It took me a while but here is V2.0 of Ciasette

Unlike most other Combat Cyborgs, Ciasette was not created by Jail Scaglietti but by her "sister" Quottordi instead, who was instructed to create a combat cyborg with the [Sankt Kaiser Armor] skill. Due to the fact she was born for the sake of an experiment and serves no real purpose except as proof of concept, Ciasette descended into despair before finally settling into rage when Quottordi tried to cheer her up. She violently assaulted Quottordi before collapsing due to her weak body. Although greatly injured, Quottordi never blamed Ciasette for the attack and treated her first before healing herself. The conversion that occurred afterwards was very enlightening to the pair and they grew closer as 'sisters' due to it.

Ciasette's weak physical health was a result of Quottordi's carelessness during the process of cloning and alteration of the base DNA where it suffered minute contamination. While the [Sankt Kaiser Armor] skill was weakened, she did however, gain a second inherent skill due to the contamination as well. Although nothing can be done to the inherent skills, the problem of Ciasette's weak physical body can be solved. To remedy this, she underwent extensive surgery where many of her internals were replaced with cybernetics equivalents, making her more machine than human. Currently, she is the cyborg with the most cybernetic replacements to her organic systems as well as the strongest in physical strength.

Normally, she is a rather introspective person and likes to meditate whenever she is not spending time on her hobbies or training. One of them is taking care of her few, precious potted plants that she got on the rare times the cyborgs get out of their secret facility to restock on supplies. The other is watching professional wrestling videos which her sisters tease her mercilessly for "watching that garbage just to ogle half naked, sweaty man and their rippling muscles". They usually regret it when she uses wrestling moves on them during sparring though. In combat, she tends to charge into battle and start attacking her foes with brute force and the occasional wrestling move, trusting her armor and Inherent Skill to protect her from harm.

Powers
Inherent Skill~Blaster Wave: The ability to focus large amounts of mana/energy quickly in her Inherent Equipment in order to discharge a concentrated blast of fire/energy at point blank range. Usually used when she managed to grab hold of an opponent. Her preferred target is the opponent's neck.

Inherent Skill~Holy Armour: As it is a weaker derivation of the Rare Skill - Armour of the Sankt Kaiser, it has been reclassified and renamed as the IS, Holy Armor. This is an automatic defense that reduces the damage of all incoming attacks.

Inherent Equipment~Blast Knuckles: A pair of gauntlets specially designed for Ciasette that take advantage of her IS. This aids Ciasette as it gathers and stores energy like a capacitor, allowing her to use her IS with little delay or charge time. Developed by Quottordi using Nove's Gun Arm, Subaru's Revolver Knuckle and the Belka cartridge system as a basis.

Other Equipment~AMF Generator: As the name state, it is a generator that creates an Anti Magi-link Field that runs on a power source independent of the Combat Cyborg. This allows the cyborgs to have the advantage of AMF even without drones in the area. All cyborgs equipped with this are proficient in using magic inside the field. This is a small module attached to the Drone Commandant Armor.

Other Equipment~Drone Commandant Armor MK1: A light armour system for the combat cyborgs that allows direct telepathic control over drones. While this is its main function, it adds a bit of minor firepower to the Combat cyborgs, making them more deadly. Designed by Quottordi as additional standard equipment by scrapping out a standard type one drone and working its reminding pieces into armor and weapons.

Other Notes
She is named Ciasette as she is Quottordi's seventeenth attempt and only success.

Originally created as a fire support type to act as Deici's support, Quindi was never completed by Jail Scaglietti as she was considered a low priority since her IS is very similar to Deici's. As such, she remained asleep in her life support pod and was ship to the same remote facility with Quottordi. She was later awaken when Quottordi discovered the life support pods containing the rest of the incomplete cyborgs that were sent along. Although initially slightly disappointed at her incomplete status, her rather laid back, easy going personality soon had her shrugging off the matter.

Although she is created as a combat type cyborg, she has a surprising number of non combat related skills. One of her talents manifest in mechanical related matters as she more or less created most of her Inherent equipment by herself with some help from Quottordi. As such, she is constantly fiddling with her equipment and further customizing it. She also assists Quottrodi in enhancing her sisters cybernetics and even if she offer to enhance Quottrodi's internal cybernetics, the offer was never taken up. She has shown that she is quite a good cook as she has taken up cooking for the entire group.

As for her combat abilities, she tends to fight in mid range as a matter of personal preference but she is able to shoot from long range if required. While skilled enough to avoid getting into melee range most of the time, she won't hesitate to engage the opponent in close combat if the situation calls for it.

Powers
Inherent Skill~Seven Guns: Quindi's IS allows her to use her Inherent Equipment to their fullest extent. Her variation allows her high speed processing of targeting information, boosting her accuracy.

Inherent Equipment~Seven Guns System: Seven weapons built to reassemble a pair of pistols, a sniper rifle, a double barrel rifle, a shotgun and a pair of sub machine guns. All weapons draw energy directly from her cyborg power source when firing energy attacks. Developed by Quottordi using information of various devices obtained from different sources.

