Okay, now we've gotten it working ^^;
This version will run properly and allow for chapter select with llakavesgi.txt. Just to clarify, llakavesgi.txt must have some text in it for this to work. It cannot be an empty text file. Sorry for the inconvenience.

All right, there's now a new Mac installer that incorporates these previous few fixes. This version should fix the problem with crashing when saving, and should unlock the scene selection menu when a non-empty text file called 'llakavesgi.txt' is placed in the game directory.
The old download links work, or click here if you want to make sure that your browser isn't caching anything. As usual, the installer will update existing installations without requiring you to re-insert your disc. This is version 5.0.3; you can check what version you have by selecting the game in the Finder and doing Get Info, or selecting "About Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru" from the application menu while the game is running. |

And for Linux users and others working on their own builds, here's a new release of ONScripter-EN that you can use: http://onscripter.denpa.mobi/?page_id=26

Odd... you should be able to press the 'm' key at most any time and have it toggle the sound on & off, including at the system menu, during effects and even when text is being displayed on-screen. Not sure why it's not working for you... are the other keypress commands working, like 's' (skip mode) and 'f' (fullscreen toggle)?
