I want it to be an anime series which is faithful to the manga (which will continue 'till the final arc of the manga). Heck, due to my love for Rurouni Kenshin, I tried to mimic the sword moves of Kenshin when I was a kid using an umbrella and I was badly scolded by my mom for breaking it .

a remake with better animation is great news indeed! I just hope they use the same voice actors and music to keep it original.

It's confirmed that there's a new anime project. What isn't confirmed is any detail about what it is - Jinchu, remake, OVA, series... Even what studio. For now, it's all guesswork. Based on the casting for the latest game release, it's assumed most of the original cast will return, with the known exception of Saito, whose seiyuu unfortunately has passed away.

And Saito was one of my favorite characters. It wouldn't be the same again without Hirotaka Suzuoki's voice.

i almost fell off my chair when i read about this. but i welcome this remake. i hope it will remake the series from start to finish and without fillers this time. i was disappointed with the original when they didn't include the revenge arc and just went straight to ova. i hope they'll do it right this time. but i also hope that they stick with the original seiyuu for kenshin at least.

Kenshin's seiyuu is Mayo Suzukaze, a popular takaramono actress. She's also voiced Snow Queen in the titular TV anime series that was aired 6 years ago on NHK.
I also notice that Kenshin always says "sessha" (former version of "watashi", which means "I" in japanese) and "de gozaru" when he finishes to say the quote.

Any news lately ?

Can't wait for the new anime, but it'll probably be another year or two before we actually see it right? I also saw the new Kenshin pvc figures that are coming in June (or juli, I'm not quite sure)...I defenitly want one Can't decide if I take the blue one, or red one

I haven't watched the old series, the ova's or read the manga but I've always been interested in Rurouni Kenshin. This new project seems like an awesome way for me to start (AWESOME ART)

That's just a list of endings from the old anime.

You need to correct that right away. But skip off the OVAs till the end - they should be treated as a kind of very expensive fanfiction, since they bear no connection to Watsuki's vision of the series other than character names and backstory.

Don't forget the movie, "Ishin Shishi no Requiem". It's not a masterpiece but I think it's unjustly overlooked - quite loyal to the source material, with a very engaging storyline.

you can watch the Trust and Betrayal. it tells the back story of how Kenshin got to how he was in the series. skip Reflection until after the series though. and read the manga.

Just tell me this new series doesn't continue with that boring religious arc, that's what killed the first TV series...

I hope Soujiro is a big part of this new series though...I'm convinced he's better than Kenshin...Doesn't mean he can beat him, just way more natural talent...Oh $hit, don't want to start something before the show even starts, but yeah more Soujiro...