• Twin pistols: General purpose weapons that are Quindi's preferred armament of choice. Attached to her thigh armor when they're not being used.
• Dual SMGs: A set of weapons with energy bullets that are low in power individually but has a very high firing rate, used for close quarters suppression fire. Stored at her lower back when not in use.
• Double barrel assault carbine: A powerful weapon with the firing rate of the SMGs and the fire power of the pistols. While useful, it tends to drain Quindi dry in a short amount of time. Foldable and stored on her right hip armor plate when not in use.
• Riot shotgun: The weapon with the slowest firing rate of the seven guns system. However it is the most powerful in short range. Has the ability to fire solid shells as well. Also foldable but stored on her left hip armor plate instead.
• Sniper rifle: Quindi's longest ranged weapon. Although she uses it the least, nonetheless she is strangely very attached to it. Stored across her back when not in use.

Many have said that the young princess has the wisdom of many lives, which is reflected in her mannerisms. Polite, respectful, she usually speaks very formally, often reserving a more casual form of speech for those closer to her. Some have even said that how she speaks to “the sunlight of her life,” would leave many performing impressive impressions of a cherry.

In a position of leadership, she exudes an aura that commands respect. Those in her presence follow her commands without question. Her words inspire confidence in those under her command. Her experiences and knowledge in tactics and strategy become valuable assets as various and different situations arise. Her combat prowess spurs those around her to fight harder to accomplish their missions. She is a mighty and powerful force to be reckoned with, acting also as a beacon for those around her to gather around her.

Spoiler for History:

Born on Administered World 213 Latned, Chikane was born as the planet’s Lunar Child of the deity Ame no Murakumo. Born, on October 1 MC0063 Mid-Childa time, she was logged to have been born at the same time as Kurusugawa Himeko.

From the moment of her birth, she had been raised as the daughter of a goddess. Born into a royal family, she was not only raised to be a powerful warrior, she was also raised to be a princess, one of regal status, with enough power to have enough political influence to take over the planet, if she so choose. Majority of her childhood had been a sheltered life, spending her days learning the ways of a princess, and as the daughter of a goddess. It wasn’t until her 10th birthday, 2 years before her application to the TSAB Latned Academy that her life had changed.

During her 10th birthday, she had managed to sneak out of the castle she resided in, and had a chance to explore the town, unhindered, especially since her face had never been broadcasted to the planet, and she had dressed herself as a middle-class to blend in with her surroundings. It was around that time she met the Sun Child, Himeko. (For a detailed explanation of Himeko’s past to this point, refer to the profile of Kurusugawa Himeko.)

They had met when Chikane ran into Himeko, having just been thrown out the door from a fight between her and her adoptive mother. The woman had attempted to drag her in, when Chikane had stepped in, swiftly dealing with the woman before taking Himeko away from her. That meeting ended up sparked a strong friendship towards one another, that Chikane had brought Himeko to her home, where she had declared that Himeko would be her personal maid, as a means of protecting, and giving Himeko a means to have a home.

Their lives at that point were not of a relationship between master and servant, but that of two dedicated and loyal friends. Although Himeko had continued her duties, Chikane treated above such status. Chikane treasured Himeko like no other, always protecting her from the dangers of dealing with her family, and also from students from her school that often teased her for a number of things.

Two years later, MC0065, Chikane and Himeko enrolled into the Latned-based Academy. There, she studied heavily in battle tactics, and relied more on the offensive nature of the Alocnos magic system of her home world. She graduated at the top of her grade two years later with full honours, received a magical grade of B-Rank, and was accelerated to Private First Class, although it is strongly believed that due to political pull from her family, she was accelerated in rank. However, it was never proven, not that it had truly mattered due to her performance after her graduation.

Her performance continued to outshine those of her class as she completed mission after mission, assignment after assignment. Among all those in her graduation class, she excelled among all of them, quickly ranking up to Sergeant Major, before she applied for Officer training in MC0078, two years after the cradle incident and obtained her commission as 2nd Lieutenant in MC0079. From there, she continued to storm through assignment after assignment before reaching her present rank of Lieutenant, on January 08 MC0082.

An ancient Logia, Ame no Murakumo is a twin-device system of Administered World 213 Latned. Designed to operate as two different units, Ame no Murakumo is a learning machine, designed to alter its form to accommodate its present user. Personality-wise, it is always an ever growing wise-weapon as it continues to interact and bond with each Sun and Moon priestess.

When deployed, Ame no Murakumo presently takes on the form of two separate katana, wielded by Himeko and Chikane. Function-wise, it augments and amplifies their magical capabilities

By definition of the people of Latned, Ame no Murakumo is the weapon of the gods, forged for the soul purpose of the two whom have been marked by the symbols of the Sun and the Moon. According to folklore, the belief is that every 1000 years, born on the month of the Godless Month, the gods above shall bequeath the world two of their great warriors, whom shall be lovers, whom shall be marked with the symbols of the Sun and the Moon. And with their birth, would be the knowledge to find Ame no Murakumo.

