You know I am a manga reader - ands yet those eyes still scare the shit out of me in the anime >>
No idea what it is, is it that they are animated or did they already scare me before without my knowledge?`xD Spoiler for Manga comparison, Sanada - Nejima:

^The problem is the way how they made the designs, in the manga the eyes are similar to what we can see in the anime but they actually show some emotion while here in the adaptation is the other way around. The characters shows literally no emotions, those eyes are incredibly big and dead, the only way to tell what are they thinking is just by their voices.
As for the comparison, completely agree with you but is not like anything is lost if the anime ends on being a half-assed adaptation with below average animation. |

Most curious about the way the underlying issue is deal with. As others have stated, it is difficult to accept -as the series seems to imply- that the new system solved the problem it identifies. In the wake of a population explosion it may even be natural that there will be a decline. |

Realistically the main-guy just needs to accept what the government has given him. He not only has his perfect life partner, but they're also incredibly attractive. He could have ended up with an ugly chick. At that point you should stop fighting the system that is clearly in your favor.
In comparison with the Manga, the anime just feels weird, similar to how others in this thread feel I guess. The doll-like eyes look fine in the manga, but in motion it feels off.

This episode seemed to imply either the MC or Ririna could call off the engagement if they wished to, is that really the case? Because I don't see the point of all the drama if they can just do that.
Ririna is really nice and cute. Totally different style from Takasaki though. Short black hair with big boobs versus long blond hair with a flat chest. I choose the former.

Ririna is also not flat per se - Takasaki juust sets the measurement (npi) high :P They skipped the 'like a doll' descirption if I remember it having happened right.

Oh boy, gossip spreads fast at school. I almost feel bad for Yukari as he got put on the spot. Misaki and his relationship seems to also got more tense.
Lilina gets more screen time this episode and tbh, she's more open about her thoughts. The scene where Misaki got pushed down on the floor mat with Yukari was pretty awkward imo. Between the main leads, I find Lilina both amusing and awkward to watch. She seems to be really excited about anything related to love. Comedy wise, I still have mixed thoughts on the timings.

LOL this is why I can't hate Lilina. Just hears the story from Yukari about his past with Misaki, and she suddenly declares its the red string of fate already. I see we have a believer, despite being opposite the childhood friend. Sure I will probably gravitate more strongly towards Misaki later, as do all roles HanaKana does, but right now I really don't mind Yukari getting it on with Lilina.
I just wish there were more Japanese stories about arranged marriages on screen. Closest thing recently is last winter's live action adaptation of "Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu" (Full time Wife Escapist), of which spawned the incredibly popular Koi Dance that swept Japan. Don't get me wrong, it was an excellent series that only dropped off near the end because, you guessed it, the source is still ongoing. Still, it's only a drop in the bucket, and I wish more stories explored this aspect of relationships as it's something that Japanese media hasn't dug in too deep yet.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Lilina, but she was quite the likable character. While I still like Takasaki more because of VA power, I do think Lilina brings a nice dynamic to the situation. No doubt this will continue to get more complicated for her though. Already just happy to have Takasaki as a friend considering the utter lack of friends she's had all this time. But as she spends more time with the MC I'd be surprised if she didn't grow some stronger feelings there.

what i don't like about this show is that i don't see how the story can drag on for that long. it's either going to be a perpetual triangle with issues constantly thrown in, or it'll be resolved with something like "oh, it was a computer error." but seeing as the manga is 100+ chapters, it seems to be the former.
