. I like the MC already. I feel really sorry for the fact that she tries so hard and yet can't seem to get out from under her family who is holding her down.

Though, seriously? What kind of job interview question is that? Family is not even a thing you would normally put on a resume, why should they care what her father and brother do for a living? What bearing does that have on her own abilities as a potential employee? I've never had any job require me to put down information about my family unless it was for an emergency contact or tax forms. And I've never had anyone even approach the subject in any interview I've done.
And the sad thing is, it seems to want to indicate that this is the main factor as to why she doesn't get the job. It's just so weird.

Some may say it's a Japanese thing, and perhaps it is, but it's not one that I've ever encountered. And I've not only interviewed for jobs in Japan, but I've also DONE interviews for potential Japanese employees and that's never been something that I was required to ask about.

Anyway...other than that weird part of the story, I really like what I see so far.

^Weird part of the story is... That the grandpa didn't exploit the stasis power to give them edge in life. Imagine the possibility. The males won't be bums if he did. Well, they might turn evil, but trade-off, right?

For now, this is the surprise of the season for me. It looks like it will be a cool supernatural mystery and not having highschool bois and grills as the protagonists is a breath of fresh air. The portrait of a dysfunctional family with Juri trying to improve her life was very interesting.
The stasis world have so much potential to be explored, including the creatures living in there. Let's hope the story does not lose steam as it progresses forward.
I heard the studio animating this is new and for their first work the animation is not that bad, honestly. I even liked the cgi matrix effect and all. Too bad the art is not the same as the ending..lol.

He mentioned...i think he is hiding a lot of things and knew why just used it now during this family crisis(and seems a trial run with juri when she was a child)

This seems like an interesting. Particularly in seeing the rules and limits within that time stop space. At least one fairly obvious limit appears to be violence against those who can't move. No issue it seems with people who can move beating each other up, but intending to kill someone that isn't in that world is clearly going to be met with consequences. Just wonder where else the limits are.

There's potential with this one.