Spoiler for Spells:

Spring Wind: A healing spell. The general purpose of this spell is to heal wounds, such as bruises, deep cuts, first degree burns, or other such minor injuries caused from battle. Due to the nature of the spell, internal injuries cannot be dealt with using this particular spell. Such injuries that require an operation must be performed with a more powerful spell.

Soul Force: One of the Lunar Child’s most offensive spells. Calling upon a special Magical Energy pool sealed within the Lunar Birth Mark on the back of her neck, Chikane forms the armour of Ame no Murakumo, drastically enhancing her combat strength and speed for a short period of time. The length of time is based on the amount of Energy stored prior to activation. However, the length of time can be reduced if additional energy is used up to perform any additional spells that take up a large amount of Energy.

Note:
- Due to the drastic nature of the spell, it is rarely used because it often leaves Chikane physically, spiritually, and magically exhausted for a number of days to a few weeks, depending on the length of time the spell’s been active.

Heaven’s Hand: A spell native to users of the Alocnos System. The spell is a powerful healing spell, with a wide variety of applications, such as setting bones and healing mortal injuries such as internal bleeding, among other things. However, due to the massive power requirements, it is a non-battlefield spell. The time required charging the spell, level of concentration, and power needed to use the spell limits its usage to post-battle operations, and operation room based occasions.

Sacred Ward: A field spell. A type of spell native to Alocnos users, the spell permits the user to cast multiple field spells and place them upon others, providing them a means of protecting should their own defence prove to be insufficient.

Augment Spells: As the spell-type suggests, the user is endowed with a number of support and enhancement spells, to support and augment their team-mates as necessary.

• Hasten: Speed enhancement
• Might: Strength enhancement
• Endurance: Stamina enhancement

Shadow Chain: A restrict spell. As the name of the spell implies, this spell works best in the shadows, or at the very least, the shadow of the target. However, the more shadows, the more effective the spell is, as the user is able to cast more chains, furthering the restriction placed upon a target.

I find Jail's Numbers-series, honestly, to be redundant, obsolete, and only worthwhile for the eye candy. Let's be honest, there are an infinite number of superior, cooler, and sexier alternatives to 'em. Shoot, even the "economy" models at the very least boast superior performance. The Numbers need a massive upgrade of the Mecha-Musume variety at the minimum to keep parity.

Looking around, Rue let out another sigh as she waited for Evangeline. Leaning against the wall of the café, she quietly waited for Evangeline’s arrival. She had no particular plan in mind, but for some reason she felt that her sudden choice to wear denim pants instead of the skirt she had originally planned was going to spare her some problems. It was now 1055 hours and there was still no sign of Evangeline. But considering that she was 5 minutes early, she wouldn’t be surprised if Evangeline came on time.

Looking around again, she watched as suddenly a purple motorcycle came into view as it slowed to a stop in front of her. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise when she watched the rider reveal herself to be Evangeline as she slid the black visor up. Dressed in a pair of blue denim pants, a black leather jacket, and a white t-shirt underneath, Rue felt her mind working as the sudden biker girl image was imprinted into her mind, in addition to the fact that she was similarly dressed, save that she was wearing a blouse instead of a t-shirt.

“Wow…I didn’t know you rode a bike…” Rue commented.

“Was just issued it this morning,” Evangeline answered offhandedly, shrugging before tossing Rue a helmet.

“Huh?”

“You also need to pick up yours,” Evangeline answered, sliding the visor back down. “Ryoutaro, Megumi, and Masami were also issued theirs this morning.”

“I see,” Rue sighed, putting the helmet.

[Uplink] Kabuto’s voice suddenly declared in the helmet, causing Rue to jump in fright.

[Uplink Complete]

“Don’t be afraid,” said Evangeline over a radio connection that suddenly formed. “These helmets were designed to interface with our devices. It also works as a radio between all of us Riders, especially if we’re all out biking.”

“I see,” Rue said again. Securing the strap underneath her chin, she then mounted the seat behind Evangeline and wrapped her arms around her waist, suddenly realising what she was getting into.

“Hang on,” Evangeline called out, revving the engine a few times before taking off.

Instinctively, Rue tightened her hold around Evangeline as the bike picked up speed. Her heart went up a few notches as she took in the situation at hand. Here she was sitting directly behind Evangeline in quite an intimate position, especially considering how close she was. Sitting directly behind her, her front against her taut back, arms wrapped tightly around her supple waist, head buried against her back, she could feel her cheeks burning. And with such close combat, she just realized how well built Evangeline’s body was. Finely taut muscles on her back and side, and the defining chiselled grooves of a six-pack; she wondered how in the world she had such a figure to look so good in that particular sundress she wore.

“Is something wrong?” Evangeline suddenly asked, pulling Rue from her reverie.

“Eh?”

“SaSword says you’re body temp has increased, and you’re squeezing a bit tightly against my…” Evangeline began, before trailing off.

“Uh…Evangeline?”

“Never mind,” Evangeline mumbled. “It’s nothing…”

“I see…” Rue trailed off when a test message suddenly appeared on her visor.

‘I just explained your situation,’ the message stated, indicating that it was Kabuto.

“Oh…I see…” Rue mumbled, blushing a bit more as she realized that Evangeline was probably in a similar situation as her. Immediately, she decided to change the subject before it gotten more awkward than necessary. “So…do you train often?”

“Daily,” Evangeline answered as she continued to drive, expressing her thanks for the change of topic. “Considering that I need to use SaSword effectively, I need to train daily to hone my skills. You should also consider starting your hand-to-hand combat training, considering the Kabuto Zector was designed with that in mind. While it can be reconfigured to your magic system, its primary function is to support your hand-to-hand capabilities.”

“I see,” Rue commented, when she suddenly noticed something. “Why can’t I hear anything outside?”

“Our devices filter out surrounding noises so that we can concentrate on driving,” Evangeline explained. “Although we don’t hear it, our devices monitor everything, alerting us of anything that comes up.”

“I see,” Rue said again.

“What exactly…did you have in mind for today,” Evangeline asked, the wavering in her voice quickly being picked up by Rue.

“Well…not really sure. I hadn’t really thought about that actually.”

“No plan?” Evangeline asked.

“I just…wanted to hang out with you,” Rue mumbled, feeling her ears burning a bit. “For all I care, we could just go out riding for the day and just talk.”

“I see,” Evangeline responded.

“I’m sure that Melissa and her sister have pulled you along doing nothing but walk around the city and talk,” Rue added.

“Yeah…they have.”

“My point exactly,” Rue stated. “Besides, half the fun is planning on the fly; random choices, spur of the moment, that sort of thing.”

“I suppose,” Evangeline agreed as she turned off onto an exit ramp.

They continued in silence for some time, lost in their own thoughts. From the driver’s position, Evangeline could feel the heat on her face, and Rue’s faint scent. Emotions silently rolled in her mind as she tried to understand what was happening. She only met Rue a few months ago, and now she’s found herself at a crossroad on what she wants to do with her relationship with Rue. On the one hand, she could walk the path of friendship and let it be known to Rue that she’s not interested in that sense with her, or she could go the other direction and see where it took her. It didn’t help the fact that the same night where she just had that conversation with Rue hours prior, she found that she had a decent night’s sleep without her memories bothering her.

Unfortunately, with the fact that Rue was pressed up against her back, her arms around her waist, and her natural pheromones somewhat permeating through her helmet, she knew that she couldn’t really ponder on this subject, especially with the fact that she knew that they were both feeling the heat from the physical contact.

Glancing up ahead, her hands quickly operated the controls as she brought them to a stop in front of a hangar. “We’re here.”

Looking at Rue through her rear-view mirror, Evangeline watched Rue have this far-off expression on her face. For some reason, she found it comforting to watch her. However, there was the fact she hardly knew Rue. Having only known her for only a few months, and having only seen her enough times to count on one hand, she didn’t know what she should be feeling towards Rue. Then there was the fact she was an officer, and Rue was only an enlisted member. Sighing to herself, she tried to push the thought of her mind until she could better think on this.

“Hey, we’re here,” Evangeline called out again, lightly elbowing Rue’s arm.

“Oh,” Rue jumped, suddenly backing away from Evangeline, letting go as she does. “Sorry…”

“It’s alright,” Evangeline sighed taking off her helmet, dismounting the bike after Rue. Maintaining her hold on the handlebars, Evangeline nodded for Rue to follow her. Flicking one of the foot controls into position, Evangeline wheeled the bike into a garage where a red bike was parked against the wall.

“Place Kabuto on the mount,” she explained, pointing towards a hard point shaped exactly like the hard point for the Zector belt.

Undoing the clasp behind her neck, she allowed Kabuto to reform into its mechanical beetle form in her hand as she approached the bike. Examining the machine, she saw the mount Evangeline was talking located on top what looked like to be some sort of tank. Sliding Kabuto into place, she heard the familiar noise whenever Kabuto was locked into the belt.

[Dock Complete] Kabuto declared, before it began to flash repeatedly, indicating that it began to interface with the vehicle.

“May as well have lunch,” Evangeline suggested, bringing her bike up next to Rue’s before bringing out the kickstand and settling it down, and then dismounted SaSword from its own mount. “It’ll take a while, since Kabuto needs to install the OS for the bike.”

“Like what?” Rue asked, following Evangeline’s lead.

“Being able to interface while mounted on your belt, how to access the Cast-Off system,” Evangeline began.

“Our bikes can Cast-Off?!” Rue exclaimed, her eyes suddenly snapping back towards the two bikes.

“Yes,” Evangeline answered. “I haven’t read the specifics, so I have no idea how our bikes would look like with all that armour off.”

“I see…” Rue mumbled as they walked through a set of double doors into the mess hall. Quickly buying their lunch, they sat down in quiet corner and began to eat.

“So…where did you learn how to ride a bike?” Rue asked.

“I don’t,” Evangeline simply answered. The end result was Rue nearly choking on her food.

“What?!” Rue exclaimed after clearing her throat, clearly taken aback by Evangeline’s answer. “Then…how did you…”

“SaSword was driving the whole time,” Evangeline explained. Raising her arm, she demonstrated her point as SaSword leapt onto her shoulder before the frame of her gauntlet from her barrier jacket formed. “The same for my feet as well. At this point, I have no idea how to ride a bike so SaSword drives, via the barrier jacket. He also makes all the road decisions, and also makes my body move accordingly, until I have learned to ride a bike, without his assistance.

“The same can be said with you. For some time, Kabuto will most likely drive for you until you learn how to use the machine.”

“I see,” Rue commented, putting another mouthful of food in her mouth. “Hmm…”

“Hmm?”

“Just running ideas through my head,” Rue answered through the spoon and food. “We could always spend the day here learning how to ride a bike, or maybe just ride in town for a while and just talk…or we could hit the park few a few hours and enjoy some fresh air. It’s a few ideas. If you have a few suggestions, I’d be willing to hear.”

“Not really,” Evangeline sighed, taking another bite of her sandwich.

“SaSword,” Rue asked, glancing down towards the purple scorpion on the table. It answered back in a series of clicks before it returned to its previous business.

“That’s one for the park,” Rue noted. Glancing up, she smiled as Kabuto flew towards her and landed on the top of her head. “What about you? Feel like teaching me how to ride, ride around town while me and Evangeline talk, or hit that park?” After a few clicks from Kabuto, Rue smiled with a decision made. “It’s been decided then: let’s hit the park!”

“Isn’t that a bit far out?” Evangeline asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Not really,” Rue shrugged. “Maybe 45 minutes to an hour’s worth of driving from here, but trust me, it’s worth it! Cleanest air in the city, beautiful view of the mountain range, it’s the greenest part of the city.”

“I see.”

“Trust me, you’ll like it,” Rue happily assure, stuffing additional food in her mouth.

“Yosh,” Rue huffed. All psyched up to ride her new bike, she slipped on her helmet, mounted the machine, and docked Kabuto onto the dock.

[Dock Complete] Kabuto declared, moments later followed by forming the same control implements Evangeline had on her own arms and legs.

“You’re enjoying this,” Evangeline observed, mounting her own bike and docking SaSword.

“You bet I am,” Rue giggled as Kabuto fed impulses into her body to kick back the kickstand. “Let’s ride!” Revving the engines, Rue whooped as she drove off, quickly followed by Evangeline.

“Watch you’re speed,” Evangeline called out over the radio as she and SaSword attempted to keep up with Rue’s and Kabuto’s sudden exuberance.

“Tada,” Rue exclaimed, spreading her arms out wide, revealing to Evangeline what she wanted them to see.

“Wow…” was all Evangeline could say.

Breath taken, she removed her helmet as she took in her surroundings. Parked at the top of a hill, she could see everything. In the far off distance, mountain peaks rose from the horizon as their snow covered tops pierced into the sky above and beyond. Clear blue sky as fluffy white clouds rolled on by with the sun above, it was the picturesque sky of imagination. It was just absolutely perfect.

Blew the forest seemed to stretch out into forever. Scattered throughout as far as she could see, patches of clearings could be seen. And dead center in her field of vision, a crystal blue lake sparkled in the early afternoon sun, glistening as brightly as the night stars. Other patches of water shimmered in the sunlight, glimmering radiantly as they took in the sight before them.

“Quite the view, hmm?” Rue asked, although already knowing Evangeline’s answer, based on her expression. Glancing back towards the scenery, she had to agree it was quite breathtaking. She never honestly got bored of seeing this. In addition, this was in the far outskirts of the park itself, which already in the outskirts of the city, ensuring that it was not often visited by other patrons of the park. With the exception of Evangeline, she had yet to actually show this place to anyone else.

“This is…amazing,” Evangeline sighed, taking a few steps forward, taking in a deep breath of the air that surrounded them. She could almost immediately feel the effects the air had on her. It was far much cleaner than any air she had ever inhaled before. She felt more energetic, more alive, than she did inhaling the city air, or even the cleaned out air in artificial environments. There was just something that clean, fresh air had that no other air could compare. It was crisp, clear, clean, it was refreshing.

“It’s…refreshing.”

“Isn’t it so?” Rue agreed, sitting down on the grass. “You can see why I love this place. Helps me get away from the city for a while…even if it’s only a few hours.

“Found this place a few weeks ago while I was supervising training,” she explained. “Noticed it out of the corner of my eye while I was flying. You could imagine my surprise when I found this the morning after.”

“No doubt,” Evangeline agreed, sitting down next to Rue. “It’s quite a view.”

“I could probably spend the whole day sleeping here,” Rue sighed, flopping down onto her back. “Besides you…no one else knows about this place.”

“I’m honoured,” Evangeline chuckled, blushing a bit as she caught another whiff of Rue’s scent, which happened to be a tad different than before, and somewhat stronger. “I guess you’re that happy to see me?”

“Yeah,” Rue shyly replied, having realized she was starting to give off pheromones again. “Guess I like you more than I realized…”

“I…don’t know what to say to that…”

“Don’t,” rue sighed, looking over towards the older girl. “Let’s…just take our time. We’ve got plenty of time.”

“I suppose we do,” Evangeline agreed, taking another deep breath of fresh air.

“Say…what’s your family like? They must be proud of you for how far you’ve come,” Rue asked. However, she immediately realized that she had just asked the wrong question. Evangeline’s body suddenly went rigid, her eyes grew sad, and her breathing started to shallow somewhat. Sitting up, she placed a hand on Evangeline’s shoulder.

“Evangeline…”

“Can we not talk about them, or home?” Evangeline asked, through gritted teeth.

“Sure,” Rue agreed, quickly learning that it was a very sore subject that she shouldn’t bring up unless Evangeline chose to.

“What about you?” Evangeline quickly asked in between her attempts to calm down. “What’s…you’re family like?”

“You…sure you want to talk about my family?” Rue asked, concerned that it just may hurt Evangeline’s feelings.

“I’ll be alright,” she assured.

“Well…my mom was the governor of the region I lived in for the longest time when I was little,” she began. “She now runs a gardening store back home. I never met my father…he died on a mission before I was born. Only child because of that,” sighing a bit after stating the fact she had no siblings. “I…never got the chance to experience what it was like to have siblings, to be the role model, to have sibling fights…it’s something I was always envious of…most of my friends had little brothers and sisters. Although I knew people who I could somewhat consider my siblings…it wasn’t the same, considering we didn’t always see each other. If we lived together…it might’ve been different.”

“I guess you were a bit lonely at home,” Evangeline commented, “especially if your mother was busy as a political figure for an entire region.”

“That and my mother was dating when I was old enough to take care of myself,” Rue sighed. “I didn’t see much of her for most of my childhood before I joined the TSAB. But…after she had stepped down as governor, my home life got better. We talked more, did more things together…learned things about my father…met my future mother…”

“Future mother?!” Evangeline nearly exclaimed, raising an eyebrow. “Your…your mom is-”

“Bisexual?” Rue finished. “By your standards, yes. But that’s normal back home, to be attracted to members of the same and opposite sex. So unlike the average citizen here, ask anyone back home and they’ll say its commonplace for same-sex relations. I’ve never really understood what’s so…wrong about it. Love is love, so who cares if it’s a guy kissing a guy, or a girl trying to discretely fondle her girlfriend in public. It’s just them either expressing their love, or trying to have some fun with their love.”

“I see…”

“So…I guess…that sort of explains why I’m more comfortable, and open with the concept of possibly dating you…than you are of me,” Rue sighed, leaning back with he arms propping her up. “But…I can’t force you or any other girl here to accept that girls can date other girls, as well as guys. I have to let you make that choice, and come to terms with that…”

“You…don’t seem so shy about the fact that you like me anymore,” Evangeline noted.

“Oh I’m still embarrassed by this whole thing,” Rue chortled and looked over at Evangeline’s direction. “But…the fact of the matter is: I do like you. I’m attracted to you. I want to get to know you better.

“That…and I’m also letting you know I’m staking my desire to claim your heart. Whether something good or bad comes out of that, only time will tell, wouldn’t you agree?”

“I…I see…” Evangeline mumbled, glancing away trying to hide the red stains suffusing her cheeks.

Reaching over, Rue placed a gentle hand on Evangeline’s shoulder, drawing her attention where she got a good look at the level of embarrassment and shyness she was exuding. And then it hit her: this was the real Evangeline underneath that professional exterior she often wore. Although it was only the tip of the iceberg, suddenly trying to claim her heart didn’t seem so daunting anymore. Although it wasn’t going to make it any less hard, at least it deem seem as bumpy as it seemed before.

“One step at a time,” Rue assured, giving her a shy smile while failing to keep her blush under control.

“Yeah…” Evangeline quietly agreed. “One step at a time…”

About the Numbers: Clearly the good doctor made them to fight and live, not to fight and die. That's how he treats his girls as well. It was only his contradictions that got in the way of a typical Nanoha ending. (Canon)

He does have some better geared experiments relying directly on Relic power, the 6 Extended Relic Weapons (Erio's OCs).

However, the original Jail made a cyborg series that, because they also draw on Relic power and are not just mages but Factors, consider themselves Augmentors. Not surprisingly their purpose is solely to crush Humanity with their superiority. Those borgs, male or female, aren't shy of visible equipment and can only be matched by other Factors. However, as they are artificially made, their powers are on average better than other naturally-born Factors.

Kind of threw together another bit of the Battle of Cranagan on a whim...

In this edition you'll get to witness tactical movement methods and fun with hand signals. Very little magical action, but lots of sploding. Be sure and cue the music when you reach it.

Spoiler for Precision Air Strikes take a whole new meaning...:

"KOWALSKI!" Roland snapped as he ducked down behind the engine block of the truck. "How many?!"

"Gotta be two dozen in there!" the injured mage yelled back as Yankovich did his best to wrap up a bullet wound to his leg. "The AMF's too dense to get through... I lost my entire squad to a flank by the drones you took out a minute ago. They must have something important in there."

"Understood!" Roland shouted back, then turned to Wilde. "Options?"

"I couldn't get any vehicle through that hailstorm," Bill growled back. "Not with the volume of lead they're directing at anything that moves."

"Noted," Roland nodded, turning to Vincent. "You?"

"Try what we did the last time," Jake smiled. "Drop a few Velgers down on them and roast some marshmellows."

"Too close," the General shook his head. "An artillery spell from LongArch is too powerful once she amps it to cut through the AMF. We'd be roasted too. We need something more precise."

Roland's head snapped up as the sonic boom of an F-15 caught his attention, the fighter quickly rolled and curved sharply to evade a pair of flying drones. A shriek of noise erupted from another direction as Fox's Arwing curved sharply in on them before they were all out of sight again.

"We need air support!" he finished. "Martinez! Vincent! Wilde! Cover me!"

"Got it," Vincent responded, rolling and opening fire.

Roland waited for a few seconds for the return fire from half a dozen automatic rifles to cut off as the opposition holding the convenience store ducked behind whatever they could to avoid being shot, then bolted from his place behind the truck. Sprinting through the open as fast as he could, he counted silently in his mind as he spotted his intermediate destination.

"One-onethousand two-onethousand three-onethousand..."

Roland dove forward as he silently mouthed FOUR! Almost on the next instant he could hear the teeth rattling supersonic snaps of 7.62 mm rounds as they sprayed where his body would have been. He landed on his upper arm, rolling his shotgun over the top of him as he spun behind cover and rose up on his elbows. Cranagan's rather ostentatious habbit of lining half or more of its inner metropolis sidewalks with raised concrete berms was a godsend in this firefight. While most everything else wouldn't really provide effective cover against rifle rounds, the dirt filled concrete planter boxes that lined the parkways would stop just about anything short of tank rounds and high explosives... or magic if it came to that.

"I'ma gonna' getchu' bastards, just wait and see," he growled in a thick Texan accent, walking forward on his elbows and wriggling along the berm.

Yankovich finished tieing off Kowalski's leg and unslung his rifle, eyeing the General as he high crawled towards them. When Roland reached the end of the berm, he planted his hands and nodded. On cue, Yankovich turned and fired several shots. There was a muffled scream as one connected with an unseen foe. Amidst this, Roland once again sprang to his feet and cleared the gap to reach them and ducked behind the overturned vehicle.

"Pack your things," he joked as he came to a stop. "We're leaving."

"You have a plan sir?" Kowalski struggled to gain his feet and failed. The bullet must have hamstringed him.
"No time for a plan right now," the General shook his head. "Just shoot and move. Can you cast a barrier?"
"In this AMF?" Kowalski looked flabbergasted.
"We just need about ten seconds of mobile cover," Roland looked back the way he came, sizing the gap. "If you can manage that, I think I can ring us up a nice plan."
Kowalski followed the General's gaze and understood.
"I think I can raise one," he began. "But I'm just a C rank, it won't hold up very well-"
"Good enough," Roland nodded. "Get ready to move, Yankovich, get one side."
Roland spun and got Vincent's attention, then pointed at himself, and then at Vincent... after a second he stuck his finger in the air and waved it in a circle, then again pointed at Vincent and made as if to pat his helmet.
In return, Vincent lifted his hand in the air, index and thumb together in a circular shape.

Kowalski watched the exchange in fascination as Roland snapped around, draping one of the Mage's arms over his back.
"What did you say?" he asked.
"I told him: We're coming to you, regroup and cover me. I didn't want those bastards to hear me shouting it."
"Wow..."
"We're not all gifted with Telepathy son," Roland continued. "So we have to do things the old fashoned way, get ready!"

Kowalski raised his broken staff and focused his will to produce a barrier. There was a faint flicker before a wide, semi-transparent material shield formed... It didn't look very tough.
"Ready," Kowalski grunted.

"COVERING FIRE!!!!" roared Bill's voice over the din, and the sound of automatic rifles quadrupled in intensity as the rest of Roland's fireteam began emptying entire magazines into the convenience store. Oppossing gunfire all but stopped as the redoubled rage chewed holes in masonry and concrete alike. At the same time, Roland and Yankovich raced out of Cover, Kowalski between them hopping the best he could on his good foot, casting a defense barrier of questionable strength to protect them against any would be potshots.

"One-onethousand two-onethousand three-onethousand..."

The seconds ticked by like an eternity. To Roland, this was against everything he'd ever learned to present himself this vulnerable. Yet, as they made it to the half way point, he pushed his doubts to the side and focused on getting this brave mage to safety. There was an odd clipped sound as a seven six two round struck the barrier. Kowalski grunted but it remained up... five meters to go, three... one...

The bolt on Vincent's rifle chimed its hollow sound as it went dry. At the same moment, Roland successfully cleared the last gap and Kowalski exhaled from the effort of holding up the barrier, allowing it to fade. Two seconds later, the metallic snaps of armor piercing bullets resounded across the truck as the fire team ducked back.

"Behind cover and down!" Roland ordered. "Martinez! Radio!"

Leon fired one more round around the side of the truck, iliciting a withering response as he ducked away and came to a stop next to Roland. Keying in the rather dated equipment to the line he'd set up from Deep Sky, he began broadcasting.

"Steamroller to all units, requesting close air support on my position," he began. "Target is convenience store, filled with entrenched infantry force. Target is high probability DEFCON, I say again HIGH PROBABILITY DEFCON!"

There was a brief pause, Roland raised the mic to his mouth to repeat his message when a strong resonant voice snapped through the reciever.

"AFFIRMATIVE, STEAMROLLER. TINMAN WILL PROSECUTE."

EDI broke off persuit of a pair of drones, banking so hard the one attempting to chase him had to break its own persuit to avoid the thrust wash. Network Linking with the Deep Sky and Raising Heart on the Southeast side of town, he quickly Triangulated the signal and nosed onto the target, accellerating to Mach 2.5.

"Target is thirty meters south by southwest of my position..." Roland's voice crackled.

Sensors indicated six drones rising to intercept, shooting all the way in. EDI snapped defense screens up at the moment of impact from two shots and weaved between the rest as the forward sensors focussed on the triangulated position. He quickly identified multiple overturned vehicles and several downed mages. Roland's fire team was 33.4 meters north-northwest of a convenience store with abnormal thermal levels. Danger close distance for a ground unit. Patching through to MIDSAT A and B, EDI did a groundscan as he deployed his buster mechanism. Thermal scan indicated four groups of four along the walls of the store, eight more clustered around a cold body with trace ionization occuring in close proximity. Telltale signs of radioactivity that couldn't otherwise be picked up by magic sensors in the current environment. The thermal contrast indicated it was in the cooler. Ideal metal shielding.

"ENGAGING" he droned over the radio, his buster device sprang to life, gathering an orb of orange magic energy.

Building a three dimensional picture of the location by accessing building schematics and construction records along with the thermal triangulation, EDI quickly found a snag. There were three thermal signatures in unsual postures for combat, and in an unusual location. High resolution scan in the next two microseconds indicated they were hostages locked in a closet. Total destruction was out. EDI quickly anylized the structure and began building a simulation of shot effects, isolating how to use destructive interference on the overpressure waves to cancel them out in just the right places before settling on the placement of a scattering of lower power precision shots. Another microsecond bouncing the data long range to confirm with Cherry resulted in error correction and a settlement on optimal placement. Revisions made, EDI adjusted velocity and angle to match the new target markers and fired.

EDI fired about the moment his voice finished resonating 'Engaging' over the radio.
Two rapid bursts of four shots each lanced clear of the drone hunter, screaming in on the convenience store.
Roland pushed Kowalski down as the rest did the same. Four brillaint orange bolts slammed into the storefront, evaporating it instantly. The second wave of four struck just just the sound from the first impact reached everyone's ears. The scattering of the second four hit different parts of the building, causing a rolling series of explosions that collapsed the store.

After a moment, there was a crack as EDI rocketed overhead at Mach 3, pulling out of his dive and banking around hard to prepare another sweep, but it wasn't needed.

Roland stood, carefully moving out from his cover. The store was obliterated, now a smoldering ruin. There were no hostiles left. However, the General knew that wasn't true until it was confirmed true. Stepping cautiously forward, he crossed the road and approached where the door once was.

'Creak'
Roland turned, pumping his shotgun more for emphasis than function... part of the structure remained intact. The manager, and two clerks, stood in the closet as the door fell off and to the ground, twitching ever so slightly as if in the eye of a hurricane.
Roland lowered his shotgun, looking around some more.
"All clear, he waved. "Signal Longarch, three down, one to go."

So yeah, I've been away due to this n' that then I got entangled in a certain MMORPG that starts with a M and ends with an I

And now with not much motivation to play it, I'm here. It's not like I forgot about OCT, I just didn't come visit...sorry >_<

But I continued thinking about my OCs and stories with them and well...I feel like writing something at the moment

So...Let's see if I can get it ready to post anytime soon.
